The healthdata.org website and model have been recommended by experts in various articles. The model now predicts peak rates, deaths, and resource shortages in the U.S. around April 15. That is a disastrously short time. Evidently, the curve has not been…

Believe me, I want HCQ to work as much as you do. Anything that works is great news, I don’t care what it is as long as it works and is safe. We need drugs to keep people off ventilators. Until that happens we are essentially…

Regarding the presentation above, one of the items sticks out to me:

“The spike protein is an identical mean of penetration into the cell membrane we can find for Ebola and HIV viral infections.”

I think there was some surprise within the medical community

It’s amazing how much you believe that this one drug is a magic bullet solution to the problem. You may be right. I hope you are. Everyone does. But they just can’t give out a drug en masse without some kind of study to…

Gov. Cuomo is now saying that they have a 6 day supply of ventilators left. It will simply be a terrible situation if Doctors have to start making choices about who gets one.

Hopefully they can find them fast.

There aren’t really any good immediate options over the next month or two. So we are where we are. The train simply left the station on this. I heard one economist say that in the U.S. we are now essentially undergoing a 2008…

A thousand people are dying every day. In 3 days it will be 2,000. If the present rate of increase continues, it will be tens of thousands a day by the end of the month. There is no way you could re-open the economy in these…

Not a great day for us here in the U.S. numbers wise. Several states now at over 1k new cases per day. It is interesting that California, which is the largest State by far, has managed to have so few cases for its size.

just some interesting thoughts on the numbers today so far:

    1. The U.S. has about the same number of new cases as yesterday but about 1/2 the number of deaths. This is interesting because deaths to cases has been fairly consistent. So why the drop? …

Speaking to someone smart today about the growth slowing, he just said social distancing is working, slowly but surely. We just have to keep doing it for a while. Now is not the time to let up. Separation is the key to slowing…

Today's totals for U.S. New Cases is 19,452. That's a factor of 1.04. Yesterday the factor was 1.09. That's good news. We are still headed off a cliff, but not as soon. Every week we delay the peak will save many lives. Hospitals will less overloaded.…

Again let me ask: How can anyone prevent a lock-down? Are you going to tell people: "Please go to the mall. Please spend money and go to work. You may die. You will endanger your relatives, and cause millions of extra deaths, but…

interesting that their daily cases have seemed to flatten, but the number of deaths is going up, 712 yesterday and 919 today. Perhaps people are just succumbing to the illness after a week or two in the hospital. So deaths are a…

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but . . .

As of March 26, 6:00 p.m. EDT the U.S. now has the most cases: 82,179. China has 81,285. There are 13,968 new cases in the U.S. today, or about 800 per hour. So I expect about 4,800 more today. The total should…

I try not to think emotionally about any of this and to be more analytical, and yet I still have days like yesterday where I’m upbeat and think we will turn the corner here in the U.S. In 2-3 weeks we will be seeing the light…
