To my knowledge no one has ever try to detect soft X-rays [or gamma] INTO a running hydrogenation [or dehydrogenation] catalytic reactor whatsoever. A pity.

"Maybe NASA are looking into how much lower they can go than 2 Mev"
Near nothing, perhaps? Anyway this very question was on table long ago.

100 kWt ... Mars is at hand, exactly as bleach vax of POTUS. US are ejected notwithstanding in the future. Good landing.

This partner of NASA, Global Energy Corporation, is an interesting one to monitor.
Besides this energy generator project for NASA they are also working on new battery technology for electrical vehicles. -
No new finding. Umbrella Act and GEC have both dedicated threads.

I find no interest in Holmlid's work..
I find no interest in gamma photons either. It's extremely hot fusion....

The data indicate possible nuclear transmutations were found on the surface. Since transmutations release MeVs of energy, localized heating and shock propagation would be expected and account for the 3D nature of some of the features present. A future paper wi lladdress this heating process andmechanisms in more detail.
[shock propagation > acoustic noise]
Rapid desorption is necessary for the hydrogen isotope flux required for the observed transmutation processes.
Although the mechanism of how these products were created is not conclusively known at this time, several possibilities include electron screening, deuteron capture, neutron capture, or proton capture and then subsequent nuclear disintegration or fission of the starting elements. Future tests to further reproduce the transmutations and better track the “before” and “after” states of the Pd25Ag tube are planned.

During the process a flux of protons is assured across the target metal via a pressure or a temperature gradient. This conceptual experiment can be realized in several way: electrolysis of (heavy) water, Cöhn-Aharonov effect, sputtering or co-deposition of protons (deuterons) and Pd on Pd bulk, high pressure flux through the hydride and many others. However, the interaction of a flux of protons (deuterons) with a heavily hydride (deuteride) lattice is a basic feature of the successful experiments.

Sufficiently strained lattice vertices [27] will drive paramagnetic Pd to be ferromagnetic. Previous work has shownthat Pd lattice strain induced itinerant ferromagnetism [25] is related to transmutation.
[27]Acknowledgements
The DFT studies documented in this work are a direct outgrowth of US Navy research that was funded under the In-house Laboratory Independent Research (ILIR) Program, and we wish to gratefully acknowledge the strong supportof Jeff Solka (the ILIR sponsor) and the Department Q management over the past 5 years. In addition, we wish to thank a number of dear colleagues for their inspiration, including Peter Hagelstein of the MIT Electronics ResearchLaboratory, the LENR teams at the NASA Langley and Glenn facilities, and especially Olga Dmitriyeva and Rick Cantwell of Coolescence, who were instrumental in suggesting the potential value of spin-polarized calculations in elemental metal systems.

We know since the work of Takaaki Matsumoto that there's significant micro scale tell tale signatures. Bob Greenyer has done a great work of cataloguing and finding these features with a remarkable consistency across many types of experiments ans systems.

The online tool for potential outcomes based on Parkhomov tables provides some clues.
