Trump and Energy Policy

  • The number one way to end wars for oil is for the E-Cat to be replicated, a guaranteed to work formula distributed on the internet, and a thousand companies around the world to start building systems of all kinds. The power density of the E-Cat makes it the technology that would utilize the LEAST resources. Once the Ni-H technology is proliferated, it will spread and grow like wildfire. Renewable energy companies will all crash and oil will do so too -- at a slightly slower rate.

  • Hi Mary, you have not posted over a month (since the change of power) and we had our court reveal a day or two ago. I was worried that the dreaded "They" got ya. Honestly though I was worried for your health when you did not post. I'm soft like that. Yes our bethren on the other side of the pond are interested in our new leader. I assume that you have been lurking and have caught up.

  • Sorry Mr SS,

It was in reference to Ms. Yugo not posting since Trump came to power. I was actually worried that she was ill (I am like that).

I am a real person I have argued with Mary for years (just to up her game and not denigrate anyone). It is the same respect I show you and hopefully everyone. I also would like to hope for a better future. If I have caused you insult I apologize I may not believe that Rossi has the goods but you are entitled to.

  • Mr. SS we are on the same page. I think in the long run we want the same things. I appreciate your candor btw. It is refreshing. So many want to top others. We in the South have a simple term for them just called toppers. No matter what you even try to say in an argument they will top it. (right or wrong ;) ). Let me ask after the Rossi story ends (it has to agreed?) we will need to move on. Please give your thoughts on direction. I (smile) don't think you are the type to give up easily. Maybe sometimes you can dispute the T.C. report on the Lugano test. I have to say it was the turning point for me. This man is a brat. (or prat whatever they call him over there ) But he is correct and has been peer reviewed by folks of the MFMP among some of us. Just n case Rossi does not prevail I hope you stay with us. This works (well am a Pd fan) we just need to crack it and duplicate it and see if it scales. Heck even Rigel can be wrong. ;)

  • How much energy the renewables generate in Germany over winter - the most "green" country at the world..

That is a "cherry picked" example. That's not "over winter;" it is a few days in January, which is the worst month for solar and wind power. Try looking at it for August:

Much better. Solar output coincides with demand, reducing the need for peak-generation capacity, which is the most expensive.

That is a "cherry picked" example.

In the same way, like your "summer example". But you should also live over winter. The projected output of wind and solar plants in Germany is 90 GWatts each, but over winter they generate 5 GWatts each. For to get the production planned for winter, you should project them to 500 GWatts and more - but we don't have resources for it and their production over summer would be wasted. The people who cannot calculate on behalf of some ideology are predestined to die out..

    Solar output coincides with demand

Except that it doesn't - on the contrary.

I am fine, thanks for your concern. I've been busy on some real projects, nothing much changes fast around here, and I needed to get a new sign on to cope with the new software.

As for what I think of President Trump, apart from his hair, I am struck by how much he is like Andrea Rossi in personality. Of course, he is monumentally better at it and more successful. But, like Rossi, he deceives; he makes promises he know he can't keep; he seems to have no conscience and no regard for the truth; he is neither well educated nor refined in any way -- frankly, I find President Trump terrifying. And not that I liked Secretary Clinton either but at least she had experience in government, which Mr. Trump totally lacks. I thought another parallel with Rossi was sort of cute. Rossi calls his non-existent robotic factories "a magnificence". Trump calls his non-existent plan to revoke and replace "Obamacare" and he describes all his promises by such adjectives as "wonderful" and "superb" and of course, the legendary "hewooodge!" (huge).

I fervently hope I am wrong about Trump and I do agree with some of his ideas. I think the US needs some sort of better border/immigrant control, though not necessarily the Draconian measures Trump proposes. And I agree that the previous governments have not taken enough care to protect USA interests in treaties and trade deals. Also that military weapons contracts and pharmaceuticals are giant ripoffs and hugely overpriced. Remains to be seen if Trump will actually succeeds in fixing those. I hope he has better luck with USA problems than he had with his casinos and his marriages.

I saved this in a file in case admins want it relocated to another string.

  • Except that it doesn't [coincides with demand] - on the contrary.

