MIZUNO REPLICATION AND MATERIALS ONLY

Hmmm . . . Maybe. But they said, "Inspired by recent NASA experiment . . ." Fralick was in 1989, I think, or maybe 2011. Not recent.

Fralick published new results late in 2020, in the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy. It wasn’t clear in that publication when the data was obtained, but it seemed recent and included transmutation analysis.

That was it! Zhang told me that was the article he referred to.

I was sure it had to be it, is good to know they are doing a replication of it, I don’t know how much an hydrogen purifier as that cost but I doubt it’s cheap. I thinks this is a very robust result.

  • as that cost but I doubt it’s cheap.

50 gram of palladium plus some silver.

material cost $4000-5000... double that for manuf cost.. perhaps it was cheaper in1989..

    "

In normal operation of a JM purifier, three sets of coiled tubes
    with each Pd25Ag coil weighing ~17 g (~51 g total) are enclosed
within a stainless steel (SS) container.

Fralick .. over 30 yrs at NASA.....wow... better late than never

    "

1989..Temperature increase noted while gas was loaded into palladium cell, for both D & H
    • Neutron detector counts did not differ significantly (<2σ) from background in any run
    • Temperature increase noted when D unloaded at end of experiment
    • Compared to hydrogen gas as the experimental control: 15°C increase
in purifier temperature consistently seen with D2 that was not seen with the H2 control

when gasses were unloaded from the purifier

  • Zhang told me about the improvements to his calorimeter, with the Seebeck elements in series and parallel:

    Quote
"Another problem about series parallel circuit of Seebeck element. This is because the quality of Seebeck components I purchased is not stable. Seebeck components cost $1.30 a piece, which is very cheap. Noise has been bothering me for a year. Just came up with this method to solve the noise problem."

Here is his slide showing the new configuration (from http://ikkem.com/iccf23/MP4/2a-OR03.mp4):

  • paradoxically, I remain convinced that he had, at least, once, excesses up to KW, but not reproducible like so many others .. Not reproducible because beyond this random event, no theory built to tell this story, but instead a head that swelled like so many others.

On the other hand, recent NASA explanations are rather convincing.

Last communication we had with them was when Barty helped Daniel do something with their MTI website about 2 months ago. Very disappointing.

Absolutely no heads were swelling in this event. You have no idea what you are talking about if you think ego was involved. Mizuno reported the facts and data only, as did I. When I reported this and wrote the recipe, I said repeatedly that we do not know whether it can be replicated, and I reported that the next set of experiments he performed failed to produce such high levels of heat.

  • it doesn't matter it's a former story already, we must move forward.

It is still underway. There have been two successful replications of Mizuno's work, in India and China. They have not achieved high heat, but they are improving replicability, which is more important than high heat.

  • If my wife died I wouldn't do much for a while

Frankly there are lots of people from the field who have lots of very serious issues to deal with as well and don't advertise them at all.

To speak at least 2 examples that I know around LF (bipolar child with suicidal tendency or child operated on open heart repeatedly ..)

Now, just a friendly little suggestion to the R20 replicators, that they don't spend 90% of their time with only calorimetry, or having fun in their lab, but that they spend more time studying theories.
For example, take inspiration from the latest NASA allegations and the plasmons involvement expected (which are related to IRs of course)

Two years on from the beginning of the this thread is a good time to survey what has been done. Not just positive replications, but also ones that did not show effects.

Can anyone come up with a list?

  • Here is a list of possible replications attempts that I compiled several months ago by going back over this thread. Page numbers refer to this thread. I have also included what I know about outcomes although I believe that my information is sketchy at best.

    Alan Smith

    Nickec (Nicholas Cafarelli) (?) [p1]

    Ubaldo Mastromatteteo [p2]

Gruppo scientifico per valutazione independente di tecnologie (not on LENR forum) negative

    Robert Horst (?) [p2]

Brian Albiston (?) [4] Also on separate thread "Albiston/FluxHeat Mizuno Analogue Experiments" no XSH

dartin [p3] Last post Aug 30 2019 neg?

Fabrice David [p7] according to post by Shane D

Cydonia [p8] bought 7 Ni meshes

Jeff [p24] ended suddenly on Feb 7 2020 after much progress

    Deneum [p27] no XSH

Arun Luthra [p27] seems to have abandoned attempt in Sept 2019 after pumps dont work

    Eros [p42] stopped Sept 21 2019

    Edit: And Magicsound!

  • Thank you Bruce__H

yes, i bought by Alan 7 Nickel meshes used by a french partner i have had to replicate the R20 way.

As for all, put the Pd onto the nickel mesh was a tricky business.

JedRothwell recommended to replicate exactly all details to increase chances of success.

Unfortunately it wasn't the case especially about the reactor size which was very smaller.. so no xsh..

From french side, Biberian , Ruer and 2 other guys tried to replicate very seriously in their case.. ( but chuuuut it's a big secret..always.. ) but no xsh anymore i heard.

Otherwise for myself, i continue to work on the classic NI/H/Li way.
