Here's one of my favourite scientists and commentators who well knows the institutional failure of the three letter agencies around Covid. In the video below he is concerned about the anger of some doctors towards those who aren't vaccinated or aren't into masking. Of course, this anger is not only seen in doctors but in some policy makers who - to this very day - want to punish those who did not conform. It's a low level of mentality in places of high influence, which should be of concern to our society at large.

It's Heinz! We're talking secret ingredients.

Me, I don't have it in me to post there again, not after the SKLed light show which - despite cheating - still managed to demonstrate no excessive brightness for an LED, let alone an advertised ten fold increase. Also the light had a dingy yellow halo which was about as attractive as a bath tub ring.

How Andrea could have been excited about that SKLed (and surely by extension the SKLep) is a mystery and a wonderment. I promptly cancelled my order.

    Conclusions

Among hospitalized COVID-19 patients, increased eBV is significantly associated with higher mortality. This suggests that eBV can prognosticate patient outcomes in earlier stages of COVID-19, and that future therapeutics aimed at reducing WBV should be evaluated

It should be true that among the population in general, increased blood viscosity is associated with higher mortality. Is the study saying it is even moreso in Covid patients? It isn't clear.

Showing the utter stupidity of requiring a vaccination certificate, perhaps the organizers could also provide a large calorimetry vessel for anyone testing positive, so that the potentially infected could enter the vessel and perhaps have any excess heat detected. Good lord, how pathetic.

I for one am very impressed with the visible and sustained brightness of BLP's recent method and use of tin. Much better than before. I hope it also corresponds to a much better COP.

The brightness of the (13.5 nm?) EUV emitted from tin and used for the future silicon chip etching would be invisible to the naked eye of course.

Very glad to see that a fairly new and conservative mainstream news channel in the UK - GBNews - has very recently carried a show about the vaccine injured in the UK and the abysmal way they are treated.

And also, there is no such thing as mild myocarditis. It is the scaring of the heart tissue and can lead to tissue tear later in life!

And this doesn't even capture the unseen damage that is done, not to the heart muscle per se but to the nerve cells that are critical to proper heart functioning. The heart even has its own little nervous system, a little brain of sorts.

The Nature report was prompted in part by Sweden’s harrowing death toll.

Where were the deaths? Almost half were In nursing homes. It is well known that Sweden has much larger senior care facilities than other Scandinavian countries, and, like Canada, senior care was abysmal in circumstances where residents and staff were sick with Covid. Sick seniors were hardly even given oxygen. This has very little to do with schools and businesses remaining open, or masking. Other factors were at play, even the timing of people returning to Sweden's from vacation in early 2020. They were hit hard, early.

But there is Jed, still trying the justify the extreme, prolonged, widespread, radical methods used to combat a ... viral infection. It has put our societies on the brink of potential catastrophe.

Israeli study of almost 200,000 Covid positive cases and 600,000 non positive control cases, all before vaccines were introduced, concluded that Covid infection was not associated with increased myocarditis and pericarditis.

The Incidence of Myocarditis and Pericarditis in Post COVID-19 Unvaccinated Patients—A Large Population-Based Study
Myocarditis and pericarditis are potential post-acute cardiac sequelae of COVID-19 infection, arising from adaptive immune responses. We aimed to study the…

Post COVID-19 infection was not associated with either myocarditis (aHR 1.08; 95% CI 0.45 to 2.56) or pericarditis (aHR 0.53; 95% CI 0.25 to 1.13). We did not observe an increased incidence of neither pericarditis nor myocarditis in adult patients recovering from COVID-19 infection.

In other words, the Covid vaccines deserve a special place for causing heart damage. Even the Novavax vaccine may be associated with heart inflammation.

Here is an article by the same author describing the homicidal public health response in Sweden, which killed and disabled thousands of people, and continued long after anyone could see it was a disaster:

Sweden’s Deadly COVID Failure | The Tyee The verdict is in on the nation’s light touch approach. More died. Herd immunity proved a mirage. thetyee.ca

Why anyone would point to Sweden as an example of how to respond to COVID is beyond me.

Why not go to https://ourworldindata.org/excess-mortality-covid and compare countries like Sweden to other countries when it comes to excess mortality. Sweden is faring quite well.

What is really rich in the article Jed links to at https://thetyee.ca/Analysis/20…den-Deadly-COVID-Failure/

is the author saying that Sweden took a "radical course" in not following the strict lockdowns, school closings, mandates and masking that other countries took!

Incredible. Sweden does the conservative thing, the kind of thing recommended by the WHO for decades, and it is called "radical". Meanwhile, what China and then Italy did (to its shame) is regarded as the new normal way of doing things. The kind of people behind this new authoritarian, technocratic ideology have no qualms about weakening and disrupting western societies. Why? So they can 'build back better' of course! Sure, it may mean that inflation is at 10 percent and interest rates are steadily rising, and the world's poor are facing starvation in increasing numbers, and family farmland is being legislated out of operation, but just bear with it for a while and it will be worth it! The corporations and stakeholders have your back, and soon the pain will pass, you'll own nothing and be happy.

