At 35,000', In the daytime Ivanpah is so bright you can see it from 150 miles away...even when the facility is blocked by the terrain.
I wouldn't know, but that sounds like a problem that can be fixed with some sort of shielding.

Care to explain? I can't think of a shielding that would prevent the glare without being really expensive either and/or rendering the power plant less efficient.

The glare is bothering airplane pilots, so I suppose it should be placed above the tower, like a giant parasol. Perhaps that cannot done with this tower, but if they build another in the future, it can be.

That is a trivial number of birds compared to how many are killed by coal smoke, and steam from combustion and nuclear plants. For that matter, cats kill approximately 2.4 billion birds, and about 1 billion are killed by whacking into windows which reflect the sky.

Low tech but nifty. Sometimes simple technology works best. For example, in much of the world, bicycles remain the most cost effective and best method of transportation. Even in high tech Japan they are still widely used for commuting from home to the railroad station.

I would be surrounded by motorways and I constantly need to clean the tables from dirt. I do not complain and ask them to move the
motorway or to forbid gas cars that pollute.

Computing centers use 2-3% of the worlds current - at least and bit coins need even more. To much light, to old fridges, to warm not isolated houses and worst SUV's instead of bicycles...
Most energy simply is spoiled.
You also can ramp up bio gas to cover about 10% of today's gas. Not like US "bio corn fuel" bio gas is made from waste....
