"Waiting until something has a pretty solid record for replication before I make the effort. Are we any closer to that goal?"Yes, I've replicated nanoscale hydrogen fusion with a specially processed catalyst. What's required is nickelous oxide that has been milled to obtain sub micron particle size and then applied to an Al2O3fiberFrax strip for support. This catalyst as well as the hydrogen gas must be completely free of sulfides or the catalyst will be poisoned irreversibly. Hydrogen fusion occurs when the catalyst is heated to hydrogen dissociation temperature. The catalytic action of the NiO surface breaks the hydrogen molecular bond that subsequently results in proton fusion. Replication requires rebuilding of the reactor because the sudden increase in temperature when fusion initiates tends to destroy the reactor. Probably addition of helium to the hydrogen at this point would help control the reaction. Very dangerous experiment because orders of magnitude energy increase is involved suddenly. It is interesting that dangerous tissue ionizing wavelength gammas are low but the IR's are high.
This post is to answer your question of being closer to the goal of hydrogen fusion. My advice is do not try this!

The statements above illustrate the boundary between conjecture and hypothesis for this simple form of hydrogen dissociation. What a pile of conjectures when it's simply adsorbtion of molecular hydrogen onto a catalyst that allows the breaking of the molecular bond with consequent absorption. Simply the result of a nanoscale reaction. Conjecture driven to the point of ad nauseam. No stimulator needed if the catalytic spacing is correct, the cows come home early. I've done the experiment, my reactor fuses hydrogen with no extra stimulation. The structure had no field involved and initiated when hydrogen dissociated.

It's been a long time, but if I remember crystallography correctly the attached view is of the face centered cubic lattice. Onset of the phase change at 300K does indicate that the hydrogen molecule is being dissociated at this low temperature. Again I visualize catalytic dissociation of hydrogen first and loading next. Just a technicality but the hydrogen molecule must be torn apart before it can begin to load into the lattice. Maybe I miss understood your statement and we're arguing the same side. "Nanoparticles can not be created until the hydrogen is dissociated"; it's particularly interesting that it initiates at this low temperature. What interaction and change does the hydrogen molecule undergo when interacting with the palladium?

&"What does hydrogen loading have to do with breaking hydrogen apart? IMHO, everything."
H2 will not load it must be dissociated (broken apart) first. Also no field necessary only thermal energy for my reactor.
&"What hydrogen loading does is creates nanoparticles that then produce hot electrons that then dissociate hydrogen."
I think you got the cart in front of the horse on this one? Dissociated hydrogen is required first for permeation or loading. The molecule will not permeate until dissociated.

Longview, when I review the benefits that this particular reactor producing thermal energy would have related to world economy it seems a likely candidate for Nobel prize consideration. This would get the stimulus needed as well as funding for continued research.

&"And Axil wrote:"Please cite a LENR reaction in an experiment that does not require an EMF simulator to appear."
My hydrogen fusion reactor required no EMF stimulation. Only thermal energy to dissociate hydrogen to initiate the fusion reaction. You have the protocol as I've posted on this forum.
I assume that Axil meant EMF stimulator, not EMF simulator, otherwise disregard my comment. I don't know what an EMF simulator would be.
The simplicity of this reactor makes it easy to reach a hypothesis. No loading until the cows come home. The fusion initiates when the hydrogen dissociates and is a surface catalytic activity. -
This Forum should be devoted to work done to further nanoscale fusion. What does the bickering crap posted here accomplish? One contributor in particular certainly does well in continuously diverting to some hidden agenda. An expert saboteur but for what purpose? Maybe the pathological love/hate confusion leads to masked disparaging remarks.

LENR theory has broadened way beyond the scope where my first experiment was set. This was simply nanoscale fusion resulting from a NiO array heated for dissociation of hydrogen molecules. The increase in helium with increase gammas was proof. Even then this was beyond so called science. Pursuit would extend into unknown regions and is best ended. Why pursue something that we couldn't possibly understand and would never be allowed to utilize.

Tyy please define reality and then we can proceed. Also the part about "spitting out" implies having a mouth full and this is somewhat revolting considering your connotation. Better watch it you're drifting away from being a dyed in the wool pathoskeptic. A chink in the armor? Now it's only a matter of time before you're just an ordinary skeptic.