About sequestering carbon : A college campus between our house and Lake Ontario has a new building under construction. It may get to be 8 stories tall. But the interesting thing is that it appears they are not using steel beams and concrete floors, but lots and lots of prefabricated laminated wood instead.

Here's two pics I took early this evening on a run on the way to the lake :

    My blue sky today...

There is not a cloud in the sky, only the stuff the planes leave behind, Is that normal I ask?!

West - Up - East in the morning

Not normal around here, where skies can be very blue. In Toronto we have a fair amount of air traffic around Pearson airport, and when the wind blows from a certain direction we get lots of passenger jets flying over our house to land, presumably into a headwind. Yeah they could be doing something 'special' in Europe there. It could also be a humidity/temperature/altitude/wind difference thing that makes the condensate tend to linger and spread in the skies there in Europe. But I haven't heard why Europe should be different that way. Occasionally we will see distinct contrails but nothing like the pics you show.

Here's a snapshot of air traffic right now :

98% of all age groups survive COVID, but many of those survivors suffer long haul symptoms. Many may never climb stairs, taste food or have sex again. Those are severe consequences.

The last one of the three is not so severe. It is very common already as a result of the widespread pre-existent condition called marriage long haul syndrome.

This comes as no surprise, it was just a matter of when. Canada's Health Minister has just said the following :

"... it is essential that Canadians remain up to date with their vaccines. And what does being up-to-date mean? Being up-to-date with your vaccination means that you received your last dose during the last nine months. "

The question is if it will get to the stage of being mandated by government. Or perhaps the government will be content in allowing companies to get away with firing those employees who are not 'up-to-date'.

My hope is that more and more previously compliant Canadians will say no.

Three year old Elmo of Sesame Street has just been vaccinated against Covid! No side effects, he only felt a little prick in his arm. We're all good. Paediatricians across the US agree, just ask them.

But I reckon : Tiny tots, with their arms all aglow, will find it hard to sleep tonight.

Elmo has far less risk of getting really sick from Covid than he does getting hit by a car while crossing Sesame Street.

    ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND There were increased SARS-CoV2 hospitalizations and deaths noted during Omicron (B.1.1.529) variant surge in UK despite decreased cases, and the reasons are unclear.

METHODS In this observational study, we analyzed reported SARS-CoV2 cases, hospitalizations and deaths during the COVID-19 pandemic in the UK. We also analyzed variables that can affect the outcomes. The vaccine effectiveness among those ≥18 years of age (August 16, 2021 to March 27, 2022) was analyzed.

RESULTS Of the total cases (n= 22,072,550), hospitalizations (n=848,911) and deaths (n=175,070) due to COVID-19 in UK; 51.3% of cases (n=11,315,793), 28.8% of hospitalizations (n=244,708) and 16.4% of deaths (n=28,659) occurred during Omicron variant surge. When comparing the period of February 28-May 1, 2022 with the prior 12-weeks, we observed a significant increase in the case fatality rate (0.19% vs 0.41%; RR 2.11 [2.06-2.16], p<0.001) and odds of hospitalization (1.58% vs 3.72%; RR 2.36[2.34-2.38]; p<0.001). During the same period a significant increase in cases (23.7% vs 40.3%; RR1.70 [1.70-1.71]; p<0.001) among ≥50 years of age and hospitalizations (39.3% vs 50.3%;RR1.28 [1.27-1.30]; p<0.001) and deaths (67.89% vs 80.07%;RR1.18 [1.16-1.20]; p<0.001) among ≥75 years of age was observed. The vaccine effectiveness (VE) for the third dose was in negative since December 20, 2021, with a significantly increased proportion of SARS-CoV2 cases hospitalizations and deaths among the vaccinated; and a decreased proportion of cases, hospitalizations, and deaths among the unvaccinated. The pre-existing conditions were present in 95.6% of all COVID-19 deaths, various ethnic, deprivation score and vaccination rate disparities noted that can adversely affect hospitalization and deaths among compared groups.

CONCLUSIONS There is no discernable vaccine effectiveness among ≥18 years of age, vaccinated third dose population since the beginning of the Omicron variant surge. Pre-existing conditions, ethnicity, deprivation score, and vaccination rate disparities data need to be adjusted for evaluating VE for hospitalizations and deaths. The increased cases with significantly increased hospitalizations and deaths among the elderly population during the Omicron variant surge underscores the need to prevent infections in the elderly irrespective of vaccination status with uniform screening protocols and protective measures.

The excess risk of serious adverse events of special interest surpassed the risk reduction for COVID-19 hospitalization relative to the placebo group in both Pfizer and Moderna trials (2.3 and 6.4 per 10,000 participants, respectively).

At least those suffering from adverse events from injection went to hospital with respectable neutralizing antibody titres for the virus. I'm sure THH and Mr. Data Science would agree.
