ICCF21 starts shortly, and this will be the thread to report on, and discuss any news -official/unofficial, rumors/gossip, that emerges.

Very interesting line up. I particularly am interested in what Larry Forsley and Pam Mosier-Boss have to say about the NASA/GEC initiative. Also on the schedule is Miley, and his "UIUC IH LENR Lab" team, along with another UI researcher. Seems UI is a hot bed of LENR activism! Then there will be Sveinn Olaffson, Tanzella/SRI/BEC, and many more of importance.

Looking forward for those attending to talk freely to others, along with us here, about what they hear, think, or whatever. Not just about the official presentation, but also what is said during the breaks. The good stuff. Certainly keeping it secret, has not done a darn bit of good in advancing LENR...so speak up. Please.

Forgot to mention the Safire Team will be there also. Great line-up, with the old guard joining the new IMO. Well, "new" in a relative way. Not many youngsters in LENR that I am aware of.

Like I said, hopefully we get a lot of feedback from the attendees. At the least, with Abd being there we will get some good reporting, and plenty of commentary :) to go with it. Thought Alan was going to attend, but he is not. Maybe his lab is where the real action is?

Anyone know if Ruby or anyone else who can be trusted to get the word out is going to be there ?

May be you have a name that matches with a Putin friend... There was a child (2 years old ) they refused too, accusing it to be a terrorist. They didn't look at the parent names...

This is a consequence of the US education system, which levels (OECD) the country (US average education) to be close to an African (development) nation..

factually world is getting better and better, but the lucky guys we are, are under control of salesmen of fear.

Good struggle with your respectives brain damaged system.

I and Gennady will sure follow reports by all present at ICCF21. Don't forget to report all blog entries about ICCF21 happening.

  • I live in Kazakhstan, a name of our president Nazarbayev Nursultan Abishevich! But he is Putin and Trump's friend, we don't want war! The policy dirty business, but suffers science. Instead of combining all efforts on search of new energy, we hide everything from each other. It will lead to death of all planet, oil of planet blood!

I am taking questions for conference presenters on this page. You may request that a question be addressed to a specific speaker or presenter, and I will communicate the question and I will bring answers back to this blog. The Conference is shaping up to be a breakthrough event. There is far more major CMNS activity under way than is generally publicly announced.

Comments below may be entered anonymously. All comments from someone who has not been approved before must be approved, so be patient, and I am very, very busy with the Conference there are hundreds of people to listen to and talk with. If a real email address is entered, it will not be published, and I will be able to communicate directly, and intend to follow up on everything, eventually.

Looks like we have some young blood showing up. This was the result of the ICCF/Lenria's first time offering of scholarship programs to the event. That is what Miley has been doing at the UIUC for a few years now, resulting in IH funding a lab team on campus. Good recruitment tool to ensure the research continues on.
Hopefully we hear from some of these new up and comers. I can not help but think they will be impressed with the high level of science put on display at the conference.

"Additionally, for the first time more than 25 graduate and undergraduate students and science teachers will attend the conference via a new scholarship program created to engage the next generation of capable scientists with fresh energy, ideas, and an interest in LENR."

Jean Paul Biberian is making a report on what happens at ICCF21

Beside the unavoidable subjects, I found interesting there was an expert in metallurgy (Ashraf Imam)

Here is the google translation of Day 0

Sunday June 3rd day 0 of ICCF21 at Fort Collins Colorado

    Hello,

The 21st ICCF Conference on Cold Fusion will be held in Fort Collins, Colorado from Monday, June 4th to Friday, June 8th. The organizers have scheduled a first day on Sunday, June 3 open to students and those interested to learn about the subject of cold fusion.

This first meeting, as well as the conference, takes place at the Fort Collins University Campus. We are staying on site, and the place is absolutely remarkable, very modern, and extremely well maintained. I want to become a student here again ...

David Nagel made the first presentation: "Introduction and Issues", He is one of the two co-organizers of the conference with Steve Katinsky. He retired from the Navy, and teaches at George Washington University. He explained the situation of the cold fusion in the world, what was still to develop, and said that the major industrialists were in the starting blocks, ready to invest. One of the future limitations for applications is the word cold fusion, or LENR (Low Energy Nuclear Reaction) which contains the word nuclear and which may be a brake on public acceptance.

