New Open Science Project refereed to as "Looking For Heat" created by LENR Ltd launches 1st of March

Sam Hansson, aka Dr Bob, is pre-launching the website "lookingforheat.com" to support LENR, 1st of March.

The teasing video is funny as we are used with Dr Bob, but Sam is a dynamic entrepreneur.

He updated, explaining that this project is a collaboration with Alan Smith from Leap Forward Labs and Klee Irwin from Quantum Gravity Research. LENR ltd. will be operated as a combination of for-profit and crowd funding.

They intend to follow Open Science methodology.

No more idea of what he prepares, but be prepared for something creative and serious...

This project is a collaboration between Sam Hansson from Cold Fusion Sales, Alan Smith from Leap Forward Labs and Klee Irwin from Quantum Gravity Research. I’m not allowed to speak about exactly what it is they will be doing, but if you’re already familiar with these people, you could probably guess what would happen if you brought them all together.

All though operated as a for-profit company, LENR Ltd intends to follow (whenever possible) an Open Science methodology, adding value to the Garage Researchers and Open Science communities already out there. Meaning – there will be fierce collaboration, rather than fierce competition.

This is not a new idea for people who have read "Antifragile" by Nassim Nicholas taleb.

Lavoisier have a real job (tax gatherer), like Einstein (Patent officer). Even da Vinci was basically an artist and an engineer, before being a scientists.

Many innovative scientists today are retired academic or professional.

Taleb use the term "Barbel strategy" to describe the situation where you have a very safe resource , and you beside that invest resource in improbable projects, avoiding the mildly risky "should normally work" projects that are not very profitable, and not so reliable.

He describe also the "Trap" where many, if not most, scientists fall to please the comfortable system that feed them reliably, instead of pursuing their intuition enduring uncertainty.

As I understand this is comparative thermometry, but with servo-mode, using a PID controller to stabilise the temperature of one of the "port". They propose a protocol:

There are two basic experimental procedures, we suggest that in the event of an XS heat event you follow both to eliminate any sources of error. Remember that you can swap over cores without powering down the system. This saves valuable experimenting time. Use suitable tools to handle the cores, –they will be very hot.

1. CONTROL IN PORT 1, TEST IN PORT 2. If the test core is no more active than the control tube you will see no difference in the temperature shown by the PID and that on the digital thermometer. If the test core produces heat then port 2 temperature will obviously rise, but the delayed response of the ‘master’ PID thermocouple in port 1 allows this to happen for a while. When the XS heat from port 2 reaches the master thermocouple (after 5-8 minutes) it will respond by reducing the power supplied to the heaters. A clear ‘difference signal’ is thus apparent at each stage of this process..

2. TEST IN PORT 1, CONTROL IN PORT 2. If the test core is producing XS heat it will quickly cause the heater power input to drop, thus reducing the temperature of the control core in port 2. Once again there will be clear difference signal. We suggest running both protocols when an XS heat event is observed.
