Max Nozin : I just read 10% excess. Thats well below the 3-4 COP of Stringhams bubble fusion reactor. Did I miss the point?
-
Wyttenbach my point is that there are two independent groups in Ukraine alone. One using cavitataton to stimulate lenr reaction. Another, in radio electronics, detects new form of emissions from cavitation.
Cop is important but would be nice to find the actual mechanism behind it.

Max Nozin : I would be interested in the second point. What kind of emission did they see/measure?

Nanospire has freshened up their website, which is good news. The old one was ugly. Bad news is that they no longer mention their sonofusion. Understandable I guess, as they have a legitimate business side they advertise, and make money from. Being associated with LENR/CF is not usually good for business.
LeClair's radiation poisoning story was interesting to say the least. One of the better ones in the annals of LENR history. Right behind FP's meltdown IMO. I wonder if he is still interested in sonofusion? Hard to imagine his not being, after what he and his partner Sergei claimed to have gone through. And if they are no longer interested, I wonder if anyone has picked up where he and Sergei left off? According to them, the military was partially involved.
If you have any information to add, you can always become a member here, and talk to the staff privately via the conversation function. Whatever you know, will never save the planet remaining a secret. Speak up, and it may.

I missed your post #62 above until tonight. Apologies, Ill take a look at the job - I'm an admirer of Vyssotsky and Kornilova's work.
-
Alan Smith I am too following Vysotskiy and Kornilova cooperation. Except for big claims and blown cheeks I don't see any traction. They even failed to bedazzle iccf crowd with thermal waves presentation.

LeClair's radiation poisoning story was interesting to say the least. One of the better ones in the annals of LENR history.
Actually I've seen no evidence it ever happened. LeClair was asked for documentation of the event (instrument recordings, hospital or doctor's records, etc.) on another forum and he responded with insults. If that's one of the better stories in LENR history, those who favor the reality of LENR are only in more trouble than before.
Here is an opinion about LeClair. I don't insert it here because it would be found too offensive but if you want to read it, you can find it at the link and if not...

Below is what LeClair claimed in 2007 as per [pen name] Alsetalokin in a forum note from 2013. If LeClair had told the truth, shouldn't we have LeClair reactors all over the world by now?
QuoteIn March, 2007 Mark LeClair built and tested the first cavitation reactor powered by the LeClair Effect, based on our patented technology. More research was done from 2007 to 2009 with a variety of other reactor designs that led to a series of key experiments performed from July – August, 2009 under a grant, titled: Utilization of Crystallized Cavitation Reentrant Jets for Zero Point Energy Production.
The goal was to produce a next stage hot water heater reactor based on the LeClair Effect and was awarded by a potential investor focused on promoting cold fusion. Mark LeClair and Serge Lebid discovered that the scaled-up LeClair Effect reactor was triggering intense fusion, fission and large scale elemental transmutation using ordinary water.
The 1.25” ID by 12” long reactor produced 2.9 kW of hot water using only 840 watts of input, a coefficient of performance (COP) of 3.4 times more energy out than in. The water temperature was raised an average of 18 degrees C (32 degrees F) average passing through the reactor with 28 degree C (50 degrees F) temperature spikes observed.
A total of twelve experiments were performed, with 100% repeatability of the high levels seen in excess heat and transmutation in the various configurations.
The large scale transmutation of elements was verified by three separate independent scanning electron microscope elemental analysis (SEM-EDAX) of the transmuted material…
The transmuted elements were produced as chips up to one millimeter in size, in gram amounts and clouded the clear polystyrene dishes they were placed in with rings of nuclear tracks from the radioactive decay of short-lived isotopes. The composition of the transmuted material followed the same patterns as supernova nucleosynthesis, mostly carbon and oxygen (like white dwarves) with decreasing amounts of the heavier elements.
The elemental distribution followed the saw-tooth shaped astronomer’s odd-even rule, with even numbered elements occurring in significantly greater amounts than the odd elements because of the dominance of alpha particle fusion. The isotope ratios matched those seen in both stellar and supernova nucleosynthesis. Many radioactive extinct and non-naturally occurring elements were detected, including isotopes of the transuranic elements. Most importantly, all the rare earths, precious metals and many other key elements were produced in high concentrations, greater than typically seen in most naturally occurring ores.
I didn't even know sawtooth-shaped astronomers even had a society, much less a rule, but there it is.
Another Mark LeClair quote, this time from 2012:
QuoteMark LeClair CEO NanoSpire on November 13 2012 said:
In the cold fusion/LENR only NanoSpire has shown its data, the reactor design from the inside out and is the only cold fusion, LENR, ZPE or cavitation fusion technology that has demonstrated massive transmutation on the gram scale, not as traces. Our radiation data we have posted and the beautiful pictures of the nuclear tracks left by the prompt radiation and by the transmutation product decay speak for themselves. Rossi, Defkalion and Brillouin all hide behind a cloak of secrecy with their reactor designs and their data, NanoSpire is transparent and has shared what we have learned and accomplished to date.
Our transmutated material was redundantly analyzed by several groups, including U. ME, Evans Analytical Group (Shiva Technologies), Media Sciences Corp and Dr. Edmund Storms. All the data from all the analysis groups matched each other and I have signed reports.
We have tried very hard to set up a proper hot cell test with three groups, but these attempts have all been foiled. If anyone thinks its easy to set up "independent" verification, they are wrong. The reach of special interests is long. They promote their puppets while trying to hold NanoSpire back.
Serge and I reached up to 6 million people in our last satellite broadcast, and we have had half a million hits to our website since coming out with our discoveries, but have only received a handful of inquires, mostly from people I already know are associated with competitors and internet trolls that also work for them. We also have seen comments that we have been sent numerous e-mails from some people, but haven't responded. That's because we cant see them, we aren't trying to ignore anybody.
The world would have its conclusive fusion demonstration from NanoSpire some time ago if we weren't so up against the powers that be.
Does this make sense to anyone?
Apparently, he thinks Mary Yugo took an active part in exposing them to radiation when they performed experiments at NRL. Not sure what NRL they mean. The U. S. Naval Research Laboratory? Seriously? See:
QuoteYugo is a friend of the NRL group and has repeatedly tried to help cover up for their wrongdoing. They invited us to an experiment at NRL that was rigged and we received a second radiation exposure from an experiment that we were led to think wasn't working when it was. None of the things NRL promised were delivered. They claimed they would have a gamma ray spectrometer ready after cooling it down over the weekend preceding our visit. This never happened and they produced a cheap hand held gamma detector instead. The gamma ray spectrometer would have proven the creation of transmuted material because of the specific gamma signature of each isotope produced. We were never given dosimeters either, a violation of Federal Law on their part, we were told other radiation experiments were going on besides ours in the lab where dosimeters are always required. The promised radiation shielding, but this wasn't provided either.
Yugo also falsely claimed that the Navy tested our device for comparison against Rossi, this isn't true either. We were doing basic research together with no intent of making any comparisons.

