This experiment is a very good example of physics with an incomplete understanding. EM energy goes into sync with all other EM energy - teh slit wall. It can be adsorbed and re-emitted . In this case - two slits - the horizontal adsorption is on one side limited and a standing wave can cause extinction of the signal. Did they ever test to use 2 slits and block the second far after the slit? Would be interesting to know.
The other thing we know is that EM interaction in the phase space runs instantaneously. Still a lot to discover!
It is simpler to see gravity as a type of magnetism. A matter-antimatter pair in orbit of an electron is held in orbit by relativity which in this case is magnetism.

Stationary charge produces no Coulomb barrier only potential repulsion. But in neutral H-H the magnetic force can take over as soon as spin align parallel. H*-H* is the first step to fusion. Easy to produce.
In a plasma you need a strong gradient e.g. a layer barrier with a local B field that virtually goes to "infinite" = the local static field of e/p.
Unluckily Mills never understood this. The Russians needed two minutes for grasping.
