    Possible heat production in some Ni-H and Ni-D systems


    Abstract

    The paper concludes two year research on the topic of the possible heat production

    in nickel-hydrogen (Ni-H) and nickel-deuterium (Ni-D) systems during heating that was

    initially announced by S.Focardi, R.Habel, F.Piantelli and later reported by A.Rossi and

    A.G.Parkhomov. The authors developed a new methodology and new testing units that could

    provide consistent results for the physical community due to high importance of such reports

    in the wake of energy crisis. The testing units were engineered with such a design that

    both nonlinear heat losses (convection and radiation) during the experiment were minimized.

    The experimental methodology is based on the statistical hypothesis testing of the normal

    distribution from experimental heater power consumption data samples while the temperature

    is stabilized by the PID controller according to the provided experimental program. This

    methodology was tested by artificially supplied heat sources and sufficient accuracy was

    confirmed around 1.5-3.0%. Around 50 experiments with fuel were conducted with various

    additional ingredients, different forms of Ni, pure hydrogen and hydrogen-deuterium mixtures

    according to the experiments cited above. No statistically significant levels of the heat

    production were found in any of the experiments, with less than 1.5% accuracy in terms of

    heater power consumption.

  • Thanks Ahlfors. The authors are CF researchers with a 10 year history in the field. They know what they are doing. They collaborated with others in the Russian LENR community...including Parkhomov.


    Based on their conclusions, anything Rossi claimed, and all that followed his methods who supposedly "successfully" replicated him, were wrong. I can add also, that the Swedes were never able to replicate Rossi either.


    This does not bode well for the upcoming demo of whatever that thing is he is putting on display. Be prepared for disappointment!

    The energy source, SKLed lamp Fig. 1, consumes 4 W so that the overall energy consumption is 12 x 4 = 48 W which is less than a conventional 60 W incandescent light bulb. Heat is produced by the lamp’s photons striking a black painted surface on the heat collector back side resulting in 12 x 32 = 384 W heat assuming that the lamp COP is 8. See Fig. 2a and 2b for illustration of the installation. During the 7 month heating period 245 kWh power is consumed while providing 1960 kWh of heat. This beats conventional heat pumps which typically perform at COP 4.

    Maybe I'll up my order.

  • The NOBEL PRIZE should go to Leif Holmlid, NOT ROSSI because he does not understand the first thing about nuclear fusion physics,. Although he is on the right track Rossi just throws money away on the problem, has completely fraudulent DEMOS etc etc. and so I am not saying he doesn't have a sense of humour, he simply doesn't have the background in nuclear physics to understand the basics of nuclear fusion which includes LENR. And this idea of having large numbers of SMALL FISSION REACTORS??? It will never be allowed by the Atomic Energy Authorities BECAUSE of security reasons alone. But small CENTRAL HEATING sized fusion reactors should be installed in every home in the UK..So we can KEEP using Hydrocarbon fuels for our cars, motorcycles and kerosene fuelled airplanes and EXISTING central heating systems. And for GOD's sake allow the new NORDSTREAM 2 gas supply from Russia to bypass those UKRANIAN mafis bosses!!!! For now or else we will all FREEZE this WINTER!!! :) :) :)
