Caveat Emptor (investors beware)

The Synthestech ICO is "selling out quickly":

Here is another artcicle about the whole thing:

There is no DD taking place, and investors are going only by the "Switzerland" companies "White Paper" showing transmutations, and positive press from the Bitcoin community. No promises either, as the seed money will only be used to start research into commercializing.

We will be able to watch this one unfold in real time, and it will be interesting to see how it ends. Will it be a story about "the fool and his money", or one of rags to riches?

  • Cryptocurrency has a lot of now-wealthy but still-naive youngish investors who are willing to put their cryptowealth into any ‘alt’coin with a half decent story. Even clear parody-token ICO’s are sometimes worth a punt, as historically there is often a "greater fool” who will purchase on when the coins arrive on an exchange.

I’m sure the inherent mix of idealism and momentum will work out just fine - for Synthestech.

What makes this case particularly interesting is that – similarly to blockchain – nobody has managed to use cold fusion tech productively on a commercial scale. Synthestech is gearing up to do both – at the same time

  • Do Synthestech have private financing?

I would imagine that if they wanted some rich individual to stump up a large investment then said individual would demand some actual evidence or proof, which should not be too difficult to do.

The IH example is not a good one as their decisions were somewhat based on certain scientists reports which were not substantiated, but even IH did some investigations which resulted in a decision to walk away .

However it seems you could launch an ICO, for the public, selling a bag of magic beans and not have to demonstrate that you actually have beans or even a bag.

Sad that cold fusion is being used/abused in this scenario.

Sad, but not unexpected. In a controversial field like this, there are all manner of people involved. There are qualified and skilled scientists who have made their career in some relevant field. There are capable engineers, hobbyists and amateurs doing interesting work. There are unskillful and unrigorous scientists and maverick engineers who draw conclusions without having done adequate controls. There are entrepreneurs and inventors who are coy with details for various reasons. There are observers who must rely on others' reports in order to draw any conclusions and so are critically dependent upon an accurate assessment of the credibility of each person or group making a claim (that's most of us here). There are good-natured skeptics who question everything. There are committed skeptics who are attached to their assumptions with religious intensity. And towards the lower tail of the distribution, there are people who smell an opportunity and seek to capitalize on any ambiguity and confusion that might exist by preying on people's hopes and wishful thinking. The important thing is to keep in mind that all of these things are possibilities and, on one hand, to put off drawing firm conclusions until the evidence is overwhelming, and, on the other, to not get drawn into something in the meantime that looks like it might be an ill-conceived research project or a scam.

It's the wild west. Good doses of optimism, skepticism and patience go a long way.

Sounds like another secret effort which wants public investments. I wish they had some substance to the claims otherwise they might slightly damage lenr cause. Good news they are relatively low profile despite all marketing efforts.

    Max,

I agree. Of course, we all wish they are onto something, but if what they are onto is cheating people out of their money, then it will be another blow to LENR. With the stakes so high, the world so in need of an energy revolution as Gates has said, it is a field ready made for scammers and opportunists to fill in the void the science side has yet to fill.

Interesting twist with Syn is that they are admitting....buried in all the hype, the investment money is for research. We shall see if this is just another angle they are working to lure in marks, or something legitimate. The money has already been collected, so nothing to stop it now either way it goes.

Synthestech had such a successful ICO, they decided to start building a lab:

    https://ico.synthestech.com/

News of the project “Synthestech”. We are building our center.

Temporarily we provide discount for STT tokens.

As it was previously reported, we equipped the substance analysis laboratory with everything necessary and started the first test analyzes.

In the near future, we plan to obtain state accreditation of our substance analysis laboratory.

Our task is to master the cold synthesis of platinum metals, and the first data received under working with the mass spectrometer inspire optimism. There is still much to be done ahead, but the outlines of the future work are clear.

In our further plans with the raised at ICO funds, to work in rental units for carrying out experiments on cold fusion and constructing an experimental reactor for cold synthesis of platinum metals.

However, today, having assessed all available resources, we came to the conclusion that we are able to build our laboratory complex. Its construction was planned provided higher level of raised at ICO funds, but today we believe that even in the present conditions we will realize this task. The only thing is that the square will be slightly reduced from the originally planned one up to 420 m2. This is enough for the needs of our work. The work, we are carrying out, requires the protection of our know-how, as well as certain elements of production. Our laboratory complex will seriously facilitate the realization of our objectives.

Thus, we begin to build our declared laboratory complex. The site for the construction is already acquired and we will soon start its construction. We consider that within 3–4 months the complex will be built. It will be used for assembling and launch of experimental reactor for cold fusion of platinum metals.

During the construction a series of experiments on the development of cold fusion of platinum group metals will be conducted on saturated plan.

In this situation attraction of additional financial resources will enable us to realize the task more fully, therefore we decided to temporarily lower the tokens price relatively to the declared price of 1.5 USD. Up to a certain stage, the discount will be 1/3 or 33.33%. That is, STT token of the “Synthestech” project can be purchased for 1 USD.

(Everyone who invested in STT tokens at 1.5 USD will be made the corresponding addition of tokens for 33.33%)

Our laboratory complex will be a good guarantee of your investments, and the technology for cold synthesis of platinum metals, at which we work, will give a right and large-scale profit.
