Rossi-Blog Comment Discussion

  • In my opinion, this was the best ICCF conference in a long time. [...] What brought this partial renaissance about? The magic ingredient is money. M-o-n-e-y. [...] The money is coming from I.H. and two other sources. [...]

Thanks to Rossi (the LENRenaissance man), and the promoters and supporters of Ecat initiative. A successful business strategy:

[…] He has done a lot of things right. If he succeeds, people will say this business strategy was the stuff of genius. In the future, they will teach his methods at the Harvard Business School."

    No doubt he succeeded.

  • Given the high caliber of these serious contenders, I find it baffling that so many people here are so inclined to bicker about that two-bit crook still. The field is moving on, despite the assertions of the willfully ignorant amongst us.

I think the high caliber contenders are losing

the LENR race to dark horse Dr Rossi

  • Given that you refer to him as “Dr Rossi”, you clearly siimply accept anything the man says as truth without regard to any facts. Good luck with that.

Agreed. You know he doesn't have a doctorate right? And he's already making noises about abandoning the QX for the SK. Thereby continuing his pattern (hey! Why fix it when people like you still believe in it?)

  • You might be right about the first

    prediction.

But I am unwavering on the April 1

2019 or before launch date of the QX.

Sam - since as has been pointed out Rossi is rowing back from doing anything with the QX you may join us sooner than that. Will you come over to the light side when Rossi makes it clear he has ditched the QX and the SK (or whatever) will take longer than April 2019 to commercialise?

  • This high caliber contender is coming

    on fast THH.

I do not accept everything Rossi says

as truth. He gets mixed up sometimes like the rest of us.

I usually refer to Dr Rossi as Rossi

or A.R. on blogs unless I send a comment to his blog.

I call him DR Rossi when someone

calls him a con man on Lenr Forum.

According to this 2004 article anyone

with a degree in Italy is called Dr.

Gosh guv, all Italian graduates are doctors

    By Bruce Johnston in Rome

    12:08AM GMT 12 Nov 2004

Italy's passion for personal titles has been formalised with a new law bestowing the title of "dottore" on holders of almost any university degree.

A ministry of education decree states that holders of an ordinary "quickie" three-year bachelor's degree will now be known as "doctor".

The country has decided that graduates of a more high-powered five-year honours degree course will instead be grandly called "magistral doctors", PhD holders will become "doctors of research" and bizarrely, holders of a master's degree will be called nothing at all.

An education ministry spokesman admitted yesterday that a proper title for the holders of a master's had not been included in the new scheme.

As a result, it was likely that those in the category would eventually end up being called "magistral" (coming from Latin, meaning "master") doctors as well.

In polite Italian parlance, calling a person "dottore" or "dottoressa" is a normal way to address someone of evident education.

But in its everyday, sawn-off form of "dottò", when uttered with an accent on the last syllable, it perhaps best translates into "guv".

This is a Rossi comment from his blog.

      Dear Andrea,

You still in schedule to start the deliveries by this year?

      Anonymous:

While the Ecat QX is ready, the SK needs much work, therefore presently we are working more with the SK.

      Warm Regards,

      A.R.

So if the QX is ready it should

      not be long to Market.

He will also have to start making money for him and

his investors as soon as possible.

So if it goes past April 1 of next year then you might be right.

I will not join you but will just

      quit following LENR and move

      on to something else.

Will you join me if I am right

      about Rossi and the QX?

  • I hope you realize I was joking.

Sorry, I can't see the joke. Your November 2011 statement fits very well with others you made along the years, for instance with the following one:

It seems odd that people would risk $11 million on Rossi, but to people who have billions of dollars perhaps it was worth the risk. As I said, the people at I.H. agree with those who say that Rossi reignited interest in cold fusion, and in the end this fiasco may benefit them. It seems like a huge price to pay, but I am not a billionaire or a venture capitalist, and those people are.

You do like Machiavelli, another Italian philosopher. This way of thinking reminds: "Il fine giustifica i mezzi".

The money provided through the Ecat initiative has been very useful, probably essential, for the ICCF21 to be held (*), and for LENR field to stay alive.

Rossi has not succeeded in anything other than larceny.

That's what you say now, but consider that his activity has procured the largest single funding in favor of the CF/LENR field.

(*) For this reason, I disagree with the removing of my previous comment from this ICCF21 thread

  • Sam- i'm not really sure what is the point of will you join me if I am right about Rossi and QX.

That is like saying: will you join me in believing in green 3-eyed martians if they land?

Of course! Who would not. But they ain't landed yet...

I understand that, but as a PhD myself (from Cambridge University) I don't think an Italian 1st degree in Philosophy is any way comparable! Translating Dottore as Dr. does not wash.

  • After several pages of babble here is some news:

"Hydrogen-saturated nickel weighing 1.2 g was used as fuel. The completion of the work is associated with a gradual reduction of excess heat release as a result of exhaustion of the energy resource of fuel. The reactor operated continuously for 225 days, generating 4200 MJ of thermal energy in excess of the consumed electricity (2.2 MeV per nickel atom). The maximum power of heat release is 1400 W at 380 W consumption (COP = 3,7), average 575 W at 355 W consumption (COP = 1,6).

    Best wishes,

    Alexander"

As this is a replication of excess heat from a Ni/H system, confirming Rossi's work, I suppose the babblers will set about trying to show Parkhomov is wrong too. But this will be more difficult so they will return to libeling Rossi.

  • Quote

After my comment above, are you still certain the you can't get excess heat from NiH?

Adrian, I don't think anyone is certain. But considering all the times that nickel and hydrogen (as well as tritium and deuterium and lithium and boron, etc.) have been put together at high temperature and pressure by those studying battery technology and nuclear weapons, to name just two, and no excess heat has caused those experiments to overheat or explode, it does seem pretty improbable. And conventional theory is against it too. That means that if you claim you can get excess heat from "NiH" you'd better have some really stand-up/stand-out proof if you want to be believed outside the small LENR "community."

As for Parkhomov, he will be convincing when he makes a reactor which self runs and does not require the input of large amounts of electricity while supposedly making striking amounts of excess heat.

But this will be more difficult so they will return to libeling Rossi.

Except that the truth, however damaging and derogatory, is not libel.

  • Sam,

To be honest, you are going so far over the top, I can not help but wonder if you are playing games with us? That is some pretty crazy stuff about Rossi you are saying. It is one thing to say he might have something, but you are taking it well past that into acolyte/worship territory.

Not a warning, just an observation.

    I only worship CHRIST ShaneD.

I call it as i see it about Rossi the same as you do.

You and me have different picture of him and that is fine.

The only picture i really care about is whether he succeeds with the Ecat

  • Have you forgotten that PhD stands for Dr of Philosophy?

After my comment above, are you still certain the you can't get excess heat from NiH?

As you well know, Adrian, that was from a time when the hard sciences were all Natural Philosophy, not now when Philosophy is a much narrower discipline.

At least, if you don't know that it would explain a lot of things about your posts here.

  • Well, you will remember that past news from Parkhomov was similarly mouth watering but turned out fallible. So I'll await a decent non-photoshopped writeup before commenting.
