    Holmlid does hot fusion not LENR. I told him he should do the same Rahman measurements of his UDH as Mills but why learn from others....

    Background: Large-scale fusion reactors using hydrogen isotopes as fuel are still under development at several places in the world. These types of fusion reactors use tritium as fuel for the T +D reaction. However, tritium is not a sustainable fuel to use, since it will require fission reactors for its production, and since it is a dangerous material due to its radioactivity. Thus, fusion relying on tritium fuel should be avoided, and at least two better methods for providing the nuclear energy needed in the world indeed exist already. The first experiments with sustained laser-driven fusion above break-even using deuterium as fuel were published already in 2015.

    Interesting:

    - More extensive studies on similar themes will soon bepublished by scientists in this field working in Oslo and Reykjavik.

    - Annihilation energy generation. transfer to kinetic energy is not yet developed.


    Big challenge to explore technology to harvest the annihilation energy. Room for new inventions!

    UDH/UDD links with LENR. Not the muon catalyzed fusion part.

  • I doubt that Cydonia "never understood" the link with LENR, but just because there could be readers that honestly haven't:


    The theory is that molecular hydrogen brought in contact with the commercially available catalysts used by Holmlid's group (Fe-K oxide styrene catalysts) dissociates into an excited atomic form. The excited atoms can cluster together and transition to a lower energy state in desorption from the catalysts, in an exothermic process. This low-energy state hydrogen may then spontaneously engage in nuclear reactions, producing more energy and nuclear products, or be excited for a larger energy release using external inputs (e.g. laser pulses). If the optional pulse-laser excitation is factored out, the overall catalytic process is similar to typical gas-loaded LENR experiments.

  • UDH is the most interesting and glossed over topic in LENR since I started diving deep into it. Dufour used gas loaded tubes and metal powders to. Now isn't that, Mills and Leif related research? Do you have to break/fuse nuclei in order for it to count as LENR? It's ok if it doesn't we may need a different category to open up H centric electroweak/beta pushing and EM mediated bond reaction category, intentionally avoiding intense nuclear shielding stuff. Superstition is what shrouds truth in "magic", if understood it's illuminating holy chemical science and shouldn't be frowned apon 😊. People are mad at breached tradition... a permanent thread should be opened for this catagory moving forward. More interested in binding H*/UDH with larger atoms in functional compounds, like ash oxides in regular fire, than further fusing it.

    I think the 1300x efficiency is a best-case scenario for a single pulse, just taking into account the laser pulse energy into the vacuum chamber.
