just a guess: MFMP test: 1 hour of X/beta radiation followed (behind a Pb shield) by 5 hours of infrared (IR/THz)

Stimulation with THz laser and using Pb as a radiation shield? Some beta decay?
I speculate that MFMP has found a way to maintain self sustain mode through a parameter feedback loop. The parameter must be associated with some sort of EMF stimulator.
What parameters does MFMP has access to. The temperature, pressure, stimulative frequency, power application...on/off and the time for ramp up and ramp down.
Among replicators, there will be a market for a controller chip to maintain SSM using input power with input being temperature and pressure.
Could MFMP have found another input parameter like dipole activity or the voltage produced by the reaction? Like Rossi's E-Cat X, maybe MFMP found a way to produce electric power. Now that would be very exciting. Will MFMP make dark energy open source?

Be careful about that statement. I am not so sure if the 100 keV is really the upper limit of the x-ray / y-energy. Moreover the statement that
Ni nanoparticles will shield gammas is nonsense. Hence the interior of the tube could be activated, and that could yield
not so temporary bad surprises.

My guess? (and right now it's all a fun time to guess) Rossi has given them an XCat to test. It works, and it works better than anyone could have dared to hope. Lead? Iridium? Infra-red? beta radiation? For techies this is a fun riddle. For us philosophers the meat is in the other clues. But even if it can "only" heat our homes and factories in a non polluting way it's better than sliced bread.On the other hand, If, after all this buildup, it's only another bottle of wine from Lugano a lot of us will go home, lick our wounds and once more begin praying for the second coming.

I have been urging MFMP for the longest time to sinter the nickel powder in a fuel preparation stage to make the nickel porous to allow hydrogen to penetrate into the disrupted lattice bond structure of the nickel. Could it be, that they finally got to that stage of the LENR nickel technology?
