I am new to this field and I try to understand LENR. Is it possible to get excess heat by light water instead of heavy water? Has there been experiments with light water and if so what was the results? Would appreciate links for further information.
We have a humble article here at LENR-forum that is the barebones basic level explanation for someone that is new to the field.
The link provided by Alan Smith is a very comprehensive repository, and you will spend years marveling in what it’s published there.
But just to provide a short answer to your question, yes, light water Can be used, but you need to see that the issue is that the reaction is between either deuterium or hydrogen and the metallic lattice, water (heavy or light) is where either deuterium or hydrogen is produced from to take part in the reaction.
In time you will probably get to see that Some researchers think the process is even more general and that hydrogen into the lattice is a subset of the total possibilities.
