Tesla Battery Day - 22 sep 2020

  • Dude,

    Vapor ware supplying the ISS?

Vapor ware launching 1000’s of satellites?

Vapor ware digging transportation tunnels in Vegas?

    Vapor ware making 150,000 cars/month?

    Vapor ware is “Rossi anything”.

    You should consider rethinking this.

  • Dude,

You miss the point: We talk about batteries and how clever businessmen blow up their stake. May be you missed the big IT stock market bubble between 1995 and 2000.

Do you understand how the market value of a share is calculated ?? It's not 5x hope square! The most optimistic allowed is 10 years discounted revenue cashed in today! But for a tech company the growth/revenue factor is highly volatile and you may easily end up with a 100x loss as most did in 2000 for the so called new economy companies.

Building E-cars will, within a few years, be the same boring business as building fuel cars. And even worse the total car centered market will shrinking by a factor 2-3 due to the fact that e-cars need almost no repair/maintenance. Gasoline stations will disappear together with world wide millions of shops...

  • what Wyttenbach said is totally true, we can already see on YouTube so much Tesla owners recounting their exploits in using their car beyond 500,000 kms .. The electric car market will compress the total need for cars because they last longer . The second factor will be car sharing, which will look more like cubes on wheels.

In a few decades, in developed countries, this should divide by 10, the number of cars ...

This is only if we don't decide for or find another form of energy extraction, similar in complexity to ICE engines but cleanely more compact, that still requires occasional TLC from human hands. Technicians retool and the the mechanic shop market changes towards a more LENR-like phenomina. That's the only option for civillians that is "better than pure battery/solar power". Locally repairable, high energy, zero emissions machines using common element compounds as fuel can bless us. Hybrid electric approaches would have the same desired performance as electric cars with range better than fosil fuels ?!. Just saying the mechanical tradesmen shouldn't fret just yet, they seem like an adaptive bunch!

The benifit of batteries and solid state systems, is low maintanance and durability though.

    Then remove “Vapor ware”,

    Because these accomplishments are NOT

    Vapor ware are they?

    They are all real.

Now, if Musk has figured out a way to manipulate the stock price of his own company to his benefit and it’s legal,

    what’s the problem?

  • I am waiting another year for my German quality Build Tesla 😎

Anyhow, Tesla do have battery patents in their some 450+ Patents, and is still expanding their IP rights, like the tabless free and new battery form factor.

Munroe & Associates was rather impressed after Battery day, but most analysts are not engineers and missed the point 😉

  • Lithium mining is about to re-start here in Cornwall which should boost the local economy and re-live our mining heritage - there may be rare earth metals too. Deep mines can then be used for geo-thermal plants, which would be a win win for direct house heating and if hot enough, for steam to drive turbines for electricity. Which could then be used for re-charging TESLAS, I guess, if anyone here could afford one!:)

    And for heating pasties?

Ancestors from Cornwall told us that’s where pasties came from,

Made so miners could have a warm filling meal?

  • The cornish pasty is a meat filled pastry turnover with a thick double crust on one side.

You eat the meat bit, but throw away the thick crusty bit which is there only as a handle with which to hold it.

Reason: there were no hand washing facilities at the mines. Cornish granite has a very high proportion of Arsenic.

We settled in the Michigan UP and most worked in the copper mines there,

pasties, (beef, potato, carrot, rutabaga, celery, etc), were daily fare.
