The method of phase change calorimetry was doubled checked by Ю.Н.Бажутова from the "Institute of Earth Magnetism, the lonosphere, and Radio Wave Propagation of the Russian Academy of Sciences", this gentleman has worked on very advanced projects in collaboration with Universities as well as Russian military labs (home of the secret nuclear bomb development during Cold War), also president of the Cold Transmutation Conferences (more than 20 conferences to date) - so by far not a pseudo-scientist.

The authors suspect that due to the conditions, nickel is in the solid phase, aluminum is in the liquid phase and lithium is in the vapor phase, they also suspect that Rossi's reactor is operated in the 100ATM (1500PSI) region. Furthermore they stated that Rossi's method of sealing the reactor is very ingenious and does not require the standard bolts and flanges for a high pressure vessel (I think he presses steel plugs into a steel tube).

Not only did the authors look at the heat of vaporization but they also looked at the time-frame of cool-down period to double check the amount of heat escaped from the reactor as well as their calculations.

There was a small burst of radiation when increasing the heat past 600C, the authors are not sure if this is significant and that they will investigate further to determine if it is significant since this is within the instruments measurement error. This radiation detector was more for detecting dangerous emissions, soft radiation would be attenuated in the reactor walls - these results are as expected and show the safety of these devices.

The authors observed that while the input energy was held constant between the stepwise increases, the output energy slowly increased, at the highest temperature they observed drastic temperature oscillations.

The authors stated at the end of the run the heater burned out but it took 8 minutes after the burnout for the reactor to drop below 1200C, due to this information the authors infer that near kilowatt levels of excess heat after death were produced.
