I am dense as I have said before. Per the above post what is Abd's "situation?" I am missing something. I thought he took a break (one way or the other) but I never thought of it beyond that. Is he now banned? and if so when does it expire?

I could not help looking at the Penn and Teller video Jed posted. It really fits into the "show and tell" format that the E-cat demo and saga has provided. I spent hours more time (thanks to Jed) looking at other videos on the whole concept of magic, how the audience has to dispense belief, how the sleight of hand and misdirection works. It requires each persons belief system to go into hiatus for a second, or the magic moment is lost.

While we seem to be approaching the end game in regards to the E-cat, there will always be another demo/show to takes its place. But like it or not, there is no denying that the acting in this performance cost someone $11million. For me, the funny thing is I believe that CMNS LENR is more possible now after I spend more time studying it.

I will hope for more knowledge in 2017. I want to thank those who help providing honest knowledge, regardless of my belief system. If we find in the eventual working theory of LENR that there is no new physics involved, it could mean that we missed something basic. And we know sure as shaite that publishers of journals like Nature and Sci. Am. are not going to find it out. So dismissing the consequences of CMNS based science is just scientific ignorance based on ??? I am not sure on this point, but money and protecting jobs may be the answer. Anyway for those still believing in Rossi at this point I would recommend looking at how Magic is performed. Focusing on that even the audience needs to be involved for it to work.

Can I suggest that Mods need to hold back on the hammer. Perma-bans should be used very very sparingly. Smart-bans and with a 2 day (cool off) types of bans, can be just as effective.
    Thanks

    Eric Walker,
Could you consider changing your avatar to represent you can ban people as a moderator? While in general I read and like your posts, I would hate to think that someone that I could possibly disagree with in the future could ban me. Since my remarkable sense of humour falls flat here sometimes, it would help me catch myself. Please understand I respect the need for moderation in the LENR forum, just a suggestion.

Your post will take me some time to respond to address , as I will try to go through (the links) one by one. If it helps I am familiar with the M-M work on the mountain and its history and it's critics issues with the work. To the point I am wondering if the advances in interferometer's with eLISA and LIGO would have helped where the M-M device failed. If this is related can you address this? -Thanks

    Dear Zeus46,
    Please knock it off.

    Dear Abd,
Please consider coming back. As in quickly with a "sense of urgency". Please put this in perspective. Bitch all you want but your voice is missed here.

As a funny and non-related off topic note. At one of my old jobs, we would have internal names for projects. It was the "sales guys versus the developers". They (sales) came up with the product name "Bridge Builder" our internal name was "Ditch digger". You are more of a Bridge Builder, so even your detractors would appreciate your voice here. Besides we (here) are pretty good at ditch digging. And need some help with the other half--- the building part is alluding us.

    Zephir,
I am glad that you saw my comment. I follow you as I follow others that have interesting out of the box ideas. I have looked at your writings on Reddit (and phys.org) related to aether. I consider you a specialist in this. This means to me you know the history and verification experiments and open issues and common questions about this. Before going on with the EMdrive discussion. I would like to know your thoughts from the Michelson-Morley experiment and if the new LIGO and eLISA experiments could help prove the existence of aether. When I saw of the more recent work with gravity waves. I thought back to the history of aether. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I have other questions but thought that this would be a starting point, if you care to comment.

If the recent verification of gravity waves is not related to aether, I would like some clarity. Once I understand some more on this I would like to ask about the E-Universe and if it fits in somehow and where.
I also do not give a shaite on what mainstream science thinks on this subject. I will take my own sweet time to determine if this is valid. Much like we both seem to do with the EMdrive. So I would like to know your thoughts.

    Zephir,
I have asked you several times about this. Maybe you have not seen it. You are a aether specialist and you know history and detail. If you see this post favor it or respond to ack. I have asked several questions before on it. I think we need to have an aether thread relating to EM drive (not just a post in a side thread).

Thanks, that ties in another piece of the puzzle. I would like to know why 2 minutes of self sustain works for you. I am not trying to argue it needs to be longer,
so does 2 minutes have a meaning for you?

Heat after death is common. The demo did not show rate of change of several factors (heat/pressure/output etc.) before it was restarted.

So (since I try to understand where an idea comes from) I am guessing that you think 2 minutes can charge a cap/battery so that the device can continue to SS? Or maybe you meant low end of the ss scale (like it has to run at least 2 minutes at least or greater).

As far as Holmlid he is currently one of the most interesting experimenters. The "one to look out for". Mills does not at this time have enough evidence to "successfully" commercialize this. The PV idea to me is very very close to a non-starter. Blackbody heat would seem to be the working medium here. Not sure why he does not recognize the energy loss, and try to recover it. I know he knows what "power" is. But the extremely high levels that he is extrapolating just seem like investor misdirection or hand waving.

