EGO-OUT: Brian Ahern intend to replicate Parkhomov

I am also planning to do the experiment with an opened container and a proportionally smaller amount of Ni and LiAlH4 so that after a shorter time the same relative change in isotopic composition should be measureable with an ICP-MS device.

Wow, that sounds nice! Feel free to share your experiences here in that forum. We will support you! :)

I will not measure calorimetrically, just mass spectra.

Nice to hear @Majorana, tell us more details please! I think many want to follow your project.

it will be important to get direct information from Parkhomov (as MFMP do with piantelli, as Longchampt did with Fleischmann, as some did with Patterson

article to read about replication (search patterson)

not also that some serious scientist challenge the result, even if not definitively.

  • Majorana, I don't think it works like that. The less material will just give you less heat / reactions. It will, assuming that you get significant reaction out of the system, take about 30 days running flat out to get the isotopic conversions seen in the rossi test.
For those looking to do a better test of the heat!... This company http://www.spectite.com/ makes good pass throughs / glands to feed the power through the minimal pressure vessel wall and then through the sealed vessel with the dog bone reactor in side. Alternately you can just use something like this
    http://www.mcmaster.com/#5182k838/=vjhuwa
Type 316 Stainless Steel Yor-Lok Tube Fitting
Straight Adapter for 1" Tube OD x 1 NPT Male Pipe
on the lid of both the inner dogbone reactor housing and outer water reactor to create a water / steam tight seal and mount one of these
http://www.amazon.com/Control-…-Adjustable/dp/B007GDY3CU in the lid of the steam vessel.
Make sure the pressure in the vessel does not exceed 15PSI = 250F or the upper limit of the device. Probably best to set it to 5 PSI or maybe 5 KPa. (This should be able to handle >300KW!)
    Use something from here
    http://www.mcmaster.com/#stand…-level-indicators/=vji6sh
to make sure the liquid level stays over the top of the dogbone container.
You will also need something like a gear pump to pump make up water into the pressure vessel. Make sure your vessel can take at least 30PSI at temperature just to be safe.
You may need some of these
    http://www.mcmaster.com/#ceramic-hollow-rods/=vjif6i
to help insulate the wires from each other and the container.
Be safe! The steam coming out will burn the C$!) out of you if you are not careful!

You are right! I made a mistake by thinking there is a mean reaction rate in units of transmutations per time...

Anyhow, I will not let the reactor run for 32 days. Instead, just 10-20 hours. Than the composition should have changed by about 1 % which is measurable with the available devices. I will still use a smaller amount since I want to reduce the amount of hydrogen that is released for safety reasons.

However, measuring calorimetrically will not help you any further at this point!

No nuclear scientist will take your measurements serious. And unfortunately these are the people we have to convince.
If you measure excess heat they will blame you of hiding uranium bars in your as* and pulling them out while nobody was watching and sticking them into the reactor.

Trust me I have heard lenr researchers from the 90's who told the story how they showed their reactors to renowned scientists in the 90's... Most of them were to afraid to take such measurements serious because they were afraid of what happens to their career if the results were mistakes, the rest of them was completely preoccupied by the standard model of QCD, although it was already known to them, that it is by far not as well studied as the electrodynamic theory.

What a pity, because experimental science also means that you have to prove to somebody that he is wrong or right by falsifying or verifying the result of his measurement. Especially, if you know that your theory is inaccurate.

Of course the scientists were completely right to check for systematic errors. But they did not show any interest in replicating the experiments.

Measuring a mass spectrum with the help of an accredited university is the only way to get attention and to be taken seriously.
