  • Martin Fleischmann pointed out that their calorimetric technique was devised by J. P. Joule. I found the paper in which Joule first published the technique. He used it to discover Joule's law, P = I^2R, and he used it to measure the heat from electrolysis. The title is:


    "On the Heat evolved by Metallic Conductors of Electricity, and in the Cells of a Battery during Electrolysis". Philosophical Magazine. 19 (124): 260. 1841.

    The full title of the magazine was The London, Edinburgh and Dublin Philosophical Magazine and Journal of Science.


    Incidentally, the paper before Joule's was, "On a remarkable Bar of Sandstone off Pernambuco, on the Coast of Brazil." By C. Darwin, Esq., M.A., F.R. & G.S. So Joule was in good company.



    I like the comment on p. 276:

    I will lean on manifestations of patterns and forces already seen, applied where we haven't looked properly before. There always was a halfway step between the outer electrons (through denser and/or collectively mediated links) and the shuffling of nuclei. There is no new cosmic force, just revived human understanding and application of the truest pressing principals. Just applied to using potential inside the well instead... most of an atom internally is "empty space". Like a layered electromagnetic flywheel of picoscale proportions.

    The 10 outer Nickel electrons can act collectively what gives a total electrical potential of about 1020eV this is a very good match with the p-p bond found in (D*-D*) and also in H*-H* clusters. This means that nickel can resonantly absorb the energy produced by the forming dense Hydrogen.


    Larger clusters of D*/H* can resonantly take over again the energy of the next levels on the way to e.g. D*-D* --> 4-He or Ni+D fusion. The problem with such surface reactions is their limited duration as Nickel only on the surface can store (theoretically) up to 10 Hydrogen atoms. Such a violent reaction will ultimately blow of the outer layer.


    A better solution would be to coat palladium with Nickel (not the other way round as Mizuno does and then high H/D load Pd that then continuously feeds the Nickel surface.


    It's time that people start to understand the real physics behind LENR and not waste their time with EVO's or strange radiation patterns fairy tales.


    We already two years ago predicted from the SO(4) physics model that a high rate of X-rays must come out of such reactions. So no mystery just missing knowledge.

    Would a carrier material (ceramic tube or sintered stainless steel) coated with Multiple layers Pd ( inner layer) Ni (outer layer) be an idea for a concrete setup? Inside tupe D/H feed, Ni surface heat transfer. Where would the reaction take place?

  • Though metal particles/vapor suspended in a hydrogen plasma has higher reactive surface area! So intentional anode sputtering could be a part of design. Also would it make sense to prefer a system optimized to work within this atomic middle ground? Simplifies things and it's more flexable when you keep cores intact but closer. A substancial portion of the He4 measurements could be *H2+*H2 or *D2.
