  • Report: Japan's "hydrogen society" policy "has clearly been a complete failure"

Maybe the people at the Renewable Energy Institute should assess LENR hydrogen

    next time.

It was established in August 2011, in the aftermath of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident, by its founder Mr. Son Masayoshi, Chairman & CEO of SoftBank Corp., with his own resources."

Interesting information. Thank you. For some reason, humanity has not responded to a completely cheap direction - obtaining water-fuel emulsions using hydrowave technology ... The scheme is simple and understandable ... You process any dirty water with any degree of pollution (and even LRW). As a result of processing, you get a distillate, which you mix with diesel fuel in the proportion of 95% distillate and 5% diesel fuel, and then this mixture is processed using hydrowave technology. As a result, you get a water-fuel emulsion (WFE), which is essentially a "hydrogen fuel"... You can burn it and get both heat and electricity...

Water-fuel emulsion in a proportion - 80% of distillate and 20% of diesel fuel... - The photo shows a white liquid in a glass flask.

I'm not surprised. The science has been subject to political guidance (by which I mean pressure) to the point where science, logic and the environment is being ignored. I have an acquaintance working it Mitsubishi (Energy division) who tells me he has stopped attending meetings with government ministers, since they are a total waste of time.

  • I'm not surprised.

    Neither am I.

Somewhat related, here is an interesting article about a U.S. nuke that is producing hydrogen for its own use:

". . . Constellation’s new Hydrogen Generation System produces hydrogen without emissions by using electricity generated at the plant to split water into hydrogen and oxygen.

The system started producing clean hydrogen in February to supply hydrogen for plant operations—a process that was previously dependent on trucked-in deliveries of hydrogen made from fossil fuels."

  • Most charts would refer to this as pink, red, or purple hydrogen. To call it green is, literally, greenwashing ;)

Perhaps, but they need hydrogen to operate the nuclear reactor. I think it is better to produce it this way than to use "trucked-in deliveries of hydrogen made from fossil fuels." It is a choice between bad and worse.

  • This is a little off topic, but I found it amusing - and related to self-driving cars (and probably electric ones at that).

In 2022 Ford Motor Company filed a patent that provided for completely autonomous vehicles to drive themselves back to a dealership if the user had fallen behind on loan repayments.

The patent also made provision to use 'remote access' to make the car less comfortable to use leading up to auto-repossession - for example, progressively disabling add-ons like the heater, radio, and satnave.

In the event the car's computerised service history (or lack thereof) and age, general condition, or a developing fault makes return to a dealer un-economic the patent makes provision for the car to drive itself to a scrappage/recycling center.

  • SCIENTISTS DISCOVER ENZYME THAT CAN TURN AIR INTO ELECTRICITY

    WOAH.

Scientists Discover Enzyme That Can Turn Air Into Electricity
Australian scientists have discovered a new bacterial enzyme that can turn air — yes, seriously — into working electricity.
    futurism.com

In an exciting turn for the field of sustainable energy research, Australian scientists have found a way to make energy out of thin air. Literally.

As detailed in a new study published this week in the journal Nature, researchers from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia discovered a new bacterial enzyme that transforms the traces of hydrogen in our atmosphere into electricity, technology that could one day be used in fuel cells that power anything from a smartwatch to even a car.

  • I do not find it amusing. This leads to the future where you make a "wrong" post somewhere on social media, which triggers AI to lower your social credit score, which triggers your loans to be recalled by banks, which triggers your car to self-drive into the car dealership, etc.

Canadians already got a taste of this future last year. Many of those who made a donation to truckers, which was legal thing to do at the time, found their bank accounts frozen: the government issued orders which made it retro-actively illegal to donate to truckers. It is just icing on the cake that the truckers were protesting the government's unconstitutional orders on de-facto forced injections (vax or loose your job).

  • Yes, as I said above: “Life Always Finds The Way”. As recalled at the top of this page, Bacterial enzymes can unite nitrogen and hydrogen to form ammonia, and it is known that bacteria can oxidize molecular hydrogen to produce energy, and thus reproduce. by autotrophy by chemosynthesis.

Oddly enough, there are many places on Earth where hydrogen naturally comes out of the ground in large quantities. In Virginia, there are hydrogen sources in large circular structures in the swamps, and similar structures are found in Russia.

Hydrogen is not found in reservoir rocks containing petroleum or natural gas. We can therefore deduce that this hydrogen is used by living forms in the deep biosphere to reduce the unsaturated carbon compounds present in oil. We will probably find them one day.

But there is very little hydrogen in the air, and this discovery is a scientific anecdote that will do nothing to solve the energy problems of humanity. I hope that our Fusion Diodes will begin to solve this problem within a reasonable time.

  • U.S. renewable electricity surpassed coal in 2022

U.S. renewable electricity surpassed coal in 2022
Growth in wind and solar significantly drove the increase in renewable energy and contributed 14% of the electricity produced domestically in 2022.
    www.renewableenergyworld.com

Electricity generated from renewables surpassed coal in the United States for the first time in 2022, the U.S. Energy Information Administration jas announced.

Renewables also surpassed nuclear generation in 2022 after first doing so last year. . . .

. . . “This booming growth is driven largely by economics,” said Gregory Wetstone, president and CEO of the American Council on Renewable Energy. “Over the past decade, the levelized cost of wind energy declined by 70 percent, while the levelized cost of solar power has declined by an even more impressive 90 percent.”

“Renewable energy is now the most affordable source of new electricity in much of the country,” added Wetstone.
