E-Cat: Wissenschaftler testen "Kalte Fusion"

Der Erfinder Andrea Rossi
hat nach eigenen Angaben eine neue Energiequelle entdeckt, die kalte
Fusion nutzt. Unter Wissenschaftlern wird die Entdeckung allerdings eher
als Scherz gesehen, da eine solche Energiequelle unter bislang
bekannten physikalischen Theorien nicht funktionieren kann.

Renommierte Wissenschaftler aus Schweden und Italien haben nun eine
Version von Rossis-Kraftwerk untersucht und wurden überrascht: In einem 54-Seiten-Dokument
berichten die Forscher über die eine 32-Tage-Beobachtung des "E-Cat".
Dieser hat in dieser Zeit eine Netto-Energie von 1,5 mWh erzeugt - weit
mehr als mit jeglicher bislang bekannter chemischer Reaktion in dieser
Größe möglich ist.

Da die Forscher die Energiezelle vor und nach dem Test untersuchten
durften, haben sie festgestellt, dass im Inneren eine nukleare Reaktion
stattgefunden haben musste - was eigentlich nicht möglich sein dürfte.

Laut den Forschern ist die Energiezelle "besser als jede andere
Energiequelle, die bislang bekannt ist". Der Bericht wird in einer der
kommenden Ausgaben der Fachzeitschrift "Journal of Nuclear Physics"
erscheinen. Dann dürften es weit mehr Forscher werden, die den E-Cat
testen wollen. Ob das Geräte dann immer noch hält, was sein Erfinder
verspricht, bleibt abzuwarten.

In the past days I saw a few blog-comments from Jed Rothwell about that there are a few hundreds of peer reviewed LENR experiments with up to 100 Watts excess.
Maybe we can collect a few interesting papers, to which we can refer if patho-sceptics can't get enough?

Do you think it makes sense to collect all needed properties we now know from the report to create a powder mix for a possible replication of the Hot-Cat?
Which parts of nickle and which of lithium are needed? How can they be prepared? Are there manufacturers which can produce such a powder mix?
Wich isotopes are needed?

Maybe we can help a bit to bring replications forward!

Ich hoffe einfach das MFMP was gutes zustande bringt.

Rends: Ich gleichen Thread am Ende gibt es ziemlich viel Gelächter wegen des neuen Berichts. Leider sehr schade, dass mal wieder keiner den großen Zusammenhang sieht. Offenbar ist deren Meinung nach jeder der sich in Rossis Umfeld befindet ein Betrüger oder Betrogener der es nicht gemerkt hat.

Selbst Tom Darden wird nicht ernst genommen...

Wir können nur hoffen dass das MFMP schnellstmöglichst etwas replizieren kann. Wenn sie das schaffen und einen absolut detaillierten Bericht darüber abgeben, mit dessen Hilfe andere Wissenschaftler ebenfall eine Replikation nachbauen können...dann wäre der eigentliche Durchbruch erreicht. Ein "Levi et. al"-Bericht juckt niemanden die Bohne.

AlainCo: As noted in the paper: The scientists didn't drive the reactor at it's maximum COP! So there is a much better COP possible.

ajb: Maybe the now available information about the Li-7 is increasing positive replications.

According to Mats Lewan, the report was blocked by arXiv.org and also sent to the Journal of Physics D. But the authors got no response yet, so they decided to publish it now.

New results are presented from an extended experimental investigation of anomalous heat production in a special type of
reactor tube operating at high temperatures. The reactor, named E-Cat, is charged with a small amount of hydrogen-loaded
nickel powder plus some additives, mainly Lithium. The reaction is primarily initiated by heat from resistor coils around the
reactor tube. Measurements of the radiated power from the reactor were performed with high-resolution thermal imaging
cameras. The measurements of electrical power input were performed with a large bandwidth three-phase power analyzer.
Data were collected during 32 days of running in March 2014. The reactor operating point was set to about 1260 oC in the
first half of the run, and at about 1400 °C in the second half. The measured energy balance between input and output heat
yielded a COP factor of about 3.2 and 3.6 for the 1260 oC and 1400 oC runs, respectively. The total net energy obtained
during the 32 days run was about 1.5 MWh. This amount of energy is far more than can be obtained from any known
chemical sources in the small reactor volume.
A sample of the fuel was carefully examined with respect to its isotopic composition before the run and after the run, using
several standard methods: XPS, EDS, SIMS, ICP-MS and ICP-AES. The isotope composition in Lithium and Nickel was
found to agree with the natural composition before the run, while after the run it was found to have changed substantially.
Nuclear reactions are therefore indicated to be present in the run process, which however is hard to reconcile with the fact
that no radioactivity was detected outside the reactor during the run.

On Science has been published the discovery of the “Majorana Fermion”,
so called because it has been hypotised by Ettore Majorana ( fellow
student of Enrico Fermi , when they were called “I ragazzi di via
Panisperna”). This particle is extremely interesting because it is, at
the same time, an elementary particle AND its own antiparticle. The
discovery has been made in the Princeton University by the Group of
Nadj- Perge.

5 years to bring it to market...and this with mainstream "support". So don't wonder when Rossi takes even longer with his denied ecat.

Yes, but mainstream science will only care about it when there is undoubtable proof that it is real.
