  • LED output measurement is non-trivial

    ...

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has recently developed and expanded capabilities for calibrating LEDs for photometric, radiometric, and colorimetric quantities and provides various calibration services for LEDs. This article discusses measurement of luminous Intensity, total luminous flux, total spectral radiant flux, and color quantities of LEDs, as well as NIST measurement facilities and calibration services for LEDs.

    ...

The luminous intensity measured under these standardized conditions is called the CIE Averaged LED Intensity, since the value can be slightly different from the real (far-field) luminous intensity of the LED. The two distances are distinguished by Condition A and Condition B, for 316 mm and 100mm, respectively. This CIE recommendation should be used for intensity specification of individual LEDs. This recommendation does not apply for LED clusters, arrays, and fixtures made with LEDs.

  • I do not think that AR will not try to launch Ecat SKLed. AR is running out of money and has no other "partners" to scam. Now the only solution is a mass SCAM.

I think that Ecat SKLed will actually consume more than an equivalent LED -> Will AR put in miror same led used in SKLed and SKLed to see the difference?

  • The LED used in the SKLed will be optimized for a particular voltage and current as provided by the Ecat SKL. So the naked LED used in the SKLed probably can't be simply plugged into the mains to see what it produces.

Here's a very simple alternative that doesn't require the complication of luminosity measurement equipment and procedures.

Let's say the SKLed draws 5 watts from the mains, as shown by a wattmeter.

Let's imagine that the Ecat SKL within the SKLed produces a power gain of 5.

The SKLed should then produce the brightness of a 25 watt LED light.

So ... simply have on hand a certified, off the shelf, high efficiency, cold white 25 watt LED light, plug it in, and confirm via a wattmeter it is drawing 25 watts of power from the mains.

By simple visual inspection, the luminosity from the SKLed should be about the same as the store bought 25 watt LED.

If it is, we have a winner and the SKLed works as advertised, QED.

What was advertised was "orders of magnitude", so 100x better.

Plus there are no 25 watt led bulbs I can find with a quick search, only 25w equivalent at 3w draw. I think the new scam will work along these lines, saying it is a 25 watt bulb. Remember Rossi is now targeting the stupidest, nigerian 419 scam style.

  • A whole lot of potential cheating options, if there is a black (or blue :-)) box with a bright LED on top.... Everybody remembers the Orbo scam....the mistake they made: they sent out real samples to crack and find out what's in there. Rossi for sure will not do that, but find other simple excuses why he cannot deliver one single piece nor the millions of SKLEDs to his ECW followers. I do not expect him rolling out a big marketing campaign via mainstream media, in order to collect the million required orders - as serious business partners or companies in such a business would do.

Marketing, explaining and presenting a world-changing technology on his JONP and a little board of gullible followers is one of the best indications for a scam... :)

Even a simple cheap LED lamp requires an electrical safety certifiacte and a CE mark - we all know that there won't be any for his new "product"... I would love to see how Rossi will deal with the required RoHS conformity, which is a must to be compliant to the normative requirements in the European Union. How can a certfication lab confirm, that Rossi's black box (nuclear? plasma? radiation?) is free of hazardous and dangerous parts and elements? Or what about radio approval? Etc. etc...

All ECW readers should spent some time to get familiar with such rules, before speculating all day long what magic product will be on display this November.

    Just as a sample (recommended for Mark U :) .... https://www.compliancegate.com…standards-european-union/

It's a language thing. Using a search, I discovered that when Rossi uses the phrase "orders of magnitude" he often does not mean it literally. This is one of those cases. After all, Rossi has admitted in one post that the power gain is not greater than 20 and in another post that the gain is greater than 4.

About the 25W LED bulb, that is a 25 W draw. It should not be too hard finding something in that ballpark. It will be bright. With a wattmeter on it there should be no question.

Not only literally, he does not understand the gap between 4 and 20, for him one thing is as good as another just spreading of bullshit. Anyway his courtiers pay no attention to it because they are completely subjected to the magician.

    Here is another way:

Ask AR to make a few dozen SKLed and distribute them for free to major publications. Any product launch involves the distribution of free samples (for independent review) especially when they are cheap. Until then ... this thing smells like SCAM ... and what smells like SCAM is a SCAM

If AR had a light like he's advertising, he could go to Boeing, an automaker, an indoor farming company etc and they would be happy to talk with him and test it out. If it worked as advertised maybe they would form a partnership with him, and commit to purchasing a large number of them. Perhaps they would even invest capital so that manufacturing could be done at large scale.

But AR only talks about a mysterious customer, who is likely an associate or off-shoot of AR himself. AR wants the pre-orders emailed into info@leonardo1996... That's exactly the same thing he's been doing for years. Almost all of those pre-orders will be coming from the people who read and believe what is written on e-catworld. It just never ends.

  • It just never ends.

I think that he will run out of money. It seems that this moment is approaching and he is desperately trying to find a solution because with its history he cannot approach any company that has capital for investments in risky projects. Do you know at this moment any company that is doing business with AR/Leonardo Corp? From where AR has the money ... (excluding lawsuits - ex: Industrial Heat Case)

  • It's a language thing.

No, it's a BS thing. Any competent engineer or physics student knows exactly what an order of magnitude is. Certainly a Dotore Eng Rossi should know.

I don't see such a bulb. Link? Remember all Rossi's parts come from Home Depot. He has no partner to supply it because he is a fraud.

  • I think that he will run out of money.

Why would he run out of money? His income is from his condos and I doubt a few parts from Home Depot costs that much. The only thing he's actually producing is bullshit. It's not like he's REALLY investing in "robotic factories".

  • Haven’t been paying attention lately. So the incredible invention that 10 years ago was going to solve humanity’s energy problems has been improved so many times that it is now just a light bulb?

Yes, but it is a REALLY cool light bulb that is cube shaped and cannot work in a light bulb socket, just plugged in to the wall, because electricity is different in the socket versus the wall.

  • I guess it is just another step in the ongoing evolution of e-cat technology. From a 100 kW energy source to a small room heater to a pocket-sized power source to a light bulb. Next up: the e-cat paperweight. That one will actually work!
