Casimir Cavities and Zero-Point Energy, Garret Moddel

  • Abstract

In results from thousands of trials and dozens of variations, tests for measurement artifacts, and replications, metal/insulator/metal/Casimir cavity devices produce electric power, apparently by tapping ambient zero-point energy (ZPE). A simple calculation shows that the power potentially available from the ZPE quantum vacuum is an immense 5 gigawatts per square meter. The devices tap a tiny fraction of that, but still deliver a practical power density of 70 watts per square meter. The devices are designed to circumvent the apparent impediments to ZPE harvesting, i.e., that ZPE is the universal ground state, and that ZPE fluctuations are extremely short lived and virtual. If the source ultimately proves to be ZPE, what is the operating principle behind the energy harvesting, and how can the results be reconciled with known physical law? A notional operating principle can be understood as a direct analog to the optical phenomenon of frustrated total internal reflection. Tapping ZPE does not violate the second law of thermodynamics based on the conventional quantum interpretation of ZPE, but ambiguities regarding the source of ZPE leave the issue unresolved.

  • An Email was recently sent to Garett Moddel and he confirmed that the primary thing holding up the mass production of this device is reliability. The devices work great when they are first produced, but quickly break down and become useless. Until he gets more research money to analyze how and why the cells break down over time there will not be a wide-spread industrial roll out of this technology.

The downside of energy extraction from the vacuum that may have affected the Moddel device is vacuum decay.

A video that addresses vacuum decay provides a more detailed description of the decay process. The EVO will demonstrate the electroweak unification stage of vacuum energy evolution. This leads us to a production about the decay produced by the Moddel device. When the Moddel device begins to fall apart, as the EVO forms, the failing device should stabilize unstable isotopes.

It could rightly be inferred that the EVO contains the state of the vacuum that was in place just during a fraction of a second after the big bang occurred when the electroweak force was in place and before electromagnetism came to be.

Just as happened when the Higgs field came into being during the first second of the formation of the universe, the EVO enters a phase transition, becomes unstable and the vacuum returns into its nominal vacuum state. This unstable character of the EVO protects the universe from vacuum death.

  • Very interesting article:

« The MIM diode consists of a semitransparent palladium layer, 8.3 nm thick, and a thicker nickel layer surrounding a very thin insulator, ~2 nm in thickness. The insulator is thin enough for charge carriers to tunnel through it. »

A diode, with a palladium electrode, which produces energy… Does that remind you of anything?

  • If it were not because it doesn't mention hydrogen anywhere on the paper, one would think this is a LENR paper.

I certainly Hope to see LENR helping humans to blossom, and I'm here to help it happen.

  • Face has partnered with BRIDG, an industry-led public-private partnership for advanced technologies and manufacturing processes, in order to further develop and manufacture the Evercell power cell. In the press release, we learn that an Evercell prototype has already been tested for 16 months with undiminished performance, and producing enough electrical output to power a typical wireless sensor. Furthermore, Evercell power cells are said to be “inexpensive to produce, consume no fuel, have no moving parts, and contain no toxic materials”. If the collaboration produces the expected results, mass production should start in 2019 at BRIDG facility located in NeoCity, Florida in the US. Further information may be found in Face’s Evercell product page.

It is a LENR paper. Hydrogen is not required for the LENR reaction to operate. LENR is a vacuum based reaction; no hydrogen required. The Moddel device sufferers unavoidable failure like all LENR devices because of vacuum decay. How long will it take for that factoid to get through to you'll.

When you see a steel SAFIRE anode ball reduced to a cinder, what to you think has happened? This inability to understand realty is the cost that the fusion meme imposes on those who pursue of a workable long lasting LENR device.

  • Casimir effect is very interesting thing. I had an idea on making a thruster on casimir effect. If I'm correct, casimir effect can produce thrust on a plate with millions of nanocavities, with virtual photons resonating inside each cavity. Not a straight up generator, but can be made to generate electricity trough motion.

Yep. Standard experiment to detect casimir effect. The only difference is my idea was making 1 plate with millions of nanocavities, to make a "positive force potential", to generate any observable thrust.

What you want to do is not a Casimir effect, but a LENR effect. The nanocavities are the mechanism where the LENR reaction takes place. You are seeking to amplify pumped energy input as happens in the LENR reaction. The nanoparticles will produce photons and these photons will be coherent (polarized light). So in effect you will be constructing a laser.

You need to produce over-unity energy gain by extracting photons from the vacuum. The greater the COP is for your system, the more powerful will be the output of your device. Unlike the Casimir effect, you only need one plate in which the photons are formed.

Most current science research in this area use lasers to provide the input energy, but recently, electron pumping is being used in photon amplification. This research is following the methods that are being used in LENR systems where an electrical pulse produces over-unity power amplification.

The Brillouin Energy LENR reactor is a system that uses this method of electron mediated photon amplification.

I just saw an article that has seen this photon amplification method used in a new experiment as follows:

Coherent surface plasmon polariton amplification via free-electron pumping

    Abstract

Surface plasmonics with its unique confinement of light is expected to be a cornerstone for future compact radiation sources and integrated photonics devices. The energy transfer between light and matter is a defining aspect that underlies recent studies on optical surface-wave-mediated spontaneous emissions. However, coherent stimulated emission of free electrons, which is essential for free-electron light sources, and its dynamical amplification process remain to be disclosed in a clear, unambiguous and calibrated manner. Here we present the coherent amplification of terahertz surface plasmon polaritons via free-electron-stimulated emission: a femtosecond optical pulse creates an in-phase free-electron pulse with an initial terahertz surface wave, and their ensuing interactions intensify the terahertz surface wave coherently. The underlying dynamics of the amplification, including a twofold redshift in the radiation frequency over a one-millimetre interaction length, are resolved as electromagnetic-field-profile evolutions using an optical pump–probe method. By extending the approach to a properly phase-matched electron bunch, our theoretical analysis predicts a super-radiant surface-wave growth, which lays the ground for a stimulated surface-wave light source and may facilitate capable means for matter manipulation, especially in the terahertz band.

In simple words in this experiment, a fast rising nano-pulse of nano amounts of electrons is amplified into infrared light (AKA heat). As in the Brillouin Energy system, the key to overunity power production is getting the smallest input electrical pulse to produce the biggest heat output.

The Brillouin Energy system uses a smooth metal serface instead of using your idea (making 1 plate with millions of nanocavities) because their theory of the reaction is not correct.

In closing, your job is to design the input energy electron source to produce the proper LENR reaction generated by the pitted metal plate.

  • No idea how LENR correlates there. It's Casimir effect, not LENR.

  • No idea how LENR correlates there. It's Casimir effect, not LENR.

LENR is a vacuum reaction that occurs in the microcavities, but it must be driven by input power either electrical or through the application of heat/light.

When ED Storms found that the LENR reaction occurred in cracks, it is the walls of the crack that creates the field confinement required to produce the vacuum conditions that release amplified vacuum energy. This must be why you specified microcavities in your idea.

Don't be mislead by the false idea that LENR is a fusion reaction. It is in truth a vacuum reaction.
