The Playground

  • I don't think Dewey and others had bad intentions - could have just used a bit more tact and not have outted Sifferkoll's background info. Just because he wrote a book about it doesn't mean he deserves to have it brought up here.

Ironically Siff did the same thing with Thomas, but again two wrongs don't make a right.

IMO, we could all benefit from being kinder to each other. People on both "sides". I see that Dewey has changed tone a bit, that's a good start.

I put "sides" in quotes because in the end we're all on the same team.

  • Personally I felt it necessary to say something because I know the change in tone would be rolled into a whole new rumor mill with all kinds of ridiculous implications and assumptions, so it made sense to just be open and honest so we can all just move forward past this. There is no shame in people knowing about his book, I applaud it. There is no shame in a condition...we all will go through something of the same gravity before we die...or death itself is quite a serious condition. I am honest about my conviction on this, as was I when Thomas left...

  • I guess when you doxx others you can't be surprised to get doxxed but two wrongs don't make one right.

Now, 3 lefts, that does make 1 right.

This is only about doxxing. I am a free speech guy. But doxxing is bad OKAY? It inhibits free speech and the flow of Ideas.
I have repeatedly asked for Mary Yugo to be returned. He had something to say. If whatever he says did not violate the website rules he should have a voice. But doxxing is where I draw the line.
Some people have reasons or clearances or non-related issues. This is not acceptable. Maybe my wife does not want to read about shaite I put on the internet.
That said, I like the new tone. Lets be better at SELF-MODERATION. <3

  • This is only about doxxing. I am a free speech guy. But doxxing is bad OKAY?

No, this is not about doxing. Look up the definition of dox, and you will see this is not it. Definition:

"search for and publish private or identifying information about (a particular individual) on the Internet, typically with malicious intent."

No identifying information has been published here. We have no idea who he is.

    There is no malicious intent.

What was the deal with all the "luxenergy" domains your friends from cherokee registered a few months ago. Seemed to be LENR related. JT's buddy even made a luxenergy.space Wordpress template that contained the latest IH press release.

At the time I thought it was linked to Rossi's QuarkX (lux/light). But then we know what happened and everyone forgot about this story.

  • None of the following is said in sarcasm.
Well the expression of what doxxing means is silly it needs to be read between the lines. But giving personal info out minimize the conversation is a bad thing. To
point out that I did not use a definition of a common phrase is just well will not silence what I am trying to say.

I use doxxing as just saying someone I disagree with “is a
poo-poo head” is not appropriate. Maybe we need a new word for
people that give out personal information that they disagree with to
make a point. Especially when it is used to cause harm. I spent a
large portion of my life working on the guts of the internet. It is
not semantics. Language is a fluid thing. If you have a better word I
will be glad to use it.

For now, I will stick with doxxing. This does not have the same
meaning as power/energy or any word that is clearly defined in
physics. I can be schooled on LENR words and physics but not this.

  • I have repeatedly asked for Mary Yugo to be returned.

I'm not 100 percent sure MY is still banned. On April 11, 2016, well after the presumed banning, I saw her in the list of people online:

If my memory serves me, I've seen her online on several times since then (or someone with an account with her name).

  • The COP was higher than 6 (>6). How do I know this, a significant portion of Rossi's claim is for 'breach of contract' in particular that if the ERV reported a COP >6 then IH must pay $89 million. Why should he make a complaint of breach of contract if the ERV reports <6. So that is the legal position COP >6 until that is challenged. That is down to IH to do and they have not done so yet, and may never do so. If they don't the COP is >6 end of storey.

This is an expression of hope rather than a conclusion based on any real evidence.

  • This forum uses software that has some issues. It would not be hard to go around it. I thought that MY was coming back to dialogue, I have seen others that used to have personal attacks here turn direction 180 degrees. It is related to respect. He just lost that perspective.
It was the content of the message we stiffled that bothered me. We have lost that. I personally think he just lost his temper and more importantly his focus. Then came the you are an 'asxhole' personal stuff.
I don't like to generalize but pretty much everyone who follows LENR knows Marys real name, it was the original dox (for lack of a better word).
I neither liked him nor disliked him, just the content of his posts. Some (well few honestly) conveyed information.

Hey mods, one more time. After the carnage and vitriol I have seen here, what did MY say that was any different? I won't mention it again.

  • Honestly, I've always kind of enjoyed MY's posts. When I first started following LENR in early 2012, I got to see an interminable battle of words between her and Jed Rothwell on Vortex. She incessantly plowed the same ground over and over, and was eventually booted from Vortex. She's like a force of nature. She can be very one-sided and irritating in her communication style. But if you read enough of her posts, you find nuggets of interesting information.

LC - thanks for asking. Future rebrand / relaunch planning leaked out and Rossi immediately glommed on to it with his QX lightspeak. IH shelved the plans as a result. Too toxic.

So if it was just few months ago, doesn't that mean that IH believed even that time Rossi had something?
So also whole IH team learned very last minute that there was no customer, no steam and raided his warehouse early morning in March 2016 (and picture of Rossi Dewey posted yesterday is from that morning)?
If Jeff could spot evident errors on ERV numbers in 5 minutes, as he has stated, does it mean also that IH specialists did not analyze 3 previous intermediate reports?

