Dr. Deborah Birx, who worked with Dr. Anthony Fauci and served as the White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator during the Trump Administration, now claims the Covid-19 virus was being worked on by scientists in the Wuhan lab. In an article in The Guardian, Birx believes the virus leaked from the Chinese lab where scientists were working on vaccines for similar viruses.
Birx backed up her claim by saying most viruses take months or years to become highly infectious to humans, yet this SARS-CoV-2 virus was already more infectious than the flu when it emerged. Birx believes the release of the virus may have been a mistake. “It happens, labs aren’t perfect, people aren’t perfect, we make mistakes and there can be contamination,” she said.
Birx also suspects China covered up the release of the disease. She also suspects the incredible transmissibility of the pathogen links to the laboratory genesis. “In laboratories, you grow the virus in human cells, allowing it to adapt more. Each time it passes through human cells, it becomes more adapted,” she said. Birx went on to say lives could have been saved if China had simply admitted the virus started in a lab.

Of course, this anger is not only seen in doctors but in some policy makers who - to this very day - want to punish those who did not conform.
No, they wish to punish people who knowingly and recklessly spread disease and kill people. This is like punishing people who run restaurants that repeatedly cause food poisoning, or factories the dump poisonous chemicals into the water supply. The punishment is not to force people to "conform" but to force them to obey the law. There have been laws compelling people to be vaccinated since 1775. They are no different from laws compelling people to stop at red lights, and not fire pistols and rifles in populated areas.
In 1905 the Supreme Court upheld laws compelling smallpox vaccinations. They should enforce similar laws today. People who refuse to be vaccinated for COVID and other deadly disease should not be allowed into stores, airports or anywhere else they might infect people. They should be treated like typhoid Mary. In modern society we have gone overboard giving people nonexistent "rights" to cause harm and kill other people. It is said that your right to swing your fist ends at my nose, but nowadays people are allowed to clobber hundreds of others, ruining their lives with COVID. The pendulum has swung much too far away from an orderly, law-abiding society in the direction of anything goes, crime does not matter, kill and main anyone you like and you will not be held accountable.

While COVID may have come from accidental release of what was borderline gain-of-function research at Wuhan, combining with wild virusses, and certainly if that had happened there would be very strong pressure in Chjina for nothing to be admitted, what was released was not highly transmissible. We saw over 2 yaers of evolutionary selection an billions of hosts (not a lab) it slowly become more transmissable, each step and improvement:
original -> alpha -> delta -> omicron
Now, with omicron, I don't think it is getting more transmissable, just like Flu we are saying variants people have less recent (or no) immunity to.

So what could possibly be the reason that policy makers are even now about to kick people out of the national guard and navy, etc, for not being vaccinated? Is it Jed level uninformed fear, and/or is it spite, and/or is it something in the vaccine that is undisclosed and is intended to fulfil some other purpose?
Understanding the irrational isn't easy.
There have been laws compelling people to be vaccinated since 1775. They are no different from laws compelling people to stop at red lights, and not fire pistols and rifles in populated areas.
Not stopping at red lights, or firing guns into a crowd are clear and present dangers. Being a healthy, unvaccinated human being interacting in society is not a clear and present danger, no matter how you want to spin it. Legislating a medical procedure that isn't wanted or needed is just wrong, plain and simple.

I agree - I find it difficult to understand how anyone could have the irrational level of paranoia implied by your last hypothesis.
The trilemma is however invalid because you have left out the more obvious answers.
- For services that want workers who stay healthy, vaccines that reduce the severity of COVID are important even if they do not prevent infection.
- It is also true that vaccines prevent infection (a decent amount for a few months). Given maybe yearly boosters that is not great, but still better than nothing.
- And regulations tend to be sticky - it takes time and very definite evidence to quantify how much less effective vaccines are against a new variant and therefore change them.
I agree like many regulations this looks a bit out-of-date - but only till October when the US is due to have a vaccine with greater effectiveness against omicron.
It seems weird to me that more than two years after the start of COVID we are still using vaccines targeted at original COVID.
But - hey - don't believe me. Maybe the vaccines are designed to put stealth socialist brain cells into us all that will erupt at the next election and steal it?

Most "science papers" do not say that. Some which did say that sort of thing were retracted within weeks. (See below.) But here is the thing about science papers and scientists. You can always find a scientist who believes X and another who believes NOT X. You will find someone who believes any proposition you come up, not matter how much evidence is against it, and how many laws of physics or biology it violates. Such people are fruitcakes with PhDs. They are usually harmless. In extremely rare circumstances, they turn out to be right. But they are not harmless in your case, because you believe the nonsense. Your problem is twofold: You want to believe the nonsense, because of your political beliefs and biases; and you do not not understand enough about this part of science or biology to recognize nonsense.
I know little about most fields of science, such as particle physics. But, unlike you, I recognize my own limitations, so I would never go out on a limb and declare that most experts are wrong, and a handful of experts who disagree with the majority are right. I just say, "I don't know enough to judge."
Conclusions Two doses of COVID-19 vaccines are unlikely to protect against infection by Omicron. A third dose provides some protection in the immediate term, but substantially less than against Delta. Our results may be confounded by behaviours that we were unable to account for in our analyses. Further research is needed to examine protection against severe outcomes.

No worries THH. The appearance of civility isn't a priority to me. After all, I'm sure many innocent people have been led to their execution in a very civil manner.
And to set your mind at rest, I haven't probed behind door number three, even though I've seen videos of very strange supposed contaminants in samples. Recall the Japanese sent back millions of doses of vaccine because they didn't like what they saw. It's the irrationality of continually pushing a vaccine that isn't doing its job that makes one wonder exactly what they are pushing, that's all.

Yes, both those transient affects can in principle exist. And they also can exist after any infection. They exist particularly after covid infection.
Looking at the studies:
- no - male sperm count does not seem to be adversely affected medium term (in fact the reverse medium term - probably due to fewer severe covid infcetions)
- yes, temporary female menstrual irregularities are found.
But female menstrual irregularities are also found after COVID:
Among the SARS-CoV-2 positive participants (n=127), 16% reported changes in their menstrual cycle (Table ). The median number of days between a positive SARS-CoV-2 test and the last reported menstrual cycle changes was 57.5 (range, 28–222). However the difference is you don't have to think thousands of doctors all over the world are complicit in a conspiracy that not one has exposed to believe the UDFO videos.
Your "third door" was about the deliberate and wholescale use of vaccines for nefarious purposes, not the fact that vaccines like all other food and medicines very occasionally contain contamination from the machines that process them. But not living organisms. Nor RFID trackers (scale all wrong given tiny needles used for injections).
Again, like all other food and medicines, when anything like that is discovered there are recalls of affected batches.
In fact the wide publicity given to vaccine batch recalls shows that possible problems are taken very seriously not in in some global conspiracy hushed up.
