Searched a bit for multimeters, I think it indicates negativ current (letter I). So somewhere the polarity is reversed.

If it has polarity, it is DC, and reversing the leads will reverse the displayed polarity.
Otherwise how would one know which way current is flowing?

It specifically says that for negative DC voltage the "-" will appear.
It says nothing about that for current, but I presume it also shows polarity.
So the current is - 1,450 uA, (ie reversed connection), not +/-450 (or whatever) -
The maximum number a 4.5 segment display can show is 19999.
Overlimit is usually displayed OL but if not actually OL but greater than scale then display is typically 1 with four blank digits. Ie: measuring 20500 at a 22000 technical maximum. -
Some documentation suggests that the half digit is capable of displaying 1 and 2

If the current on the meter reads negative, and the red + meter lead is hooked to the PSU +, and the meter - black lead is hooked to the lamp/ecat assembly, in amps mode, then the PSU is not supplying the current displayed because the current is flowing backwards.

Right, but unfortunately (or slyly) the real position and polarity of leads (at DMM side) has not been clearly shown during the test by the video.

Seems ok, screenshot from first measurement. Black in COM, Red in uA.
Yup. Right color, right holes.

Red lead connected to red + from PSU.
Black lead connects to red lead from lamp/ecat assembly...Ground/black from lamp/ecat assembly goes straight to PSU as usual

My screen grab from the demo test at post #9618 shows that the polarity indicator is 'lit' for both the main 4.5 digit and the 0-22 'analogue bargraph
The bargraph 'position' appears to match the '45x.x' portion of the digital display
If you look carefully at the left margin of the display it appears that both the DC indicator (solid bar over 3 dashes) is 'lit' (as we might expect) BUT the AC 'sine' icon also appears to be lit, as if the current being measured is either pulsed or bi-phasic
In addition to this unholy mess, you can also see that a few other segments of the digital display are partially 'lit' as if the display is trying to multiplex between 2 readings: 457.3 and a different value (with 457.3 having slightly greater 'screentime')
PS. I've checked against a video of the 3430 in action and the '1' segments in the '-1' indication are not the same as the m.s. digit '1'
I agree with comments above that the manual only mentions polarity as indicated by a '-' symbol, no mention of anything like '+/-' on the display, and current overrange is indicated by audible signal and by a rightward facing solid arrow-head at the RH end of the bargraph

LCDs can sometimes fool you, segments or symbols seem to be active due to ambient light and viewing angle.

Often there is an image showing all screen indicator functionality but I haven’t found one either.Decent meter really.

I agree, and those which appear to be active under those conditions will tend to be grouped with others nearby according to similar angle or lighting conditions...
...and sometimes segments/symbols will seem to be active because they are active
I am just pointing out a possibility which might have some bearing on why the display appears to be showing some rather inconsistent information

The illumination of every LED digit is transitory. On my DSLR at about 1/250sec some digits were totally dark. On a movie it's catch as catch can. You're reading too much into tea-leaf configurations.

We're looking at an LCD display, not an LED one - LCD segments can remain static, once enabled, until they need to be updated to a new digit value
That's why I'm questioning why we see some segments which appear partially 'lit' (enabled) - as if the meter IS having to multiplex between 2 different values on the digital readout
I prefer to drink the product of my tea-leaf configurations, rather than read them
