If we were talking to someone from distance future, we likely would perceive their version of physics as magic. And if their physics makes common use of dark energy who of us would be in awe of that.
There is a direct connection between superconductivity and the Higgs field (aka Vacuum energy). That connection is the energy potential of both of these processes.
In a superconductor, the Higgs Mode or the Higgs amplitude mode is a quantum phenomenon seen in materials and occurs when the magnetic field of its electrons in those materials fluctuate in a way similar to that of a Higgs boson in the vacuum. The materials that exhibit this phenomenon can do so because the crystal structure of the material enables the electrons to behave in a way that is driven by the Higgs field. When the Higgs mode presents itself in these materials, the material is often undergoing a quantum phase transition. For example, when a material becomes a superconductor, the material goes through spontaneous symmetry breaking and the mass of the electron becomes zero.
What is the same between a superconductor and the Higgs field is the potential energy behavior of each system. Under spontaneous symmetry breaking, the behavior of these two system are the opposite of the other or "anti field" of the other. In the Higgs field, the mass of the electron is created but in a superconductor, the mass of the electron is destroyed.

The interaction between these two systems is where the energy of the vacuum emery LENR reaction comes from.
Bose Einstein condensation (BEC) is a superconducting process that produces the Higgs mode and this system is inherently unstable; the BEC will eventually fail. The process of this failure is called a Bosenova. This is a quantum mechanical explosion. The "collapse and bounce" scenario of this process qualitatively resembles a condensed matter version of a core-collapse supernova, hence the term bosenova.

This field energy produced by this quantum mechanical interaction will be applied to the electrons in the BEC which will expand spherically at the speed of light.

Polaritons are a superposition (Mix) of an electron and a boson which makes an electron a boson. The electron can now form a Bose condensate. Such a condensate can now condense into a superconductor. A superconductor can then produce a Higgs field within a condensed matter system which interferes with the vacuum. Such interference disables the atom's formation process. This Bose condensate is what now forms an EVO.

I did the research to answer this question: The transmutation of light elements into heavy elements like iron and rare earths cannot be accomplished through fusion. Science believes that supernovas produce such elements. In fact, the formation of iron in stellar fusion caused the initiation of a supernova.
The atomic principle is the only way that I could see that could result in the transmutation of light elements into heavy elements.
The Atomic principle is the mechanism that keep protons, pions, and neutrons from decaying and provide the nuclear binding energy that keep the nucleus of the atom from disintegrating. The mass of the up and down quarks must be in a tight range (120% of ambient) to provide the mechanisms to keep the proton, pion and neutron together. The Higgs field and it associated vacuum expectation value (VEV) is what establishes the masses of the up and down quarks. In fact, the Higgs field establishes and regulates the masses of all fermions: all the quarks, electrons, and neutrinos.

What makes the vacuum reaction possible is the ability of condensed matter science to create microbubbles of the Higgs field using electron based condensates.
How does "condensed matter science" create anything? Science attempts to explain and predict things with mathematics. It does not create things. Real scientists don't explain things this way, and they use math.
