While the Covid pandemic is a multi-faceted tragedy, impacting the lives and livelihoods of billions of people, and may lead to unexpected outcomes in terms of new levers of social control, it has one outcome that will be good for the planet.

It has triggered an urge to 'build back better' - which if not merely opportunist political rhetoric is what our planet needs, and also, this is a great dress-rehearsal for 'the big one' - the truly deadly plague that we have not yet seen. Everyone believes that could happen, and if (when?) it does, we will be a tiny bit more prepared to deal with it.
