What about mercury vapour plasma lamps? I think Rossi is hot on this trail with his 'ballerina' SKL demo, possibly forming amalgams with the Hg and other dissolved metals (Pd, Ag, Sn) prior to firing up the e-cat with deuterium gas. We will have to wait and see what the trickster comes up with next, 'warm regards' etc, etc!
Strong evidence for a new kind of radiation.

I think it is far more likely that Parkhomov has now sufficient evidence, with inert lamps for standards, to solve what his measurement problem is.
AFAIK He does inert runs as calibration,
If one reads his papers it’s in the methodology, just does not report those in the presentation because it’s obvious, He just reports the beef of what’s interesting.
-
Here is the gist of the first lamp test. About 30 hours continuous, readings every two seconds, without opening the calorimeter.
(I did make that spike by accidentally cutting the fan power instead of the heater power for a moment.)
.
Edit: Actual long period averages from the steps..
“100 W” tungsten filament lamp, (98.2 W measured) ——————————- delta T 7.164 C
200 W heater (198.5 W measured) ——————————————————- delta T 14.418 C
200 W heater plus “100 W “ tungsten filament lamp (295.5 W measured) — delta T 22.174 C
Outlet diameter 0.065 mm, 3.18 m/s air velocity (normal, 3.0 @ STP)

For the sake of accuracy, there was no SKL demo and none is planned at this point.
In fact there is no evidence at all that the SKL exists.
There was an SK demo almost 2 years ago, at the time of it's "industrialization" to happy customers, taking orders, ads on E-Cat world, etc. but no customers have surfaced, nor employees.
Were you thinking of the SK? Then I'm not sure what trail Rossi is hot on with the SK. The Pacific Coast Trail? Or perhaps the Earth-Mars Interplanetary Trail?

Which particular paper (he has written many) do you have the title?
Is there an english translation?
i've lost his email address.

Bo is a smart, well-spoken guy, but would rather stick his head in the sand than admit giant measurement errors, which makes him a liability in public funded science, IMO.

Bo Hoistad became interested in LENR since the affair between Uppsala and il dottore. He was one of the authors of the so called Lugano report. I assumed this was general knowledge by now, I often forget that not everyone follows the topic so closely as some of us LENR-geeks do.

Thanks Curbina Pete
The description of the methodology for measuring excess heat in this paper probably won’t satisfy anyone that thinks that excess heat is impossible, but I find it straight forward and the reported excess is well beyond any reasonable doubt, specially if one considers it along with the changes in composition of the material (Transmutation) after the experiment finished. Parkhomov's approach has been to not loose much time trying to build better calorimetry to satisfy the skeptics, just one good enough for ease of work and reasonable accuracy for comparative purposes, but incorporating the search for transmutation as an additional check box. Skeptics probably will never accept that as a valid approach, tho. I think Parkhomov has decided is not worth the effort to try to convince anyone. He just wants to get things done.

You are entitled to your opinion. I think Bo has moved light years away since that affair, but this is not the thread for that.

You've never met him have you? Very smart, specialist in forensic chemistry, on which topic he is the inventor of many analytical techniques, he is also top science adviser for the Swedish Police. He's about as safe a pair of hands as you could find.

Then his avoidance of the emissivity error is even more egregious.
He is not confused by it. Of that I am certain. He simply wants it swept under the rug, it seems.
That is both a poor example and unscientific behaviour, IMO.
Science isn’t about worrying about the wrong turns taken.Science is about marking the right and the wrong turns on the map, so the correct way can be discerned by the next traveller.

Why is strange radiation important? Because hot fusion produces hot radiation and cold fusion produces cold radiation. Cold radiation is a better term but you may call it strange radiation or one of the other terms. The key point of cold radiation is that it is cold because it has mass.
Bob Greenyer posted a video where he analyzes a paper from Russian authors that performed an experiment to confirm and detect the so called “strange radiation”.
The paper (translated from Russian by Bob himself) is here:
In the above paper we find the rest mass of individual quanta is in the range of 2.9 to 3.9 ev. These quanta can be brought to rest in water and condense in a magnetic field in water and can be launched from water by interaction with light. These quanta condense to form microdroplets and these droplets can assemble other forms. That's what the images are about. Just as water can capture these quanta, the microdroplet can also be captured by some kind of electromagnetic resonance capture to a film emulsion. In the process of capture and resonance the quanta's mass converts to energy which light create the images on the film. Microdroplet are creating energies between 1 MeV and 300 MeV to create the images. There is transmutation in film emulsion.
It seems that all cold fusion involves an electrical arc (used in the broadest possible sense). Cold fusion happens in the arc and produces cold radiation. I have done the mass balance and stoichiometry for an arc in deuterium contaminated with atmospheric gas. Cold fusion is very fast and very productive. A two minute arc with an input of 4533 BTU causes much transmutation. Based on the mass lost during transmutation and mass to energy conversion, the predicted (hot fusion) yield would be about 95.6 million BTU. If you convert that to a bomb, its about a tenth the size of the one dropped on Hiroshima. The actual heat yield above heat input is 2871 BTU. So unless you don't believe in matter and energy conservation, the difference between the hot fusion expectation and the cold fusion actual yield become cold radiation, a form of mass that can be converted to energy.
Do you see why cold radiation is important?
-
So do you think this is how Randal Mills achieves fusion with his electrical arcs? Reminiscent of neutron formation during thunderstorms?
-
BLP makes energy from water, not hydrogen. If they didn't have some expectation that the oxygen plays a role why are they now looking to control it? Thunderstorms arc are so energetic that they make neutrons like Santilli has made neutrons from electric arcs. If the arc is not quite so hot one gets fusion but with fewer neutrons released. There is an escape velocity thing going on because the fusion is actually due to a sort of gravity that increases as the quantum number of the energy level increases. Of course the fusion also increase as the number of quantum energy levels with a high quantum number increases.
