For the dilettante II. The name droplet comes from drop. Aerosols mistakably sometimes are also called tiny droplets. But aerosols usually never drop. If air is wet then these do combine and the end of such a process might by a drop!

Thus droplets are a neglectable source for COV-19 at least from the intake/infection sites view. Almost all infections happen by aerosols that are smaller/stay longer in the air the more dry the air is.

I estimate there will be 250,000 infections today. Hospitals all over the country are overwhelmed. This has not been reported in the news as much as I expected, but it is clear from various statistics from state public health agencies. My wife thinks this news is not being emphasized because people are becoming inured to hundreds of thousands of infections and deaths approaching ~3,000 per day, and they don't want to hear about it. They don't want to think about what will happen if they call an ambulance. I know what will happen, soon. You will be left in the hallway or a tent in the parking lot to die. The case mortality rate has fallen from 6% down to 2% but it is bound to rise when there are not enough nurses and doctors. As I said months ago, living in the 21st century will not mean you get 21st century hospital care when the hospitals are full. You will be no better off than people stuck in tents in 1918. I mean that: recent data shows that the mortality rate in over-stressed hospitals is roughly the same as the 1918 pandemic in the U.S. The daily infection rate per capita now exceeds most of the 1918 days. It turns out that not wearing masks and acting like idiots makes us as vulnerable to infection as our grandparents were. Human physiology has not changed. Who knew?!? To put it another way, if the present exponential growth continues another week or two, many people in poor, underserved neighborhoods may soon be worse off than people were in 1918.

I expect the present growth will continue in Georgia, because in response to this crisis our Gov. Nitwit has said nothing and done nothing. Trump is coming to Georgia for an in-person "Trump rally" tomorrow to make things worse. Experts expect this will be another superspreader event. The organizers and the invitation say nothing about masks or social distancing required. It does include a disclaimer in case you get sick or die.

Most people at other recent GOP rallies have not worn masks. Our new congresswoman continues to attack the use of masks. Some people here have questioned whether the GOP politicized public health safety measures. I agree with Sen. Trump said this week that reports of an emergency hospital opened in a parking garage is "fake news." It isn't happening. He is the president. He can say a few words to his staff and have a first-hand live video report of the facility from any GOP elected official or public health official in the state within an hour. So he, of all people, has no business disputing this.

The hospital beds in the garage are for patients with mild symptoms. It is an overflow facility. There are some photos in the video. It looks like the Chinese overflow facilities last spring.
