I have to add that for Ed the first parameter is temperature (recent discovery), and even in electrolytic experiments, this is the key parameter, before loading and current.
It is surprising since the consensus based on initial McKubre work was that loading above 0.85 was key.

Some of his finding are in the progress reports on lenrexplained.com

He works with the well known electrolytic method, but what he found says that electrolysis is just a way to :
    - load/unload the metal
    - change temperature
    - change surface morphology and composition

all you can do with dry method...

anyway there is the need to trigger the reaction sometime, with pulse of something (current, magnetic field, laser, THz, ultrasound, pressure change, temperature shock)...

Is LENR dynamic like a diesel engine ?
The NAE is a machine, and some machine need cycling , refueling, cleaning, exhaust, repair, maintenance, to keep working. Maybe the LENR NAE is so.

Ed explains that once an electrode is working
    - even if removed , when reinstalled it can keep being active
    - when made inactive by remelting or overuse, you can made it again active by using the initial cleaning loading unloading cycle

    this mean that the NAE
    - are created by initial treatment , including loadin/unloading cycle
    - can be created or destroyed
    - are quite robust
    - are created only in some material/alloys

All is about PdD but like him I bet there is no structural difference between PdD, TiD,TiH, NiH, except some details of metallurgy and nuclear formula...

note that those finding are not explained by his theory but emerging from his experiments and his experimental review.

His theory can be wrong, and another can be better, but the way he describe NAE behavior, material behavior, is solid claim.

what this mean for replicators :
    - key is material composition, including doping and impurities
    - this is where details in your providers, brand, and experimental setup is key
    - key is metallurgy in that context, enabled by composition, and created by "treatments"
    - this is where making the material breath is key
    - key to control and initiation is temperature, once loading and metallurgy is OK
    - thermal control, interact with breathing in a non-linear way. challenge of control-command engineers. need of modelization of that system...

what is not clear with Edmund Storms recent result is the importance of initiation procedure (pulses of various kind), where people like Dennis Letts have proposed much more.