@ShaneD There is much more along the same vein. Just Google Nanospire and LENR. Or LeClair and LENR. I'll let you draw your own conclusions. Hopefully they won't be that this is one of the "better stories" in LENR history.

You completely miss the point.
They switched (using their gained knowledge from soon-fusion) to abrasive material processing. No longer LENR!!!, just ultra fine mechanics

SOT,
Yes, I know the background. I have been following LeClair, and commenting on Nanospire 5 years now. He can be a little strange, and volatile, but then again, he is a legitimate businessman. He also worked with the Navy and has some serious patents to his name.
The radiation sickness story, will remain a story until proof is provided. There is none so far, as you noted. When I said it was my second most interesting story in LENR, that was not an endorsement on it's validity. It could be true, or not, and I had always hoped either he or Sergei would follow up with more experiments, so we would know for sure.
This may be another case where the secret goes to the grave. Hopefully not. If someone takes up our offer for information, maybe we can get some closure on this one.
-
I don't understand why you give positive attention to this unpleasant person with a highly improbable story but you seem to reject my equally reasonable flying pigs. There is at least as much evidence for them as there is for LeClair's having ever been exposed to radiation... and don't forget, he claims it was deliberately done by the U. S. Navy Research Laboratory (US-NRL)!!!! Don't you get it? There is no secret to go to the grave. There is nothing but a non-credible claim. And while anything "could be true," the chance that LeClair's story about NRL is true is about the same as the chance that the flying pigs or Rossi's claims are true.

SOT,
I said he was strange, volatile, and that his radiation story was interesting, but unproven. And you say that is "positive attention". I disagree.
And a secret heading to the grave can be good or bad. In this case, it could be that he made it up, or it happened. Like I said, it would be nice to know for sure. You are certain it did not happen, so just ignore this thread.

EVO (spheromak) formation and subsequent induction of nuclear reactions is a no-brainer in cavitation systems.
Collapsing bubbles have hot plasma core
https://www.nature.com/news/20…28/full/news050228-7.html
In the above article, the researchers used a non-water liquid and argon gas to create cavitation bubbles 2,500 times brighter than typical. I think that just as Ken Shoulders discovered, the addition of a heavy noble gas aids the formation of spheromaks in a plasma where free electrons are present. Once the spheromak is created, you have a nuclear "wood chipper" ready to pulverize some atoms. The nano-spire technique simply focuses the plasma and spheromak towards a specific geometric hole or target to intensify the temperatures/pressures. By varying the liquid, size of the bubbles (a function of the viscosity of the liquid and frequency), the gases used, and the material of the target, I'm pretty confident you can produce a range of nuclear reactions -- some of which could emit unsavory things you don't want to be next to.
-
Max Nozin " Except for big claims and blown cheeks I don't see any traction"
I googletranslated the multi-authored Kornilova paper
The brief theoretical calculations are interesting
She asserts that the cavitation device produces thermal (acoustic?) waves of frequency of at least 70…90 МegaHertz/
This sounds like ultraultrasonics to me , definitely not in the normal range' I'd like to see her at least verify this...not just calculate.
Then thru 'effective Plancks constant' calculations she asserts that these thermal waves cause energy excursions of 50 kev in
the deuterium confined in the TiD2 lattice cracks.
Then there is the "commercialisation within 3 years"...in the video. sounds like big claims
Tsar Putin doesn't give one kopek for this research.. without this it is hard to get traction
perhaps Kornilova will sell another device for a few kopeks??
-
RobertBryant Kornilova didn't sell anything in the past 30-40 years why sudennly now? Judging by the tone of the interview, heroic scinetific past will be the only legacy left.
-

Nobel gases form a chemical complex with H3+! This introduces a stable "+" charge needed for symmetric currents!

This is an interesting concord with the Lipinski's experiments. They used argon in some of their best reported results.
-
Bostic explains in at least one of his papers, in detail, how adding heavier noble gases to the hydrogen mixture allows for easier formation of spheromaks and makes them more stable. I'm 90% certain that the paper was linked to on this forum -- probably by Alan Smith. I don't remember the exact details of the explanation, but I remember that it seemed extremely elegant to me and perfectly logical. Lipinski's experiments were probably producing these same formations, in my opinion. So even if they were producing nuclear reactions in their low energy range (around 200eV if I remember) there could have been additional reactions between lithium and protons taking place inside the spheromaks (especially upon their compression and/or destruction) at higher energies.