It does in Germany. On weekdays, anyway. Here is a close-up look at August 8 - 10 last year (Monday - Wednesday).

Also, they have a lot of energy storage capacity in Germany, such as pumped water storage, so even if it does not coincide it is not wasted.

I do not know where the graph you showed comes from or where it applies, but in most of the U.S., peak summer electric power demand is in the afternoon, mainly because of airconditioning. That is why Georgia Power charges a lot more in summer with their "Nights and Weekend" discount. That is why in parts of Texas, electricity is free at night. Use as much as you like. They have excess capacity from wind turbines.

  • A list of the Donald Trump executive orders so far:

    1. The first of many executive orders signed by Donald Trump was an order that commands federal agencies to "ease the regulatory burdens" of Obamacare, and has them slowly repeal what was put in place by the Obama administration.

    2. A freeze on all hiring for the federal government, excluding military. This is intended to help shrink the size of the government.

    3. The US withdrawal from the TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal) which Trump and many of his supporters say is a "great thing for the american worker."

    4. The reinstating of the Mexico City Policy, which bans the federal government from sending funds to groups that preform abortions or lobby to legalize or promote abortion. This policy goes in and out of effect depending on if the President is red or blue.

5-6. Two orders reviving the Keystone XL pipeline and Dakota Access pipeline.

7-9. He also signed three other related orders that would speed up the permitting process for infrastructure projects related to the pipelines. Directing the Commerce Department to streamline the manufacturing permitting process. And give the Commerce Department 80 days to maximize the use of U.S. Made steel for the pipeline.

    10. A memorandum calling for a 30 day review of the Military's readiness for war.

11-12. Two multi-purpose orders on border security and immigration reinforcement including the authorization of "The Wall" the stripping of federal money sent to sanctuary cities, hiring 5,000 more border patrol agents, ending "catch-and-release" policies for illegal immigrants, and reinstating local and state immigration reinforcement partnerships.

    13. A 120-day suspension of the refugee program and a 90-day ban on travel to the U.S. from citizens of seven country's that the Obama administration put on their "high risk" list. (This order has since been blocked, as far as I know.)

    14. An order to lengthen the ban on administration officials working as lobbyists. There is now a 5 year-ban on officials becoming lobbyists after they leave government, and a lifetime ban on White House officials lobbying on behalf of a foreign government.

    15. A memorandum directing "Mad Dog Mattis" to draw up a plan within 30 days to crush the Islamic State.

    16. A memorandum to restructure the National Security Council and the Homeland Security Council.

    17. An order instructing agencies that whenever they introduce a regulation, they must first abolish two others.

    18. A memorandum instructing the Labor Department to delay implementing an Obama rule requiring financial professionals who charge commisions, and giving advice on retirement, to put their client's interests first.

    19. An order directing the treasuring secretary to review the 2010 Dodd-Frank financial regulatory law.

  • Zephir - no offense. What are you trying to get across? that Germany is an industrial country? I am trying not to read any more in this.

As far as your litany, yes this (your list) seems fair. I think your copy/pasta is about points 5-9.

Please make a point or at least a position on a point. He will do a lot of things in the next 4 years. So what about 5-9. Not that you ask but his point seems to be that he is trying to re-industrialize the US from a service economy (to me that is) based on 5-9. But regardless he seems to me to be the most unconventional president that the U.S. has had in my lifetime. That is putting it mildly.

    • Official Post

Any kind of structure, natural or man made, seems to attract fish. I do not know why. In the U.S. they are sinking old New York City subway cars and old aircraft carriers offshore to attract fish and grow coral. See photos here:

If you do not mind, I will send this to Trump. Looks like we need to increase offshore drilling to enrich the oceans, and save the planet one oil rig, and fish at a time.

  • If you do not mind, I will send this to Trump.

Don't tell him! Don't tweet that. He doesn't read books or newspapers so he'll never know unless you tweet it.

Too late Zephir, you and Jed are partially responsible when Trump starts drilling more oil rigs.

It will be your fault if you tell him.

Fish do as well on oil-rig structures

They do, actually. Except when there is a blow-out.

Overall, fish may benefit from global warming. Coral is dying off but those fish are going to have a lot more real estate. Such as Florida.