So my guess still is that IH believes he may have at least 'something', but failed to pass 'it' to IH for reason or another (immature technology, Rossi gone ballistic when suspecting IH deceiving them). If that is true, activity here can be seen as just defense battle to keep hold on license.

If this is about stressing Rossi to withdraw his case and return back to negotiations, I think this strategy makes him even more determinedly fighting back. Only hope is that Mr Darden is smart enough, which I don't have reason not to believe, uses totally different strategy and language behind the curtains that seen here (I have my doubts, since posting that pic. is pretty official statement to other direction). There is only few days left, before doors start closing.

  • Eric

Eric, this may well be but my point is this; it is the legal position the court find themselves in, not because it is their considered view, but because it is the status quo (Rossi's complaint is based on it being true), to be different from this it must be 'challenged' which IH must do if it wants to. If it doesn't want to or fails to do so during the course of the trial, then this is the position the court will be stuck with and we (on this Forum and elsewhere) will be left wondering why IH has not perused this quite 'obvious' challenge given 'Deweys' insider knowledge on the matter.

So while Dewey is saying Rossi must publish the ERV report, if he does this will weaken Rossi's case since the 'blogosphere' will set about discrediting it, saving IH millions in legal and expert witness fees. No; Rossi's legal adviser will be saying to him 'don't be bullied, 'there is no rush, let IH challenge, they can pay for the fees, then we will counter claim.'

So yes, the status quo in legal terms is the COP is >6. The ball is in IH's court now to say 'no it isn't' until then 'yes it is'. But no wonder planet D'eaver, is desperate to force Rossi into publishing, it could save them millions and even then 'fail'.

    Best regards
    Frank

Wow....I can never get those two minutes back. I don't know if it was the lack of humor or the singing was more painful and cringeworthy lol.

  • Indeed. I would not be surprised if McKubre would want to distance himself from strong claims about the import of the M4 run for heat-helium correlation. He made big qualifications even in the original report.

I suppose you can guess. I have discussed the flaws of M4 with McKubre many times. I know, from him, what happened with the "changes." In summary, he used, in the original report, an incorrect value for the headspace, the volume of the experimental cell, which then created incorrect values for the helium produced. He found thiswhen going over the data, reported this to his customer contact (though the contract was over), and so the later conference papers and publications used the updated value. Krivit essentially accuses him of lying and data alteration, and attempted to impeach him with SRI management, and Krivit is proud of that.

Now, my own independent analysis of the data indicates to me that the volume might still be an approximation, and so the result is not to be taken as highly precise. He shows +/- 10%. That might be okay. Or it might be seat-of-the-pants, and it's obviously not a calculated figure. This is the fact: the heat/helium correlation is established by many, many experiments. That's one of two only where reverse electrolysis was used. The other was Violante (Apicella et al), Laser-3. Guess which two experiments Krivit went after with a vengeance? He practically accused Violante of data alteration, based on his own math ignorance and lack of understanding of the experiment. It's all there on those pages, last I looked.

I noticed that both these experiments are the only ones that came up with close to the expected value if the heat were from deuterium conversion to helium. All other experiments found less helium, generally about 40% less. It hit me what the significance was. So I brought it up with McKubre and Violante, checking the claim that Violante had used anodic erosion. The import had not been noticed! I then put this in my Current Science paper. I've been told that the Texas Tech/ENEA collaboration will use that approach, because it is experimentally easy. The idea is that anodic erosion strips the outer layer of palladium, dissolving it, releasing trapped helium. Very little need be removed to do this. So ... with good care, attention to details, we may get some far more precise results than before, of high interest.

(Krivit had noticed and questioned the reference to anodic erosion in a later Violante conference presentation -- it was not in the original paper. To Krivit, this was proof that they were up to some shenanigans. Krivit never understood helium behavior in palladium, and displays his ignorance. To Krivit, that these two experiments showed roughly the same value was proof that it was all a conspiracy to support the "fusion hypothesis." I'm grateful to Krivit for pointing out that mention of anodic erosion, because I'd have missed it otherwise.)

McKubre is a conservative scientist. He reports what he finds, and analyzes it conservatively. He is not given to big claims. He hedges what he writes.

And he has totally supported my work. I do not consider M4 "proof" that the reaction Q is 24 MeV. it's an indication, and probably the most accurate value we have available. Storms did not understand M4 and got it confused with other work, both in his 2011 Naturwissenschaften review and in his later book. Everyone makes mistakes. Including Abd. (But Storms clearly thinks the reaction Q is that value.)

In fact, I went over the 2011 Storms paper before publication and didn't notice the error until later.

But we also move on and are not afraid to reveal what we see and understand.

  • Renzzz... so sorry. The COP 1.55 won't work without fudging things excessively. Funny how the COP 1 is the peak of a Gaussian distribution of possibilities. I can make a believable COP 1.2, within an error of about +/- 20%....
A COP of 1.55 needs about 900°C and a total emissivity of about 0.55. Feasible, but convection and radiation battle each other to make it a curve-fitting nightmare. While COP 1 settles in like snow gently falling on cedars for a long winters nap.
Oh well. No wonder Doctors hate it...

I am glad to have another baseball to be belted out of the park. Nothing to do with LENR, (although there are a few here that would try to make a case for it anyways). Farting around with Lugano was fun, but not going to change the world. I don't know that I will directly change the world, but I have a wrench to throw into Space probably. Better keep this nice planet in good shape. It is more rare than is appreciated at present.
