I'm with Paradigmnoi on the font size, trend line width/weight, low contrast colors, etc... Hard to see for these tired old eyes even with a large monitor. I also suggest reducing the size/scale of the control panel in favor of more space for the graphic trend display. Thanks!

Paradigmnoia I've done some Arduino and Raspberry programming for my own projects. I would not recommend Raspberry for what you are doing. Which Arduino are you playing with? Which logging shield? Where are you located? (I'm in Seattle area.)

It is also beyond the 'Glow Discharge' region and into Arc. My un-educated guess is that it is between D and H that is conducive to plasma 'self organization' and the desired results. The "point" references didn't seem to come through correctly... Negative resistance region would be between D and G. The region from G to I, a positive resistance region, may also be interesting, And perhaps an oscillation between F and H.

Bob Greenyer recently posted a YouTube thing of a number of DC powered plasma experiments done by Renzi Mondaini who called it "Cold Fusion Reactions" and done with two electrodes, anode and cathode, in various electrolytes. @Director Regarding SAFIRE two cathodes and anode destruction... In listening to Monty's talks, I'm quite certain I heard him say words to the effect that only one cathode is needed and they know how to keep the anode from being affected. My reasons for starting with the spherical/hollow/H2 anode is because that's what they did. I believe they were generating excess heat without damaging the anode. Once one gets results like those seen in their videos, one can start incrementally, little by little making changes and hopefully improvements.

@Director Most of the Puthoff document is over my head but I like the gist. Recent SAFIRE disclosures from Monty have served to confirm my thinking that the power supply is DC with adjustable voltage and current limiting features (standard laboratory equipment). Getting the plasma to operate in the negative resistance regime is primarily a matter of adjusting the current limit to prevent it from going beyond that region/regime. The voltage limit need only be set high enough to enable the plasma to ignite. After ignition, the voltage will float below the limit and at the operating point chosen by the current limit. At least until proven otherwise, I believe the anode should be hollow and spherical and pressurized with H2 to deliver elemental H into the plasma. I would start with an iron anode with as few impurities as practical.

I too am in the process of viewing the Monty Childs chat you inserted above. Monty is again sharing lots of valuable details/insight that has not, to my knowledge, been previously made public. The chat moves painfully slow and contains a lot of irrelevant BS from others (IMHO) but is well worth listening to by anyone who wants to learn more about SAFIRE (and LENR plasma). For example, regarding the power supply - A DC supply with voltage and current limiting. Adjustable voltage and current limiting are standard features of laboratory DC power supplies. I'm getting back to the idea here about doing a low cost, small scale, table top SAFIRE PHASE I like experiment. I'm wondering if I should be carrying on with my thoughts here or in the SAFIRE, SUNCELL, E-CAT SK: Three reactors, three theories, one common unifying mechanism - the EVO (Exotic Vacuum Object). thread...???

I'll chip in my 2 cents... I too have issues with the term 'negative resistance' whether one inserts the word 'differential' or not. But in both cases, the meaning is that when operating in this region/area and the current is increasing, the voltage is dropping (and vice versa) as if the plasma was a device/component with negative resistance.

There are two features in the above list that I think would be counter to our purpose. I think THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) might have a positive influence in our case, along the lines of sweeping the parameter space. And our current thinking is that we want to trigger/enable/support/maximize acoustic resonance in the plasma at its natural frequency.

At least in the beginning for lab/experimental purposes, my thinking is more along the lines of a traditional, dumb, analog oscillator circuits with added tunable features. Initially the tuning would be done by the human experimenter utilizing feedback from cameras and laboratory instruments.

This idiot is optimistic that Rossi is making good progress and will get there eventually.

Specifically from your post #72 above and from a number of your other posts on this forum and e-cat world, it has been my belief that you were referring to P+P fusion to H3 and that it is happening within the double layers. Simple, elegant, clean, doesn't destroy the reactor, etc... Though information from the SAFIRE public reports is sparse, from my reading/interpretations, I believe it likely that they were generating slow, steady, excess energy, much in the form of heat, from the reactor while operating it in a stable, concentric spherical double layer mode. And they weren't looking/ measuring for it, assumed it was from the power they were putting in and that it was an over heating problem they needed to deal with. That's the reaction that I'm interested in pursuing... Am I barking up the wrong tree?

I am thinking single flat cathode and single, hollow spherical anode. I'm also thinking, along the same lines as axil, to attempt to test whether or not there is P+P fusion going on within the double layers around the anode. I'm thinking a DC supply with tunable resistor in series with the supply and reactor/tube. For a given setup (gases, pressure, spacings, etc.) the DC voltage and resistor will be tuned to put the plasma into the negative resistance (so called) region causing it to oscillate at its natural frequency. First step would be to get concentric double layers as seen in SAFIRE and start playing with parameters from there. My thinking is to avoid introducing of other metals and creation of EVOs.

I'm thinking towards a small reactor and it is my assumption that most of the gas can be argon with very small amount of hydrogen infiltrating into the reactor through the metal of the anode. Yes, I'm doing a lot of assuming... There is lots for all of us to learn. I'm also interested in the Mizuno thread and hopeful those already experimenting will have positive results.
