Google to use AI for censorship... Are we already damaged ?

    • Official Post

Beyond the general question about censorship I'm a bit concerned (as a freethinker/crontra-contrarian on many domain) by recent alarmist reports by activists i follow (and mostly disagree with - I'm complicated:S).

It seems that beside French Papal index "Decodex" (by le Monde), Google is launching a censorship/downranking initiative that have already damaged some french sites.

The sites says thay are already greatly damaged, losing 40% trafic.

This is not the question here, except that as we support non-consensual science, we may be indexed.

The affair on LesCrises blog, show that the "rating agencies" behind those initiative like Decodex are often obscure activists with a far from neutral ideology, and a totalitarian vision of truth, mostly right, but not only. Their vision is not far from the high impact journal in physics who damaged LENR research since may 1990.

Are we already desindexed/downrated/downranked? is there professional people who can help us track if we are blacklisted by an agency.

My own probe says nothing negative:), because LENR have already no visibility || (EmDrive is much more mainstream than us).

I think about that quote about "slipping slope" phenomenon

My alerting source here is strange, it is an expert in information strategy and warfare.

  • At a high level I support any efforts by Google and Facebook to deprioritize fake news and extremist sites (assuming this is what you're referring to; not sure). In the US, we've got a lot of people who are easily swayed by scary but unsupported/unsourced claims and who haven't yet learned to engage in the kind of critical thinking needed to sort between various claims made on the Internet. This leaves people open to manipulation, and it's really starting to become a problem for us.

Even though LENR is fringe, I doubt LENR Forum will be flagged as extremist or fake news. Google are probably including a network analysis of which sites are linking to which sites, and we link out to few to none of the sites that would be in Google's crosshairs (just a guess).

These two companies are the 'power behind the power of persuasion'. Mass data-collection used as a tool not just for marketing goods, but for marketing ideas and opinions. To me it seems truly wicked to subvert democracy - which is their sometimes clearly expressed aim - in order to make a living.

During my work at a large network provider I learnt about AKAMAI, that already 15 years ago helped large companies to (secretely - illegaly) track their employees over the entire WWW.

Today the virtual www-cache software of AKAMAI today runs about 60% of the worldwide network traffic - also the LENR-site...

This is very practical, as they have far more knowledge about anybody than google. If you believe that switching off cookies or clearing them regularly will help, that's tempi passati...

They use your IP and bundle all your traffic. They allow others to set server-cookies to track you all over the www. Nobody can escape anymore.

An other nice side-effect of the AKAMAI (NSA) connection is: The can fake your computer with any request of any site you regularly visit. They decide what you get, because they cache all site of all major providers and are free to update them at their will.

Ask the lawmakers to require any provider to randomize your IP before it's used on the WWW. That's the only path to escape...
