About how laser fusion was born of the cold

:lenr:

Thank you Sergei- a very interesting paper- herewith a translation of part of it...

“Analysis of the first successful experiments on the creation and study of thermonuclear plasma by irradiating a LiD target with laser pulses shows that the most probable mechanism of neutron generation was associated not with the direct implementation of thermonuclear fusion, but with the formation of coherent correlated states in the target volume due to the action of a shock wave or when the formed ions move in the undisturbed part of the target lattice.
The results obtained substantiate the possibility of alternative reactions in laser modeling of thermonuclear fusion and show the advisability of a more detailed study and repetition of this and similar experiments in order to search for other possible nuclear fusion products using the same method [1, 2] using the action of unidirectional single or repeated laser pulses. It is very important that such studies can be carried out in small laboratories and they do not require very complex, unique and expensive equipment, which currently exists only in some world centers dealing with the solution of global problems of inertial thermonuclear fusion with mandatory all-round target compression due to synchronized time of exposure to laser pulses, generated by many dozens of super-powerful lasers. Successful experiments on the implementation of nuclear fusion [22, 23], carried out using heat waves generated in a simple cavitation plant based on a water jet, confirm the effectiveness of such studies.

Another conclusion from the above analysis relates to the need for a certain reassessment of the role and efficiency of nuclear reactions at low energies for solving modern problems of nuclear technology. Obviously, in order to successfully solve such problems, it is also necessary to take into account not only the specific interaction between a pair of particles under consideration, as is the case in high-energy nuclear physics, but also to fully analyze the influence of the environment on the efficiency of these processes. To a certain extent, this situation is similar to the well-known Mössbauer effect, in which the generation of record-breaking resonance lines of gamma radiation is associated with both intranuclear processes and the properties of the environment. This is exactly what I did show already more than 3 years ago in the LENR paper (on RG) about the Lipinski experiment. Good to see that others find the confirmation in a different experiment.

  • There is a translation of the 2020 Kornilova Vysotsky reanalysis of the 1969 LiD(laser) results here

It references 2018 LiD theory work by Vysotsky/Bartalucci..which cites the 2013 Lipinski experimental work(without laser)

and attempts to explain the results by CCS... correlated states.

These papers might be of some interest to ROSATOM which ,

according to Wikipedia, is considering investment in alternatives to fission power..

    due to increasing costs

For highly relativistic particles, the size of the coherent channeling region can be rather large, which leads to the necessity of studying the effects of the interference of these states in detailand of analyzing the influence of such effects on radiation processes. As shown above, the presence of such interference leads to periodic and very effective focusing of the wave function of channeled particles and to the possibility of forming periodically arranged clusters of excited atoms and nuclei, whose decay can lead to the generation of directional quasicoherent radiation.

Because the arrangement period of these clusters exceeds the crystal lattice period by several orders, such a system can generate hard and soft radiation. It should be noted that the considered effects can also be implemented on the basis of a beam of fast (non relativistic) protons and other heavy, positively charged ions. For such particles, the process of space-time modulation can be related to collective channeling. Under optimal conditions, it is accompanied by the formation of coherent correlated states characterized by very large fluctuations of the transverse momentum and energy.

In the gamma range, this effect was considered with regard to the problem of the fabrication of a gamma-ray laser.
