CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa will host a lecture on low-energy nuclear reactions (LENR) at 7 p.m., Monday, March 10, in the Center for Energy and Environmental Education Auditorium.
Tom Wind, an Iowa Department of Natural Resources officer, will provide information on this relatively new technology. LENR allows controlled fusion of hydrogen into helium in small modular reactors that can fit on a tabletop. This results in thermal energy with no radiation dangers, radioactive byproducts or combustion of fossil fuels, at a much lower cost than traditional fossil fuels.
This lecture is sponsored by the Recycling and Reuse Technology Transfer Center (RRTTC).
