Mark, Rossi said this was the Industrialization phase, not the pioneering phase, until it didn't work. Why do you think there are a handful out there? I say there are none out there. Evolution Rossi style means no progress ever. Can you not see that?

Not sure I'm understanding you. The E-cat SK has not been mass produced. Perhaps just a handful out there, in a pioneering phase, or field trials if you will. When the remaining bugs are worked out then Rossi could step up the manufacturing. So no abandonment, just evolution Rossi style. The Leonardo mod of the SK could totally replace the simple SK, or maybe not. Seems to me the Leonardo version's most important applications would be to gridless locations or else to provide unequivocal demonstrations of energy production.

Mark, Rossi said this was the Industrialization phase, not the pioneering phase, until it didn't work.
I may be misunderstanding your meaning, but the product is working in more than one industrial setting, according to Rossi. It is also in a trial stage. So I don't regard the two as mutually exclusive. When you say 'it didn't work' I don't know what you mean.
QuoteWhy do you think there are a handful out there?
Someone asked Rossi about a week ago if he has more customers using E-cat SK heat now, and he replied 'yes'. So I'm going by Rossisays, and ... guessing at numbers.
QuoteI say there are none out there.
Hey you could be right. I don't know for sure, but I believe he does have E-cat SKs at work.
QuoteEvolution Rossi style means no progress ever. Can you not see that?
At the very least one could say that there is ... change. Since I surmise that his early E-cats did work but had control issues and burned out early, and that the E-cat SK is largely free from those issues, I see progress. I can also see that hindsight might show me to be naive and misled. I can take that.

Rossi "paper" isn't a paper. His latest "masterpiece" has never been accepted by a peer-reviewed journal and probably never will.
The first author cited by Rossi (Puthoff) is a parapsychologist!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harold_E._Puthoff
"In the 1970s and '80s Puthoff directed a program to investigate paranormal abilities, collaborating with Russell Targ in a study of the purported psychic abilities of Uri Geller, Ingo Swann, Pat Price, Joseph McMoneagle and others, as part of the Stargate Project. Both Puthoff and Targ became convinced Geller and Swann had genuine psychic powers. However, Geller employed sleight of hand tricks."
"Massimo Pigliucci has written Puthoff's research into zero-point energy is considered to be a pseudoscience. According to Martin Gardner, Puthoff (and Targ) "imagined they could do research in parapsychology but instead dealt with 'psychics' who were cleverer than they were"."

Puthoff has a list accomplishment as long as my arm, and you focus on this? The CIA funded his research into the paranormal. If they paid me enough money, I would do it also. So what that he fell for Geller's tricks? You do not write off a man's lifelong contributions to science, just because he was wrong a few times.

Out where? It's just a pile of cheap plastic parts (junk) from Home Depot. Field trials? Yah shoore.
QuoteWhat is the reason Rossi's paper is so popular on researchgate.net?
Because Researchgate's counting systems are easily spoofed. Rossi likely paid some hackers in a third world country to do that for him.

I am not sure quite what Puthoff has accomplished that is so worth while but it's definitely possible. The main complaint some have about him is that he was roundly fooled and bamboozled by fairly simple sleight of hand on the part of Uri Geller. That means he is a crummy observer and can be fooled by just about anything. Also, he doesn't seem to know how to design and bound studies and experiment properly. Or anyway, he didn't then. The result was an embarrassing paper in Nature which had to be withdrawn. That's why people are skeptical about Puthoff.
ETA: I believe Puthoff was also involved in "remote viewing" which is pure bullsh*t. And he should have known better within less than an hour of watching people do it.
Someone has taken the trouble to enumerate all the crappola that Puthoff was involved in over the years. http://americanloons.blogspot.…/01/2135-hal-puthoff.html
To his credit (mainly other people's credit actually) the company he founded, Earth Tech has done some good work, some of it with calorimeters, to eliminate contenders with free energy claims. I don't really know how Earth Tech figures when you balance all the stuff they have done. Based on observing them during the Steorn fiasco, I would tend to trust the other principals, Scott and Marissa Little, with enough good sense to perform some decent studies.
ETA2: Note that much of the bullshi**iest experiments were done with approval and support from SRI. Coincidentally (not) that is where Brillouin's research is performed and supported. Perhaps SRI is a tiny bit too open minded.

Industrialization implies the sale of working units to many customers, and is what you do when you are sure what you are selling works. Rossi uses it because it provides that implicit guarantee. Otherwise - your definition, one non-working prototype in a Rossi-owned warehouse that he claims is industrial would be industrialisation. And mean nothing.

There is plentiful evidence from IH case testimony that shows Rossisays about customers to be grossly false, and no evidence that such have ever been correct.
Quote I say there are none out there.

The point about belief (as opposed to faith) is that it is based on evidence. Those here not sharing your view find it really hard to see what evidence there is supporting your views, and what you say in this post does not mend that problem.

That does not actually make sense. The Lugano hot-cat worked for many weeks. The (older) water-based Doral devices worked for a year. That was very many of them so even if there were a few failures that was decent MTBF. We have no info from Rossi about E-cat SK MTBF, except that there seem to be problems
Of course - all that is Rossisays, as Court testimony would have shown, the Doral devices could not have worked. The Lugano device did not work. But, even if you go by Rossisays, there has been no progress.

Indeed, Hal Puthoff wrote what was for a long time considered to be 'the book' on Quantum Chromodynamics and has worked on more black projects in the physics world than most people have had roast turkey dinners. He also founded Earthtech in Austin Tx, a company which has been investigating and reporting on frontier science for decades.

Dear Dr Andrea Rossi,
Are you getting the electricity from the plasma inserting a copper wire in the reactor to carry out the electrons flow?

Jorge:
The way we are trying to get electricity directly from the plasma is one of the most complicated and sophisticated system I have ever dealt with.

Oh yes, getting electricity by pushing a plug into the socket of the grid.