//Separately Ken Shoulders was a great thinker/experimenter. I have not finished exploring his ideas/tests just yet.

    Axil,
I am not sure where you place the Mills device. Do you think it works? does not work? or not sure?
The Suncell to me, may or may not work (but the demo of SS mode in the BLP video was too short as proof). So I want to know what you think here.

The other question is about the theory of hydrino's. do you think that fractional levels or how Mills has written about, exist? do not exist? or have another explanation?
    -thx

// I have looked at hydrinos related to trying to understand negative energy. My inquiry was how it possible to get around "quantum leaps" "h-bar" so the hydrino can get to this lower energy level. But I have not accepted that it can.

I find this discussion informative. I want to understand the reaction. I am currently on the fence with Ni LENR devices. In order for me to believe the results, it is best if I know how the sampling errors can occur.

I am not sure here, but think you (kshanahan among others) are saying that some of the positive transmutation results could be explained by the anode or even the catalyst is either absorbing or plating (or contaminating) the other "dode" and this is chemically altering the results.

Another point is that the SIMS (SEMS or other ash testing device) can contaminate the ash through the seals with high temps. Another way would be to misinterpret a noise as a signal. ("there are lies, damn lies and then statistics")
I think it is important to look at ways that the LENR effect can be proven one way or the other. I am sure there are a myriad of ways, but the important ones that address the issue, are the ones I target for questions.

    @Mary,

I agree with what you say in general, but NOT how you say it. It not only shows just a lack of respect, but more your approach. Which honestly seems is if do not agree -> "your an dumbass".
I know you will read this, so a "I do not give a ratzass what you think Rigel" is not going to work here with me. I have said before I am dense.

This approach just does not work here, as your opinions of things related to Rossi are well known. If your intent is to have someone listen to your ideas, and especially if you have any plan at all on having them change their opinions up your game. If you just plan on insulting people, I ask you this directly. How do you think you will educate them?

Let's say you are not a teacher and have zero plan on education of these poor idiots. Why do you waste your time? This is just a corner of the internet where people come to discuss LENR. One of the reasons that I read your posts, is not that you are skeptical of LENR. It's that you are willing to look at the data. If you say that you are unwilling to change your mind given information there is no point. I have to say I am tired tonight, I just think that you can take the high road. I have seen you do it with your history of LENR.

Looking back at my earlier posts, I said in an earlier post that the maggie does not create electrons. This is incorrect of course, the electrode does this and uses the electrode to "push" them as "it's job in life" . I hopefully and more clearly mean that its purpose is to generate microwave photons by the concentrating (focus) the B field on a axis . (just correcting this, so some reading this is not rolling their eyes). Re-reading this is explanation is not that clear either, so see the maggie links.

I looked at the 666 machine. I am not sure if this is what you are looking for. But I think the video shows a wireless electrical field that is being used to power the lamps. Sort of like when you see people with fluorescent lights near your power companies "BG&E", HVAC tower lines. But the video clearly shows how much coil goes into circuit. It also shows the use of arcs (spark gaps).

I am not a big fan of Hutchinson effect being real IMO. Once someone claims too much, I start looking more critically at how the device can do the work that is claimed. The Hutchinson effect has been disputed.

    ------------------------------------------------

I looked back at your pics. The one using wires has several plastic cavities unlike a kitchen maggie that uses only one. I also looked at the foam balls. The balls are somewhat large/heavy. So I will put these questions in order.

    1. What is the force that you are going to use to demonstrate the effect, is it microwave, or EM static charge? or something different (a,b or c)?
    2. Are the stacking plates used as a cathode? are they to pull or push?
    3. The foam balls are kinda heavy to me. If you have seen this size and weight used in your trial and error, I would like to see the video. But if you plan on using strong magnetic fields look at this levitating Frog linky-here

    @kshanahan,
Thanks for your timely reply. I will need more time to study your post properly and the referenced paper you authored, but I appreciate your attention to detail and response. Yes, I misspoke with IMS and probably meant SIMS. I say "probably" as I not familiar with the device or similar devices just yet so will have to track the possible sources of the errors down.My motivation is to understand how to create the transmutation ash results posted in the A.P. presentation without resorting to saying that "the ash sample was salted" but more along the lines of understanding it was contaminated by either handling, statistics, and any reasoning on how this could occur is helpful. I always look for alternative explanations. I hope this makes sense, as this is why I was asking. Again, thanks and I may have more questions.
