In the end, none of us could enable the "guest" voting on the existing best sceince poll. Barty may be able to, but he has not shown up for some time. Probably too late to bother once he gets back. Sorry.

  • Gruber

    He's probably having vacations ;)

  • magicsound

Happy New Year andbest wishes to all my friends and collaborators here at L-F. I survived 10 daysof family visits with renewed passion for the cmparative simplicity of experimental physics.

  • magicsound

And clearly Santa didn't bring me the new keyboard I needed!

  • bang99

So, you have been a bad boy! :-)

  • bang99

The winter solstice went fine for me :-)

  • Shane D.

Even Barty could not do it. The software does not allow guests to vote at all. Apologies to any CFN readers, Twitter feed, who came here hoping to vote as a guest. We will probably do the polling again next year, and maybe by then you will have become members with ability to cast a vote.

  • Alan Smith

Can they not vote on a poll in the guest forum?

  • barty

    Nope

  • Alan Smith

    :-(

  • Gruber

What about an iframe for letting guests vote?

  • Gruber

    barty

  • barty

Gruber guess this will not change anything.

  • Promethian

    Hype kills.

  • Shane D.

Polling I assume? Hype is bad...only if from the Mods. And I take responsibility for doing just that. Felt I had to, to stimulate interest for the first LENR "best of" poll ever. Next year, I won't do that. We will put it out, and let you members decide without commentary from me.

  • Promethian

No, not the polling; but, the hype Rossi is trying to create. I have nothing against the guy, just think that he is lucky to known certain people who made "his" invention or idea profitable.

  • Promethian

Anyone else would have open-sourced the idea and would have made friends and contacts with important people from around the globe, along with a Noble Peace prize. Is money really worth more than that?

  • Promethian

As Keynes said, "In the long run we're all dead." But, let's at least not be shortsighted about our ambitions and goals that is.

  • Alan Smith

As Keynes said, "In the long run we're all dead." - one of the few predictions an economist ever got 100% correct.

  • Alan Smith

And Biology wasn't even his field.

  • RobertBryant

Keynes'' preamble.... "The. LONG RUN is a misleading guide to current affairs" is still alive.. occasionally

  • Promethian

    What makes Rossi tick?

  • Alan Smith

Rossi is picaresque in the extreme.