Mike McKubre , recently retired from SRI, made his presentation on "Electrochemical loading to produce the Fleischmann and Pons Effect". He suggested to newcomers to read first of all what is already published on the subject, especially the work done in the early years. Martin Fleischmann and Melvin Miles exchanged a lot by mail, and these letters were recently published by Jed Rothwell (lenr.org). These letters provide plenty of information to understand how to achieve a successful cold fusion experiment. He then reviewed in detail his own work indicating the conditions leading to success.

Jean-Paul Biberian , I exposed the results obtained by myself and other researchers on the "Gas Loading". I have shown that nickel of nanometric dimensions is of great interest. In particular, the nickel-nano and hydrogen pair give good results. During an ambient charging experiment of a Ni-Pd-ZrO2 powder, the temperature rose to nearly 400 ° C, and the energy produced was 47kJ much higher than a chemical process.

Dennis Letts talked about "Calorimetry and Heat". He detailed the different types of calorimeters he used: isoperibolic and Seebeck. He also showed his results with the use of two lasers to excite the surface of the palladium electrode. The frequency beat of these two lasers produces a signal in the THz range, and by scanning this frequency, peaks corresponding to phonon frequencies appear. He also discussed his work with plasma dumps in deuterium in a Seebeck calorimeter. He thus obtained excesses of 5 to 7 Watts.

Chino Srinavasan , exhibited the "Transmutations data". In some situations transmutations occur, especially with metals such as palladium, nickel and titanium charged with hydrogen or deuterium. He recalled the ancient works of George Miley and Mizuno who independently found similar transmutation products. He also recalled Georges Oshawa's experiments of electric arcs in water with carbon electrodes that produced iron. He also spoke about biological transmutations, and the recent conference on this subject that took place on May 18 in Korea.

Ashraf Imam spoke about "Materials Challenges". He is a specialist in metallurgy, and has been able to explain in detail the different types of defects found in metals, and the source of these defects created during their development, as well as the way to eliminate them by treatments. thermal. He talked about the palladium - boron alloys he made that gave excellent results. The information he gave me that struck me, and that the nickel-hydrogen reaction is endothermic, that is to say that we need to provide energy for it to be realized. Which explains my own results where the hydrogen does not enter the nickel nano at room temperature, but comes back heating.

Peter Hagelstein of MIT presented "Theoretical Considerations". He first recalled that there were hundreds of theoretical articles, but he was mainly interested in the initial work of Schwinger (1965 Nobel Prize in physics) and Préparata. He emphasized the coupling between energetic reaction and phonons. His recent experiments tend to prove that this coupling exists in both directions, that is to say, either transfer of the energy of a nuclear reaction in heat, or conversely passage of vibrations of the solid into gamma rays. He also explained that for him, gaps in the crystal lattice are needed for the deuterium atoms to fuse.

Dana Seccombe addressed the marketing issues of cold fusion. He recalled the global energy challenges that can not be solved with renewable energies. He mentioned the qualities of the cold fusion, and compared them to other sources of energy currently available. It is clear that LENRs will be much better in many areas. He also compared the situation of LENRs to the semiconductor industry.

The day ended with a reception of the participants.

Thank you Gennadly, and Ruby. Looks like the old guard is there in force. Very good sign to see Robert Duncan attending. He was on the Science Committee, but had not made the last ICCF, so I was crossing my fingers he would show. With the rumors floating around that his Texas Tech/Seashore Research is getting results, maybe we will hear something from him. That would be big news in LENR land.

Plenty of others there in a position to report on every aspect of the conference. I see BG, Ruby is obviously there since she provided the photos, Jed Rothwell, and then of course Abd. My guess is that this will the best covered, and reported on of all ICCF's.

I asked Rob Duncan when we would be hearing the Texas Tech results, and it sounds like a few more months. Certainly not this week, unfortunately.

    bobeson,

Thank you for that bit of information. Hard to believe he would be there at all, were his research so far a failure. Then there are the rumors, and Ahlfors investigative photojournalism that point towards something positive.

If you are comfortable responding, can you give us your expectation...good or bad, based on your conversation?

  • I think it will be good, but he is holding his cards very close to his chest. He said that his sponsor wants the results to be very thorough, so they are following up on a bunch of aspects that complete the investigation. I was told by other attendees that they are planning to submit the results to a major mainstream journal, which would be great.

Thank you so much for that! Just so the audience is informed; Duncan's rumored, and somewhat speculative "sponsor" is Bill Gates, to the tune of $6 million.

My opinion only, but considering he is there in Fort Collins, and intending to publish in a major mainstream journal, well....sounds good.
