Rossi: The final chapter

    From technological point of view maybe California beaches and tennis clubs are better than in Florida.

    Sam - those comments are, you will remember, typical for Rossi.


    Perhaps you would like now to reflect on what he is actually saying. let us ignore 3 and 4. Direct conversion to electricity is completely irrelevant as far as the development of a system that works and is commercially attractive goes. Any "free energy" system with the properties claimed by Rossi, without direct conversion to electricity, would be amazing and incredibly attractive.


    Note 2. Rossi is saying that he does not yet have a working ecat-SK product. Let us put this into context:


    (1) Rossi developed the hot-cat

    (2) Rossi has this independently tested (successful), and licenced the IP to IH, who produced many hot-cat examples for testing. Note that Rossi still controlled the IP for all of Europe - a big market. we know that IH had credible plans for massive further investment (much more than $100M) and commercialisation of the devices, if they worked.

    (3) Rossi tested (not the hot-cat, but an earlier less good incarnation also covered by the IH license) for one year, with, according to Rossi, highly successful results, COP=50, continuous (or almost continuous) operation.

    (4) Rossi sued IH for $100M, claiming that he had to do this because he needed the IP back

    (5) IH produced evidence that the devices Rossi had given them did not work.

    (6) Before the Court case, which would have tested Rossi's testimony under penalty of perjury, Rossi settled for no money, and IH giving him the IP back

    (7) Rossi abandoned the IP (both original e-cat as tested for one year, and hot-cat as independently tested and given to IH) stating that customers were no longer interested in this, because the ecat-SK was so much better.

    (8) Rossi, 18 months later, is now saying that the ecat-SK is in R&D, with personally hand soldered control boxes. He has never given any evidence showing it better than the earlier well-tested (he claims) products.


    As somone familiar with electronic design and manufacture I'd point out that hand soldering is what you do with an initial proof of concept prototype - and even then university students doing projects (let alone industry) will often choose pcb design and assembly from one of the many cheap suppliers because this leads to better quality. In industry, even in tiny companies, it is usual to have in-house assembly (although as I say this is mostly farmed out) done by technicians skilled in soldering different from designers - that is unless you are a one man band. Rossi has I believed often claimed to have some 60 or so employees, although no evidence of these has ever existed.


    What do you conclude from this - other than that Rossi is a fantasist whose statements and promises bear no relationship to the truth?


    Max speaks truth above: Rossi is not a good liar. In fact he has never been a good liar: he is however a superb fantasist, whose fantasies are uniquely attractive to some people, and a charismatic figure.

    If Rossi is finished and done, I will not conclude, but If he is a scammer he should have taken the millions and setled down years ago on some sunny Island and ease down with his lady in the later part of his life.


    But I know, he is a sociopath, that lives for attention 😏


    Anyhow, I do not judge his followers, since we all look for some hope of clean energy in this polluted world.


    And since Nickel Hydrogen research started with Piantelli and Focardi and they found some anomalies, it would be pure logic that Focardi thought Rossi had something, since using Nickel powder creates much more surface area. And I believe the conclusion so far on Any LENR device, is that this is a surface phenomenon.


    My take is that Rossi is an Inventor and not a business entrepenour. And when inventors try to be business men, they are very seldom successful.

    Rossi is a crook. Nothing more. If you have not read his full record of activities since at least 2011 and his dealings even before that with DOD and the Italian government and a province, then you have no clue whatever.


    Ahlfors Any paper with Rossi's name as an author is DOA (dead on arrival). If the authorship includes a well known and credible figure like Focardi, it just means that person was bamboozled and flummoxed by Rossi.

    Please try and not take it so personal when we beat up on Rossi. Many of the harsh comments have their basis in the released court documents, so there is justification. Those documents revealed a very manipulative, and flawed character capable of the utmost deceit. That he got away with it, without some type of punishment makes the anger all the more palpable.


    Rossi could wipe away the criticisms at this very moment...if he has something, and proved it. His doing so would be a gift to those whom have stood by him through thick and thin (mostly thin) for 8 years now. Not just you, Sam and the others, but the professors, Levi, Lewan, Acland, Cook, Fabiani, Penon, and the many more whom have defended him all these years. Some even paid for their loyalty at the cost of their reputations, and would be most grateful if Rossi would do his part to restore it. But he won't, which tells you something about the man.

    You mean the conviction of tax fraud in Italy? Is there any other convictions?


    By the way, the responsible police officer that investigated and arrested Rossi, where himself convicted for ties to the Mafia a few years back, so who knows what really went on back then. The Camorra controls the waste business, which Rossi tried to get into, not smart.

As to criminality, recently, he obtained money from Industrial Heat though fraud and lies. This is amply documented in the pretrial testimony of his own lawsuit. He did the same to prior associates and distributors (yes, I know some was returned but so what?). Rossi also roundly cheated, lied and defrauded DOD with phony claims and made up stories about a high efficiency thermoelectric converter. This is well documented via Gary Wright. You really need to keep up.


    As to the older Italian frauds and illegal activities in which Rossi dumped toxic waste into irrigation channels-- that is amply documented by Krivit via contemporary newspaper reports of the time. Do you need a link?

    On the other hand, your positions can be understood considering Rossi folklore.

    Also, I can appear as a jerk and seem to be an indefectible supporter of Rossi, it is not necessarily the case.

    For all these years, I have followed all these analyzers, scientific shearers about Rossi's work, and it's a most distressing poverty.

    No synthetic mind, only quick reasoning just to make noise, most of the time.

    The claim of not achieving anything in business, would prove my point when saying Rossi is an inventor and not a business entrepenour. And inventors is often very suspicous of others (like " they will steel my invention, for sure").


    And when inventors do not trust investors, the business will die.


    When judging Rossi, I would say the best is to look at convictions, not rumors and heresay.


    Anyhow, I doubt Rossi will achieve much success going forward. But I do believe there is something to Nickel Hydrogen systems, just because it started with real scientists, like Piantelli and Focardi, prior to Rossi involvement. And Piantelli, Focardi and others found anomalies.

        Mats, many thanks for all the deep research and analysis you do on Rossi, having brought your first signed book (which I am happy to sell now to help our work in Ghana for those with no clean water etc.) I am interested if in your second book you will be exploring the possible position the science of Cold Fusion would be in now, if Rossi had shared his discoveries (if genuine) from the beginning.

        He would of course have needed to be very well rewarded by the Society that he is helping and his further Research have been well funded, but having the millions of scientists Worldwide having confirmable Proof of his effect and immediately working on improvements, could have advanced our position many fold.

        Or will this situation not be covered?

            Thanks Georgehants. First I plan to finish my book with a third edition, telling the end of the story, which will obviously also be the beginning of something new. I hope to do this within a year.

            Then I have some ideas for another book, but I will come back to that later.
