They are exporting some vaccines, but they are not authorized for use in Japan, according to some sources. I don't understand why. It is a massive failure of their public health apparatus.


    It does seem like omicron is less likely to cause death, and less likely to cause a serious case in vaccinated people. Weeks ago that was an open question, but I think the data from the UK and elsewhere points to that.

    Omicron is a new corona virus and soon will be named Corona-21 as it is no longer counted as a member of the CoV-19 family. We see this in Israel as there is no differences in the case rate among all classes of vaxx 0,1,2,3,4x.....Omicron is magnitudes less severe than Delta. But still like a strong flu for many.

    Deaths trail cases by 2-4 weeks. So soon deaths will go down in all countries as seen since two weeks in RSA and also CH since 1 week. But the wave will last about 2 months and as it is flat the down turn is also by fractions/day.

    Obviously you don't read posts. About 2/3 count as recovered so you have to multiply the death rate for vaccinated only by 3 then you get teh correct 40..60%.


    Recovered are almost all vaccinated and adding recovered to vaccinated is the world wide cheating done...

    Canada update :

    Late last Friday (end of the news cycle!) Canada's health minister floated the idea that the provinces should start implementing vaccine mandates. The reason, he said, is that the federal government is struggling to support the provinces' financially against Covid. (Never mind that not long ago Trudeau was boasting that Canada was well resourced to fight Covid.)

    My translation : Provinces, start implementing covid vaccine mandates or else the Federal government is going to start cutting off support payments to the provinces who don't mandate them.

    So it comes as little surprise that today the Quebec premier announced that any eligible Quebecer who has not had their first vaccine within two weeks will pay a "health tax" on their provincial income tax. (It should be noted that Quebec receives the most support payments from the Feds.) The amount of the tax is undisclosed right now. I'm guessing it will be $500. Imagine : getting penalized for not getting a gene therapy vaccine that remains experimental until 2023. "True north strong and free"? Bite me!
