I think that in addition to offering (not forcing) classical non-mRNA vaccines, governments around the world should have copied certain localities in certain countries that distributed packs of safe/common vitamins, supplements, and drugs. Instead, certain governmental health departments did things like post websites slamming D3 (which we now know lowers mortality) and shutting down clinics where people were obtaining mostly harmless (and at least somewhat beneficial) vitamin C IVs.
You mean as a placebo?
Doctors are very reluctant to sign off on dosing people with random drugs - even vitamin supplements. I don't see this as governments, but the medical profession. And I am glad we have (in most countries) this stuff out of the hands of politicians.
We do not know D3 lowers mortality. We know there is an association between D3 and lower mortality - and there are known causative factors in the other direction! We know that the RCTs have shown so far little effect. And the very large doses suggested as maybe helpful, certainly worth watching, are not something you should mass-administer lightly or without medical supervision.
It is pretty certain that no such dosing would have a large effect on mortality - and it is not certain which direction the effect would be. of course, we would never know outside of a large RCT.
I have no idea who was slamming D3. Not in the UK. Maybe stating that it has no known effect on covid - which is true. It is poor that governments do not highlight more the fact the N hemisphere countries are mostly vit d deficient.
