    I am envisioning.

A self-containing, autarkic community of a few 1000 to 10000 people, with the aim to carry out experiments that were not done and won't be done
by the scientific community being considered redundant and unnecessary as predicted by the standard model of physics.

Right now in Australia there is a 100.000 km² property being offered for sale.

Hi Majorana. One of the joys of the interweb is that it offers the possibility of a virtual community space. No rent, no taxes and everyone does their own washing up. A scientific priesthood gathered in some secluded space might not be the best way to engage with the world. There is a cloistered brotherhood in Switzerland with a (claimed) free energy generator. Lofty though their ideals might be, they have never revealed its secret. Isolation breeds arrogance.

    Hi Alan

    1. The internet based work you propose has obviously failed since years. What you praise as the freedom of own washing up
is unfortunately the reason for this failure

Scientists out there who would like to investigate new unconventional ideas, have to do their "own washing up" and work
in a field determined by the scientific community at best or by ministry of science and industrial investors at worst in order
    to earn their living
. In this way, they are kept from examining new unconventional ideas that are really important
contrary to the "research" that is considered important by industrialists that are greedy for short-term profit and do not think about the
long term wealth and peace of humanity.

    2. Did I say that the envisioned community should enter isolation? I did not. I envision a community which sustains itself but should and has to be open to the global market, because it will have to supply itself with the necessary experimental equipment.

No Majorana, you didn't say such a community would be isolated, indeed it might be determined not to be. But such groups have an unhappy tendency to end up as closed cults. Look at Scientology for example, a belief system that is only sustained by constant recruiting - yet it's relationship with the non-Scientology world is fractious at best. And don't even start me on the Masons.

Onece again i will tilt agains this vision.
Let us remind that the opponents werer not corporate researshers, nor even applied science researshers hungry for contracts, but well installed lord of academic science, government paid guardian of good science and public interest, having no risk to lose their job.
They were supported and supporting by an army of public funded academics hungry for billion of hot fusion money and business as usual research.

Thanks to the small engineers and scientist in military labs (when the academic does not fear hierarchy to ostracize researshers like in LANL and Spawar), in nuke industry labs (when the government does not block them later like in france, when fear of academic bad mouth does not block them like in india), in heavy and high-tech industry (Toyota, MHI, recently Nissan, SAIPEM/ENI, ST Micrelectronics)...

please don't be victims of the cliché about industry and big money.
LENR is only a failure of academic science, (and media and politics who are just parrots and stockholm syndrome victims), and state funded panel.

all the rest, industry, scientific method, capitalism, militaries, intelligence, did their job as expected, which most of the time does not mean basic research.

even the media and politicians failed as we expect them to fail if the science have a pathological consensus, by parroting and implementing it.

we only have to correct academic science, maybe by ignoring it in 21th century.
