Pondering putting a 1 ohm resistor in, but somewhat concerned for my multimeter. I suppose as long as the meter is not connected or disconnected while the arc is on, it should be OK.

I can pull the ground wire off and it keeps arcing almost exactly the same.
The control circuit only uses 4.2 W, so hard can self-looping be? -

I just spent all today working with my cheap Harbor Freight multimeter and couldn't figure out the problem with my sprinkler system. I wish I had a 1 ohm resistor

I got a box of twenty 10W large ceramic resistors 1 to 16 ohm (mix of several of each), for 8 bucks at a hobby robot-electronics-3D print store. I burnt several 1 ohm resistors by seeing how much current I could push through them after the DPS1, and a series-parallel block of four 16 ohms to see I could make them glow roasted several more.

Just had a look at ECW since a few months...WTF is going on there?!
Acland's blog became one single "put sentences in Rossi's mouth which he can answer with Yes or No"-filter bubble.
And the people over there celebrate each "Yes" like the winning of a world championship...
Rossi's answers read like he is sitting at home in a deep leather armchair sipping a good red wine in his left hand while laughing about his audience on his smartphone in his right hand...
-
I doubt...Rossi doesn't know what a smartphone is - he would have posted pictures since long...and he - and all other who work for him - has no clue of social media and how to use them for spreading his information and vision and do a great marketing for his revultionary new toy. There is just his all day long posting BS on his blog to keep the ECW folks active...
The other explanation might be (or for sure can olny be): there is nothing of interest or nothing at all to take a pic or a little video from (prototypes, robotic factories, R&D lab, employees, ...)

He had to hire a guy to respond to all blog queries. Otherwise how can he meet the SKL demo deadline?

Sorry barty as LF creator you should/must stay neutral otherwise that means you did an "oriented" forum

The real problem is that NiH/D LENR really works and nobody can tell whether A.R. once, by mistake, had some effect...
Rossi had real effects over and over again. There have also been many parties that reproduced his effects such as Songsheng Jiang, Alexander Parkhomov, and others. The problem is that dealing with powder based systems is tricky due to all the complexities of maximizing hydrogen absorption and then inducing movement in and out of the lattice. I'm convinced that a pure plasma environment is the best route forward because it reduces many of the variables.

This is my personal opinion and not the opinion the forum reflects.
We are open minded, and as long as no one is personal attacking and insulting everyone can tell his opinion.

Is the SKL made to make mainly electricity or heat ?

Dear Andrea,
Can you tell what your main claim is that the testers must verify?
Thanks, kind regards Gerard

Dear Andrea,
Regarding the validation tests:
1. Will the entity performing the E-Cat SKL validation tests provide a report regardless of whether the performance is positive or negative?
2. Will the results of the test be published before the Stockholm presentation, or will they be released at the presentation?
3. Will the testers be able to open up the E-Cat SKL and examine all its inner components?
Kind regards,
Frank Acland

Did you make that up yourself?
I think it will be a classic, forever in the zeitgeist of the Rossi saga.

This is between the red handle horizontal clamps (Gullstrom photo, Stockholm) and fits inside an irrigation tee of the correct size and make (but wrong color), BTW. The 5/16 inch stainless electrodes are threaded directly into (are) the horizontal clamp pistons.

Nope. All credits go to Homer Simpsons when he decided to work home connected. I just wired his 90's home computer to the wi-fi Rossi condo network.

you can make low ohm resistors from copper clad carbon welding rods... that some of the copper off the center.

Hi Paradigmnoia,
Il Dottore reaches 10K celsius. Is he 5 times smarter?
Cheers,

Since I am ionizing nitrogen at almost atmosphere pressure, a significant portion of my plasma is over 5 eV in order for a decent fraction of nitrogen molecules in the energy distribution to be raised to 15.5 eV, the ionization energy for nitrogen. That means the plasma is at least 58000 C.
