    Exactly what I mean.

Got it! As do you, of this I am sure.

    -example of use-

There is more to something (Rossi and the rollout of US based CMNS energy tech) than meets the eye.

    - phrase - more than meets the eye -

A situation is more complicated than it seems.

    Synonyms:

    Complicated and difficult to understand

    complicated

    difficult

    complex

    elaborate

    confused

    confusing

    incomprehensible

    intricate

    contorted

    involved

  • Everyone shows himself to me today

    From the most favorable side.

And from near and far the dear ones

    Have touchingly written to me

And have presented me with all

That such a gourmand thinks about,

That for the man in years

    Can still come into consideration.

    Everyone approaches with sweet tunes

To beauty for me the day.

    Even the beggars without number

    Dedicate to me their madrigal.

    Therefore I feel elated

    Like the proud eagle.

Now the day approaches the end

I pay to you my compliment.

    You have made everything well,

    And the lovely sun laughs.

  • :D :D :D This believer is so dull that lose and didn't rush to buy the E-Cat SK version ready to be installed (but as usual completely disappeared from radars) that the magician presented to the world with great fanfare since from 2019. :D :D :D

  • Sam, along with Rossi, you have been thanked for your link on JONP by two obvious sock puppets, Prof and Norma. Rossi has actually signed his name as Norma, and Prof's incessant posting of the ResearchGate link and total reads is legendary sock puppetry. So in effect you have been thanked by Rosi 3 times. He must really like your link.

Can you do me a favor and respond to Norma asking if she is a real person, and ask if she can tell a little about "herself". This would be hillarious.

Also, please ask Prof a couple of questions, like at which university are you a professor, what are you a professor of, and why do you constantly post the same darn message hundreds of times about total reads.

  • Truth and PFD are a Lovely Couple.

  • I believe, perhaps delusionally, we can all agree that there is more to Rossi than meets the eye.

Truth be told, reasons, motives, outcomes, future historians will correct any and all such errors in our opinions and meanderings here.

Yes indeed, but not in quite the way you mean.

There was a fascinating in-depth write-up of him by a woman reporter (forgive me - someone else will need to find the link) based on his staying with her + husband for a few days. She highlighted how charismatic he was - a perfect dinner partner - late-night conversations over meals in which he communicated enormous enthusiasm and an ability to talk about a very wide range of topics. They would go out to smart cafes (Rossi was smart) and talk.

This made a lot of sense to me. I can see how his background (philosophy of science, personal experience of getting stuff to work) would allow him to seem extraordinarily impressive - at what to the specialist is a superficial level. Rossi has always run miles from specialists: for example he likes to get theoretical nuclear physicists to validate calorimetry - he gets from them academic credentials without the expertise to question his work.

We know that Rossi makes these (elementary to a specialist) mistakes. They are not however detectable to academics working outside their own field. Academics tend to be trusting and when they know something is outside their field they trust that others (Rossi) who provide superficially plausible explanations are on the level, as long as they seem to share the curiosity and enthusiasm that characterise a good researcher.

Anyway, this was several yaers into the saga and it gelled for me how Rossi managed to attract high-powered followers. He is a fascinating character.

One reason I personally find him interesting is that I share with him a "jack-of-all-trades" ability to be interested in everything, pick it up quickly, and talk even with experts in a way that is impressive. It is fun, and a useful skill, but no substitute for hard work and rigorous checking.

My own life has led me to see the need for rigor - Rossi's has not. Then again - Rossi is a man of action - why do you need rigor when you can invent the next generation of e-cat? And, also, Rossi is an inveterate liar. There he is exactly the opposite of me. I find even social white lies to be very difficult (I wish i could do them - white lies are helpful).

So - agree or disagree with what I have written here - you can see why I find him fascinating, and also why I believe a selected group of others would easily fall under his charismatic spell.

    THH

PS - I also detest his transparent but loathsome deceit.