&"Its not entanglement per say, entanglement is monogamous. LENR uses worm holes or ERP bridges. This is just a property of back holes. This idea has been revived anew to answer the firewall issue."
Thanks, Axil this definitely ends my quest. Everything mentioned that's meant to enlightened seems Greek to me. I've been away too long and left in the dust.
My nickelous oxide reactor seemed so simple. It fused hydrogen, produced excessive heat, and I measured helium as a product. -
This reminds me of an experiment when an emission spectrograph was available for me to explode a super fine gold wire by shorting a capacitor and analyzing the emitted light. Many elements beside gold were in the spectrum that I blamed on contamination. Transmutation wasn't talked about much then. Peak broadening was extreme analogous to the whistle pitch change when a train is moving toward and away from a station.

&"Called up your post "Observation of self-amplifying Hawking radiation in an analog black hole laser" and have now definitely ended my quest. Thanks."
Axil, you couldn't leave well enough alone for me.
Before I retired someone gave me a single crystal of graphite that allowed measuring electron spin vectors. I found that flipping the vector whether up or down caused the other entangled electron to flip rather quickly in the opposite direction. Many years ago, and probably a dream. My quest is over.
Although if I started again I would look at the possibility of using ice as quantum entangled for universal communication. We've been around for a long time and surely other intelligence would be trying to communicate. Ice landing on this favorable planet probably supplied the genetic code for initiating life. -
Axil you are not making it easy for me here to end my quest. With my limited understanding of the unconscious mind I realize that Stephen can travel to regions that are far out and then bring the material up to the conscious level. Beyond my scope. Anyway I'll followup on your post that may help end my quest.
Called up your post "Observation of self-amplifying Hawking radiation in an analog black hole laser" and have now definitely ended my quest. Thanks.

&"Simple proton transmutation on a benchtop."
Not end of quest, this doesn't consider muons and other strange particles that might be involved. Now the results of the double slit experiment come to mind. OK, wavicles and now a good place to end the quest.
-
&"The quest, for me, is to find viable mechanisms to explain how successful fusion on the benchtop works or might work."
So, with a little work the RGA quadrupole had sufficient resolution at low amu to study transmutation at 2 to 4. The nickelous oxide reactor fused hydrogen with increase gamma radiation. End of quest, it's just natures way of doing it simple. Simple proton transmutation on a benchtop.

&"The quest, for me, is to find viable mechanisms to explain how successful fusion on the benchtop works or might work."
On my laboratory bench I assembled a quartz tube loaded with Al203fiberFrax strips soaked with nickelous oxide slurry. Included was a silver purifier to remove sulfur compounds from the hydrogen gas. The heater wire wound around the reactor tube was inconel and slowly heated to remove organics from the catalyst and reach fusion temperature at 830C. An RGA was included to analyze for transmutation products. Also flow proportional, GMC and silicon drifted lithium detectors for radiation. The quest was successful and a bane ever since. The inhabitants of this planet survive by burning carbon and are not ready for hydrogen fusion.
&"Problem like at a prison fence, is to guess who is prisoner, and who is free."
No problem, just walk away from the fence and realize that there is no escape no matter what side you are on.

I feel uneasy posting experimental details on a pathoskeptic thread. How did we manage? Yes, I'm irresponsible.
Anyway sulfide catalyst poisoning is the killer. I don't mean H2S for Tyy.
Anyway, it's worth the effort to set up the experiment and witness stellar fusion on a table top. Conventional fire extinguishers aren't effective for the reactor but will work on wood fires and a few should be within reach. -
You're right it would be best to use up to date material. Unifrax oel is available as a high melting point substrate and would be fine for this replication. My idea was to supply strips of the material that have been tested as reactor catalysts to anyone requesting material for a replication. This would establish control on an important variable for replication attempts. Unfortunate health problems and old age severely restrict my participation now. Protocol contribution is all that's left for me.

Tyy, you are right on all three, all wrong. Realizing the pathology it's futile to argue. Although I notice the Freudian slip of using if LENR is real instead of a more positive statement.
For other reader's benefit, LENR in this basic mode of low amu hydrogen fusion is very real. Reactors world wide using nickel catalysts are producing useful heat. Some are low amu transmutation reactors.
