THHuxleynew do you agree now with robert bryant that the VA report is a load of garbage? Their politically/big pharma motivated study will be believed by clinicians working to save people's lives in our NHS and internationally even up to the level of the WHO. Do they realise how many people they have therefore directly or indirectly put to death by such irresponsible behaviour by depriving them of a potent anti viral medicine? Culpable genocide? To what extent can they blame the inane press reporting? Ultimately unless they publish a retraction within a few days the authors should all be rounded up and charged with murder one and any pharma companies backing their research permanently put out of business. I don't believe this was some innocent mistake in interpreting the data by some well-meaning scientists. Pure unadulterated Resident Evil!

Navid I understand how you feel in Canada but you are lucky to be there rather than in Trump's Kingdom or here in the United Kingdom. I think we're heading towards a civil war between far right white supremacist and far left momentum factions. When the lock-down ends I bet all hell will break loose, which is why governments are so reluctant to relax their restrictions. Anarchy in the UK as the Sex Pistols predicted.

Looks like stem cell companies are trying to get in on the COVID-19 act. Are companies like Pluristem sincere or is this a stock-raising exercise? These PLX cells would have no conceivable anti-viral activity and in end stage COV patients would intensify the cytokine storm especially by elevating IL6. Theoretically more likely to kill than cure, but in the meantime watch their stock value rise as fools pile in:

Article on the BBC about the success of S Africa in dealing with the pandemic having so few cases and deaths they can do testing and tracing. Don't they know they are all routinelly taking anti-malarial medications? Their 'success' is clearly due to this and the testing and tracing is probably irrelevant.

We've passed the 20,000 deaths today in the UK, daily deaths still up at 813. Is social distancing working or can the virus jump much further than 2m? This level of cases and deaths is weirdly being claimed as a success, the health ministers NHS and epidemiologists still maintain this is the right strategy, they are all still in control as the number of deaths especially in London hospitals is still rising exponentially. Still more blah blah blah about how they all have comorbidities, cancer, diabetes, heart disease and clinging on to the idea that it can all be controlled by testing. A continuous sustained reduction of admissions to hospitals against a sustained rise in deaths. When will we learn that we need Mass Fever Treatment with the known antivirals?

Donald Trump will no doubt pull the trigger, who is probably confused about the difference between chlorine dioxide and chloro quine? Sound similar don't they?

There is a European clinical trial of remdesivir, ritonivir, lopinavir and HCQ. France & UK involved too, called the discovery program. Maybe someone should tell them about Zn and there seems to be a disconnect with our scoundrel Didier Raoult's work even though there is a French connection. He's probably having no truck with these 'pointless double blind trials'. Merde!

Another interesting comparison between Turkey which is showing control stats and Iran which is showing rapid recovery since China shipped them a massive dose of chloroquine on or just after 25 March. I thought they were so badly affected because of US sanctions limiting medical supplies. Google it, the evidence is there.:) Agreed with RB about the vets study HCQ trialled too late with no fixed dose, no Zn in patients known to be Zn deficient. Politics involved here too, vested drug Co interests they admit to Gilead support. Can't trust any of it.

We should know in two or three weeks time which of the antiviral are effective. Meantime let's keep an eye on the stats of every country widely employin their use (Italy, France, Greece, Germany, India, Venezuela, Costa Rica, China, Singapore, S. Korea, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Sub Saharan Africa, Bangladesh, Myanmar to name but a few. Versus the UK and US which are acting as 'control's in this global clinical trial partly due to politics and risks of medical negligence claims perhaps? Control's due to either waiting too long to treat only death - bed patients (US) or smply having little interest in the scientific possibility of using antivirals clinically rather relying instead completely on hand washing and social distancing whilst waiting patiently for vaccines to be produced (UK).

The absence of large numbers of CO VID - 19 cases and deaths in regions known to takei HCQ or it's analogues primaquine or mefloquine for fevers is very positive evidence epidemiologically that it works the World over. Just look a Greece the only EU state with recent widespread anti-maliarial use. Using similar widespread antivirals will put an end to this pandemic. Each antiviral drug found thus far block viral action by a range of different mechanisms so combining such treatments in Anti Bat makes sens, ivermectin to block cargo protein suppression of nuclear defence mechanisms, HCQ to block entry and raise pH and Zn intracellular thus blocking replication via RNA polymerase inhibition, Avigan more direct blocking of viral replication again hitting the polymerase, Nitrazoxanide inhibits viral development. I had to take my wife to hospital yesterday for a day long treatment and since this is probably the most likely place to contract Corona virus I hope to have all the necessary components ready for it in the next few days. Most of us on this forum are similarly vulnerable, over 65, we have diabetes 2 and a heart condition. One of our sons has already had a mild dose and recovered in London. I don't rate our survival chances without Anti Bat.

'merits closer consideration as a broad spectrum antiviral' would definitely be an understatement. Seems like a wonder drug but why has it not been used against flu? Maybe in vivo or in clinical trials it will be not so effective.

Infection by RNA viruses such as human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-1, influenza, and dengue virus (DENV) represent a major burden for human health worldwide. Although RNA viruses replicate in the infected host cell cytoplasm, the nucleus is central to key stages of the infectious cycle of HIV-1 and influenza, and an important target of DENV nonstructural protein 5 (NS5) in limiting the host antiviral response. We previously identified the small molecule ivermectin as an inhibitor of HIV-1 integrase nuclear entry, subsequently showing ivermectin could inhibit DENV NS5 nuclear import, as well as limit infection by viruses such as HIV-1 and DENV. We show here that ivermectin's broad spectrum antiviral activity relates to its ability to target the host importin (IMP) α/β1 nuclear transport proteins responsible for nuclear entry of cargoes such as integrase and NS5. We establish for the first time that ivermectin can dissociate the preformed IMPα/β1 heterodimer, as well as prevent its formation, through binding to the IMPα armadillo (ARM) repeat domain to impact IMPα thermal stability and α-helicity. We show that ivermectin inhibits NS5-IMPα interaction in a cell context using quantitative bimolecular fluorescence complementation. Finally, we show for the first time that ivermectin can limit infection by the DENV-related West Nile virus at low (μM) concentrations. Since it is FDA approved for parasitic indications, ivermectin merits closer consideration as a broad spectrum antiviral of interest.

This is how ivermectin works - surprising it has not been used clinically before now having such a wide spectrum of action. Seems rather too good to be true - but used with HCQ, Avigan, azithromycin/doxycycline, Zn and herbals in Anti Bat could spell the end for this nasty little coronavirus (covering all bases):

Looks like we were correct in adding ivermectin to the Anti Bat combo. A dose of 10 mg would be appropriate, and much higher doses up to 120 mg have been tested in volunteers without significant adverse effects. Kills parasitic bugs by acting on chloride channels paralyzing them with a single dose. Is thought to prevent viral cargo proteins from disrupting nuclear viral defence mechanisms (nuclear as in the cell nucleus which holds the DNA not as in cold fusion). A single ivermectin dose works well on parasites but may need a more prolonged treatment to be 100% effective against coronavirus. No harm in maintaining a 10 mg dose for 5 days minimum in a clinical trial?:)
