So: "There is the pretty epic thinkpiece in Aeon."
Would that be the article on Aeon where Huw Price said: "There are credible reports that a 1MW version of his device, producing many times the energy that it consumes, has been on trial in an industrial plant in North Carolina for months, with good results so far."?
The plant was in Florida, not North Carolina, and the "good results" are Rossi suing the company that agreed to the test, and said company accusing Rossi of fraud.
And this article was written MONTHS after the lawsuit between Rossi and IH started. It seems that Prof. Price has written interesting things about Time. Well, it's Time that he comes back to THIS universe. Epic, shmepic!
Edit: The article is "The cold fusion horizon"

@Pierre
Watch my mouth with respect to what/who?
What were those wrong reasons? What are the right ones? Why?
I was being facetious, Mary, just joking!
-
Watch your mouth, Mary! Yes, you were absolutely right, but you were RIGHT for the WRONG reasons... as the pathoskeptic that you are!
-
This is an interesting instance of history being changed: people now refer to the Lugano test as "independent". It wasn't. Rossi was there at crucial moments of the test.

Engineer48 on E-catworld:
"I actually convinced Gates to use a "Soft Bios" that my company had developed ..."
Oh, good! Not only he cracked the secret of the Rossi Effect (aka LENR) from a BOOK, but he saved Microsoft's ass.
I draw the line at him taking credit for discovering penicillin...
Edit: Bill should show some appreciation through funding his discovery.

Why bother building and selling a thousand "black boxes" to make a million dollars? Build ONE that works, the Nobel Prize will give him more than a mil.
-
Mr. Ockham would say:
"There was no 1MW of heat to get rid of."
-
Boring is reading about all the inexistent ways Rossi could have gotten rid of an inexistent 1MW from an inexistent Ecat providing power to an inexistent manufacturing facility of an inexistent customer.
-
Maybe we should file this oath next to his pronouncement: "In Mercatu Veritas"
Loosely translated as: "The Ecat will be real when you can buy one at Home Depot."
-
Right. The oath of a convicted fraudster who committed environmental crimes proves the reality of the Ecat. And the old cat, the Hot Cat, etc.
Where is Pirandello when we need him? "Six Ecats in search of a proof."
-
What can I say? Believers are slow learners. The word "FRAUD" has been used by "pathoskeps" since 2011. It seems to Believers to be as new as Paradise to Adam and Eve.
They are shocked, SHOCKED... that an ex-con could be running a... con!
-
Jed, for sanity's sake, what makes you think that Rossi may have been partially right? Partially? 1/100th of partially right would mean the Nobel Prize and uncountable riches.
Rossi has NOTHING. Since years don't count, would it take DECADES without a functioning Ecat before people realize that he's anoher Keshe, another Sai Baba, Keely, Papp, just another charismatic con man?

Quote from stephenrenzz: “Quote from Abd Ul-Rahman Lomax: “Quote from Pierre Ordinaire: “Am I the only one concerned about the fact that there is absolutely no proof that the QuarkX even exists?”The operative word would not be "proof," but…
You realize, Axil, that NONE of the demos you mention have anything to do with the QuarkX? NOBODY has seen it. Not even Rossi's .....
Post edited to remove gratuitous references to body-shape.

Am I the only one concerned about the fact that there is absolutely no proof that the QuarkX even exists?
-
Yes, and Saint George slayed a dragon.
Now, could someone please mount the same horse and slay the same dragon? No? Children stories, then...

I cannot fathom how a jury trial can work, when PhDs and Nobel Prizes are in disagreement.
Attorney: Juror Nr. 1, do you know what an electron is?
Juror Nr. 1: What I get from the electronic utilities to power the appliances in my house?
Attorney: OK, let's start from the beginning...

To land on a moving platform in heavy wind... incredible!

Curbina, I posted in English for the forum members who don't speak Spanish. How come that was not obvious to you?

This is very old news (2014) and it's about the Lugano report, that has been thoroughly debunked by Thomas Clarke.
