Nuts to that. Until complete results are published, this is a rumor. Not just that, everyone who here who wants LENR to be regarded as a scientific field should be adopting exactly the same attitude as me.
Scientific naivete is a huge problem on this site.

And so is misplaced scientific dogmatism.
Then again abject pessimism achieves nothing, this is just enthusiasm not naivete for some good news. Many replicators struggling with this for months and expending limited funds will be encouraged by this.

The gulf between 'rumour' and 'published in Nature' is pretty wide. It's not a binary, even if one wished it so.
And so is misplaced scientific dogmatism.
The attitude I am suggesting is open-minded. Much much more open minded that I am used to seeing on this site.

Perception bias..replication?

I understand where you are coming from. How about we just keep things as they are? The readers can think it a rumor, or something more because we know the source, and trust him.
Crossing my fingers that it happens, but there is a rumor that one of Muto's (Saito's real name) grad students at Haikkado will be writing up a report on the results. As with everything LENR though...we shall believe it when we see it.
MR2 mesh installation and bake-out completed last night, with good final vacuum of 3E-6 Torr. Addition of Deuterium is under way and the experiment live stream will start in an hour (17:00 UTC).
The data stream and chat for the MR2.1 experiment is now live at
This is better than Christmas Eve, thanks for sharing this openly.
What you do here is so amazing and also my vision of lenr forum ever since the start in 2010.
Open source research, sharing online, getting more people to try until we have an eco system with successful replications.
I wish you good luck! magicsound , you're awesome.

Saito's real name is Saito. There is no question about it. He is listed in the university directory and blurb about the company. I do not know who Muto is. They are both common names.
I propose that the declining D2 pressure is an indication of Pd loading and adsorption on the Ni mesh. No way to prove it, but if there was a leak in the cell, the pressure would be going up.
As a further check, I bled the vacuum system back to atmosphere. If the main cell valve was leaking D2, an immediate change in the cell pressure slope would show it. There was no change and thus no leak.

Very likely, yes. Unless the gas is being absorbed by the walls or some other component. But you would have seen that during calibration.
Gas pressure has started declining for the 40W setpoint at a slower rate than during the previous step.
Yes, thanks. Did the pressure data jitter increase over the previous slope section?
Pressure readings do not seem to be very stable in general. This is something I also noticed during previous runs, but I haven't analyzed the data in detail on this regard.
I am just waiting for some 1% 1M resistors to show up, needed for pull down of the ADC channels so they don’t report weird values when the sensor wires are disconnected. Otherwise the programming seems done (enough) and the new data logging system works quite well.
