LENR Futures - what will they look like?

  • Now you sound like a LENR detractor. We have all hear it "there isn't enough energy available for the reaction to proceed by the proposed pathway" and yet there is abundant evidence that nuclear reactions occur below the expected energy requirements.

You mix two things: Fusion can happen without any energy input.. But Kaons are not a product of fusion - its fission of a proton. 53MeV is given by table = measurement...

There are many good models other than your own. Have you ever look at Pharis Williams model? He reports presenting it while work at Sandia National Laboratories. His model offers an alternative for quarks. The response he got was two parts. The math is good as far their best minds could tell and that given that they preferred to work with the standard model.

No he sounds like a logical observer who checks the numbers. Keon and muon production are not nessasary for a energy production device with the stats that SAFIRE's team shared. Saying a particular example isn't high energy enough to be fusion or annialation of nuclei does not mean he is saying it is fake or the energy is from standard hydrogen oxidation densities. It can be a breakthrough of amazing proportions without being fundamentally nuclear in energy scale.

We are not talking Safire but rather https://www.researchgate.net/p…_chamber_with_D-T_mixture

The article propose energies high enough for Kaons. "Using the energy converter allows protons to gain energy, which is required for generation the pions (E=140 MeV). The decay of pions, as is well know, leads to generation of muons and muon neutrino."

Kaons decay to pions so you are being picky. Saying there can only be fusion and not fission also is just being picky.

You suppose fusion without energy input, maybe so. But the process we are discussing is proposed to be a form of proton acceleration. What I suppose is suggested by the linkage to Homlid is that the formation of density hydrogen may have an energy input to cause the reaction.

  • OK thanks for clarifying.

  • Drgenek Yes and the energy supplied by the plasma device rather than a laser! As Director has pointed out many times the plasma double layers can potentially function as particle accelerators for protons, deuterons or ultra dense cluster combinations of both. These can then interact with a Ni / Pd target preloaded with deuterium to induce controlled nuclear fusion. Simple test of this would be to insert preloaded Ni/Pd mesh into the SAFIRE reactor and measure the excess heat, gamma and neutrons produced.. Or replace the heater in the Mizuno reactor with a plasma device. Maybe Rossi has hit on this combination with his new e-Cat SKL, ideas are cheap in this game it's being able to put them to the test and come up with the goods that's difficult. Good luck to him if he has although I totally doubt it!:)

Based on capacitance, the potential between layers should have an big effect. So ball plasma based on water could produce 10 or 100 times more energetic particles than double layers in hydrogen only. For the math for the boson condensation, I suggest Pharis Williams' phats. I think that the combination of potential of the individual layers might be described that way. Perhaps this math would also apply to systems using a very small about of water dispersed in liquid metal subjected to high current. Metal would certainly be better to modulate the nuclear reaction products, muon reactions or other nuclear reactions, maybe even provide a basis for thermodynamics that combines the nuclear and chemical scale, picochemistry.

  • Drgenek your paper shared talks about crystals as piezoelectric.

Interesting because piezoelectric crystal have an perovskite structure.

There were in the past positive attempts by some type of these crystals which were heated under D2 loading with XH seen.

Are you insinuating that piezoelectric crystals or those that have a perovskite structure would facilitate electrical energy conversion from power production inside or simply is a better medium for hydrogen/metal reactions to take place? Will check soon.

Is there publication of the ratio of gamma/neutrons detected and amount of heat and reaction products or apparent transmutations? Across most documented similar experiments the outputs intriguingly, as far as known physics is concerned, lean on to interesting action happening on the subnuclear table. I agree mostly that putting a plasma surrounding and stimulating energy release from loaded metals would work better than the past heater implementations.

Ratios of heat out to heat in are impressive but low of value. They also indicate that hydrogen can move in the matrix. In the aforementioned patent, they can focus the electric potential of the crystal to get KeV photon and hence produce X-rays from a target. They say a use maybe to make a fusor. If proton velocity can sum and the path of the protons are limited to fixed site, then the crystal can become the fusor. Those hotspots likely leave some structure damage in the crystal.
